Box of Assorted Pastries
Melissa R.

I came across this bakery as I was searching for breakfast spots nearby and immediately wanted to try! Parking isn't the best in the area depending on the day and time you may need to park a few blocks away. The ambience is more of a grab & go spot, as they bake items on the premises. They have one small table with two chairs inside and that's about it. The service is pretty quick even when you order coffee and/or sandwiches which is nice considering there isn't much standing/waiting room for customers. I tried a few things over the past few days: the famous egg sandwich (3/5) it had a nice flavor with the spread and Dijon but it was kind of soggy and fell apart if not held with the paper as the croissant was soft and fresh. The tuna sandwich in the baguette (3/5) was very filling and well seasoned. The tuna had a Smokey flavor to it but I was not a fan of the baguette it was hard to eat as a whole. Sandwiches came with a little something sweet which was a nice touch especially for someone who loves to have something sweet after they eat. The other bakery items I tried were delicious: lemon pistachio mini muffin, palmier, ham & assorted cheese tart and alfajores. I didn't love the matcha, it tasted very powdery and I ended up going home splitting it in two to mix with more milk. They put way too much matcha powder. The coffee is ok, it's not bad but not amazing. Overall, nice experience & I would come again for bakery items. Prices were fairly priced as well which is a plus!

Pabade's Famous Egg Croissant (~$8)
Aya E.

Ordered: Pabade's Famous Egg Croissant (~$8): eggs, mozzarella cheese, arugula, tomato, homemade cilantro sauce, dijon, salt and pepper; removed smoked ham Caprese Margherita Croissant (~$8): mozzarella, tomato, and homemade pesto spread Iced Latte (~$4): with vanilla (50¢) and oat milk (50¢) Aya's take: From Harlem to Union City! Pabade Bakery opened recently and I decided to check it out. This location is quite small (only standing room) but they have a couple of tables outside. Otherwise, it's more of a grab and go kind of spot. They have tons of baked items to choose from but do not sleep on the sandwiches! The Pabade's Famous Egg Croissant was incredible. The eggs were fluffy and delicately seasoned with salt & pepper, the cilantro sauce and dijon added flavor and creaminess, and the arugula added a whole lot of freshness. They must have given me the smallest tomato sliver because it was barely noticeable. Same with the cheese - the flavor wasn't as prominent for me. On the other hand, the Caprese Margherita Croissant had beautiful slices of fresh tomato and mozzarella. The mozzarella had great flavor and wasn't salty at all. The homemade pesto spread really ties everything together and gave it a vibrant and aromatic bite with the taste of basil. I appreciate that both sandwiches came with a free brownie muffin. What a nice touch! It was sweet, rich, and not overly decadent. The Iced Latte was also surprisingly decent and well-priced! Overall, I highly recommend checking out Pabade Bakery if you're in the area. You will not be disappointed!

The ladies working here were so kind and gracious about it, explaining how to order the cinnamon donuts in advance and they freeze well if you order a large quantity, so I purchased an apple cinnamon caramel scone instead. I ate it the next day and it was very good. I appreciated that it was a scone and not too sweet. There are chunks of apple in there with a definitive cinnamon presence. The caramel is drizzled over the top. It would go well with coffee or tea, particularly chai. There are other offerings here and if you see the cinnamon donuts, do not pass them up. 3.5 stars, but I am certain that could be revised upwards if I sample more of their baked goods.

I'm not gluten free but love any and all sweets. And I have so many GF people in my life. We were all patiently awaiting their grand opening and let me tell you: it was worth the wait. I stopped in shortly before they closed to pick up a box of cookies to bring to said gluten free friends. I got a mix of the sugar cookies, chocolate chip and sea salt caramels. All are incredible and none give the slightest hint that they are made to be GF. Crazy moist (Oy, sorry if you hate that word, but they were MOIST), soft and flavorful. The sugar cookie stole the show for me but I don't think you'll find a cookie you don't like. They had so many lots of vegan options as well if that's something you're on the hunt for. I can't wait to stop in again and try more of their cakes and sweet treats. Happy to have you in Mile Square!

I got the original cinnamon roll and the April special, which was carrot cake. Also got a strawberry shortcake matcha. The rolls are big! Worth the price and wait in my opinion. I preferred the original over the carrot cake. The carrot cake roll had some big pieces of carrot lol a bit unexpected because I assumed the carrots would be a bit more finely grated. but not bad! the carrot taste is just a lot more prominent. strawberry shortcake matcha was good, but I think the cinnamon rolls are the real star here. There's a good amount of seating. Staff is very kind. Def want to come back to try the other special cinnamon roll flavors in the coming months!

We also got just plain oatmilk latte and brewed coffee as well as some cookies (smores, confetti) and all were pretty good! not to mention the latte arts were perfect and service was friendly! Loved that they have a separate space for little kids to play (which you pay $7 for). Im sure the parents appreciate this - having a place for coffee while also letting smaller kids enjoy. They have babycinno too! Parking can be hard as its street parking only but there are some garages available if you dont mind walking a bit. Would love to return someday for a sit-down experience.

I've never eaten anything that I didn't like. My faves are: milhojas, breakfast croissant sandwich, and any and every cake with dulce de leche filling. I only tiny, minuscule complaint I have about this place is the lack of signage for the pastries and cakes. It would be nice to know what I'm looking at without having the ask. Absolutely zero gatekeeping here. Please everyone keep patronizing this establishment. I need this place to continue to exist in my hood.

So get anything fresh, like made to order cakes or things you see come out right when you're there. Otherwise you run the risk of getting old stuff, which sucks that they don't manage that at all. On a Sunday afternoon lines moved quickly and we were able to find seats. This is a cute cafe that offers plenty of savory items and lunches, plus drinks like matcha, cakes, pastries and cookies. There is also a bathroom! The women behind the counter were all nice and patient with my questions, they also kept the line moving and were quick. I had high hopes for the Alfajores as this is an Argentinian bakery but unfortunately the ones given to me were stale. The cookie was very hard. Also the Dulce de leche was too sweet and burnt tasting to me. I also got a chocolate covered one and the cookie in that was also hard and dry. The strawberry croissant was amazing. Never had anything like that before. Not too sweet and very flaky. It has a ribbon of red on the outside which gives it a unique look. I would love to come back and try savory items. I'll continue to stick with the cakes and croissants for desert and make sure it's fresh!

Place is a hole in the wall to the point that I walked right past it. Lone server inside was very friendly. Definitely a 'get your shit and go' kind of place, but what do you expect with Hoboken real estate. Got a red eye over ice, which was slightly burnt but still good. For food I tried the La Rustica sandwich, which has proscuitto, stracchino cheese and truffle cream on homemade bread. The bread was great and I could've had just that. Decent amount of proscuitto however the price ($16) justified that. Cheese didn't do much for the sandwich, as it was outmuscled by the proscuitto and just added a touch of cream. Truffle was similarly lost. All in all could do better, could do worse. Donut bites, on the other hand, were freaking money. Got 3 of the ones with custard and should've gotten a dozen. That made the place itself. Lots of other interesting things here worth trying. Wish I could a sandwich with mozzarella as there were plenty of others that looked good too. Definitely would give this another shot, as there's some good stuff here!
