    I was in need of a new endocrinologist right away and my prescription was getting ready to run out. This location had an opening within 3 days and I took it! Great downtown location, took me about 20 minutes to arrive and literally just off the Anderson exit, so simple to find. The receptionist was extremely nice and waiting time was short (probably because it was so early in the morning). I was extremely happy for my appointment at such short notice! My new doctor introduced himself and his protege' (they previously asked me if okay for her to attend). He was completely thorough and asked several questions. He told me what he recommends and the steps to follow and that was it! He even gave me samples of Synthroid for the next 3 weeks until my new prescriptions came in the mail. Extremely convenient, their labs are located on site and they rescheduled me for a follow up in Maitland (closer to my home). Can't complain and I will return but this time at the Maitland office.

My mom liked Sand Lake Hospital (now Dr. P. Phillips Hospital) and Dr. Mantecon was associated with them. I soon found out that he is Chief of Cardiology at the hospital as well at the medical director of Cardiovascular services too. Dr. Mantecon gave the best service he could to my mom at the time and now treats me. I totally love his bed side manner and the reassuring feeling he gives me. I feel he is one of the best doctors in the Orlando area. His staff is friendly and always willing to help. My mom passed away in 2006 from her heart condition but Dr. Mantecon and the staff at Orlando Heart Center did everything they could to control and extend her life in the best way they could. I now see them for my own personal heart needs and could not ask for a better group of people to help me. I have also seen Dr. Jose Lefran when Dr. Mantecon is not available and found his services also great. I highly recommend the Orlando Heart Center's Sand Lake office.

I am totally floored by the service and care I received at my visit today…read more I had a scary experience that sent me to the ER earlier this week and was told to follow up with the cardiologists. I work at Dr. Phillips hospital so knew the office was here and made an appointment. I was given an appointment within two days off my ER visit which I couldn't believe. I thought it would take at least two weeks to be seen. When I arrived I was seen promptly and barely waited to be seen by Dr. Akram. He was very professional, understanding, and made me feel comfortable. He wanted me to get some tests done and the schedulers were able to fit me in quickly and easily around my hectic work schedule. I cannot recommended this place enough and actually look forward to my next visit in two weeks!

    Do not go here. They have too many patients thAt can't get in. It's the worst service. I've never…read morebeen to a doctor's office that has so many people that can't answer a question. It takes two months to get an appt no matter whether you're sick or you need a referral. From the front desk people to people answering the phone nobody knows how to handle a question or scheduling or if it's an emergency to getting you in to see a doctor.

The office waiting room…read moreis open with a long desk/counter divider separating waiting room occupants from the office staff of approximately 10-15. I was given a clipboard with forms to fill and questions to answer. (I arrived 15 min early for this.). I was asked for my DL & insurance card as I turned away to head for a seat and again when I reached my seat. I pulled these items from my purse and went back to hand over (thinking the girl a bit pushy, wanting the items immediately rather than a min later). Before I could finish the forms, more questions were verbally asked (where all in the waiting room could here). Since I did not know the answer to which pharmacy I use (being new to the area) I said I do not know right now and would have to get back her with the answer. Unfortunately, this response was not acceptable to her, as she had to have this info now so she could complete here data entry fields in her computer. Her defense was that she was just following their office protocols. I heard this word "protocol" several times over the next 5 minutes while other office staff joined in to pressure me for the name of my pharmacy. I felt like I was being attacked in front of everyone in the waiting room who were all listening in. It was appalling and so embarrassing to me. Finally my name, Susan, was called (but was pronounced Suzanne). Since Suzanne is not my name I did not respond at first, but figured it out when no one else got up. I stopped back at the counter to ask for my DL & insurance cards. I found them face up on the counter right next to the next patient who was checking in. (Yes, a DL is considered as PII even though this office and Dr. Nancy do not agree with me.) I finished the forms inside. Oh look, the forms include a question for which pharmacy do I use. I was not provided with the detail HIPPA notice or privacy policy, only a brief summary of what it supposedly contained. Therefore, I said I would sign after I received these. (Not received) Dr. Nancy helped me figure out which was the closest pharmacy to me. Upon check out I was told that I would have to choose a different primary care facility as I did not cooperate with the office "protocol." This office's protocols apparently does not include a semblance of patient dignity or privacy. I recommend that the office front reception area be renovated to include some semblance of respect for patient privacy and that ALL office staff undergo re-training to learn how to treat patients with respect, dignity, and to protect and respect patient privacy (in practice rather than just words on a paper.)
