I had an excellent experience with P St. I was looking for dental cleaning services for my senior cat without breaking the bank. They were recommended via a Facebook group and exceeded my expectations. I contacted them to get prices for the dental. They require a pre dental consultation to assess your pet before scheduling the services. I was able to get the appointment within 2 days. I was able to schedule her cleaning within the same week and on a Saturday! The consultation cost about $79. The staff is very thorough in explaining the possible costs associated with the cleaning. On the day of I was able drop her off right at 830 when they opened. They perform the bloodwork the same day of the procedure. They will call if there are any issues. All cleanings are done in the morning and they watch your pet through the afternoon to see how they respond to the anesthesia. The total was about $729 with no extractions and included the bloodwork, cleaning and post op meds. Total cost was $810. I was very happy with the services and will definitely use them again. Bonus: One of my former elementary students is a Vet Tech there and it was so nice to see her doing well after all these years. read more

My cat and I love Dr T! For covid precautions, he has you drop your pet at the door and you can wait outside or in your car while he does the exam, and then he calls you when he's finished. I then paid via a link in my email so there was very little human contact, which I appreciated during this time. I had also inquired about Revolution for my cat for flea prevention and he told me to order thru Chewy and list him as my doctor, because it's cheaper than him selling it directly to me. Almost scared to share how amazing Dr. Teferi and his team are for fear of the office getting packed! Dr.T has been amazing for our two South African Boerboels. Top notch doc and we plan on staying for as long as we live in the DMV area. We've brought pups in for shots, routine check ups and infections. P Street genuinely cares about your pet, they don't try to upsell you, they only prescribe what's necessary, and they follow-up to see if you have any questions. They also don't make you come in for an appointment unless it's necessary. I can e-mail them with my concern and they will be honest about whether I need to bring in my dog. Our first visits with our new Shih Tzu puppy were very positive. Each appointment was easy to schedule and Dr. Teferi was friendly and helpful. But then, Dr. Teferi gave our dog two of the same vaccination in a row. We were extremely worried since this is our first dog and we had no idea if this would make our dog sick. When we brought it to his attention, he acknowledged the mistake, but did nothing to issue a refund or even discuss our concerns about our dog's health. We ended up googling it and luckily there were no side effects, but still we won't be going back. read more

This place is amazing. I was really in awe when the Doctor came back and showed me the crystals that may be an indicator of a bladder stone after one sitting. He immediately put my cat on urinary specific food and gave her antibiotics. I have had experience in dealing with bladder stones with pets before. At my old vet it took 6 visits before they realized it was a bladder stone. Here it took one visit to see that bladder stones were on the horizon and to hopefully prevent any from occurring! Hands down would recommend. It is a new practice, so they are just now becoming more prominent! They even accept walk ins at the moment. We had such a positive experience here with Dr. T and the whole team. Our ~10 year old cat, Spalding, needed a teeth cleaning and a few extractions. We planned to go to our old vet in Dupont that has changed ownership, but when they quoted me a price so outlandish for the cleaning and refused to even give me a range for what an extraction could cost, I knew it was time to find another vet. Dr. T got such strong reviews on Yelp, I thought it worth a try. When I called to make our appointment, the front desk staff could not have been nicer. It was easy to schedule with them and all of my questions were answered, including the range of cost for extractions (which depend on the complexity of the tooth). When I showed up with my kitty this morning, Dr. T immediately proved to be a pet whisperer. Spalding was comfortable there with Dr T and the kind tech. Dr T was patient with my additional questions. He called me once they had put Spalding under to explain which teeth had to come out and was very clear about the cost and made sure I was ok with all of it. When my husband and I showed up to pick Spalding up, the entire team came out to say hello to us and goodbye to Spalding. Dr T. walked us through the meds protocol and told us he will call us tomorrow to check up on Spalding. On a weekend!!! Love these folks. They are wonderful and cared for our guy so well. I am soooo thankful to have found this pet practice in DC. By far, the BEST SERVICE by Dr. T. He is an absolute pleasure. He welcomed me and my kitty with a huge smile and a deep concern for her health. He really genuinely CARED, which is something so rare to find in this day and age. He loves what he does, and that's the kind of person I trust to perform any type of surgery on my cat. His prices are reasonable and actually much cheaper in comparison to other vets in the area (who don't treat your pet as well). The office is SUPER nice. Everything is brand new and smells fantastic, which is rare, considering that dogs usually stink up every place they walk through (obvious crazy cat lady remark). Dr. T also goes beyond expectations--he even checks up on your pet the next day! He called the day after to make sure my kitty was well. Had a great first visit here. We were worried about a limp with our little guy and we were able to make an appointment for the next day. I don't know what kind of spell they're putting on animals here, but both my cat and dog would remain happy and calm during exams. On a Saturday when I couldn't remove a grass seed out of my pup's eye and P Street Pet Practice had no openings in their schedule, they were willing to try quickly between appointments to see if they could remove the seed without sedation. They offer very convenient hours for pet care after work or on the weekends. They are also flexible as they offered to take us in immediately if it was an emergency (it was not). The two person team is very friendly, accommodating, and very competent. They provided me with tips for keeping my dog even happier and more healthy. They were very knowledgeable and help my dog, who is a little skittish, get settled and comfortable. The facilities are clean, modern, and comfortable for the pets. In 2021 due to covid there were very few veterinarians who were taking new patients. I managed to get an appointment with P Street pet practice. Dr T. was very professional and kind and I had him do a procedure on my dog in March of 2021. All my dog's blood work was normal prior to the procedure. 4 months later, my dog came down with a fatal cancer. How is that possible??? I am very upset. read more

Dr.Teferi is the kindest, most professional, and trustworthy doctor I've come across in years. Our dog, an old beagle, had a bunch of skin issues when we moved to the US about 6 years ago. We went through a bunch of vets in New York and Princeton but they always prescribed antibiotics that only made problems worse in the long run. They often prescribed expensive and pointless procedures that had no long term impact except making our pooch sadder. As we were moving to DC 5 years after our move to the US, we found Dr.T on yelp and took our pooch in. The change in our dog is remarkable. His skin issues are under control, he's had a tooth abcess taken care of and that's it. We haven't had to take him in often because when we do, the problem is taken care of. Anyone who knows me knows I am very particular about my pet care. I was staying overnight out of town and needed to give my fur baby a quick bath. A "quick trip" to the groomers resulted in my baby coming home limping! Her usual vet is closed on Sunday's and I began to panic as every other vet I called didn't have any availability. By Miracle I found P Street Pet Practice. After reviewing a few yelp reviews I called to inquire if they could take my baby. To my surprise, they only had one appointment available and I happily took it. Dr. Teferi was so kind and caring. He showed a great deal of sympathy as I explained what was going on with my pup. When I arrived at the vet, the office was clean and Dr. T greeted me with a warm smile. He instantly began examining my baby and took us to one of the patient rooms. We talked briefly as he examined her thoroughly. I am so happy with the level of care and service I received. I highly recommend. I really love Dr. Teferi and how he takes care of my dog, Emma. He works incredibly hard--I can tell because it isn't difficult to get an appointment with him in a timely manner and he answers emails well into the night! He always gets in touch after an appointment to see how Emma is doing and if you email him with a concern, he doesn't automatically make you bring your pet in for an office visit if he thinks you can take care of the issue with home remedies which I very much appreciate. I also really like how they email you updated records right after the appointment. He also approves Chewy Rx checks very quickly so there's never a delay in getting Emma's meds. Even after I moved to VA, I continue to drive into the city to take Emma to Dr. Teferi because he's so great that I don't want to chance it with anyone else. read more
