I have been recommended to Harley Street Health Centre by one of my colleagues. So I booked an appointment with Dr Abood. The consult lasted an hour, and included a chat about my symptoms, when they occur, ear & nose check, blood pressure and also had blood taken. Personally, even though I am in my mid 30's,I am really scarred of the needle, but the nurse was amazing. She distracted me by keeping my mind busy chatting, while she was drawing blood. Offered me water & advised to wait for couple of minutes before I leave. The whole experience was 5*. No rushing or looking at you like you are crazy because your palms & sole is itching at night, weirdly enough. So the next day I got my results. It was not as bad as I thought. Iron & Vitamin D deficiency. Something that can be fixed easily. So glad I went to the clinic, as my nose bleeds and itchyness have been haunting me for years. I am now taking my supplements & feeling much better. Will have another blood test done probably in 3-4 months.

The staff are nice and mostly supportive which is nice. However, I was once dismissed as healthy by one doctor and it turned out I had a skin condition that needed treatment. I prefer private doctors ever since.

You normally have to wait at least a week to get an appointment, and when you have an appointment it's extremely rare to ever get in on time (average wait time is about 30 mins), and worst of all, the receptionsits are unfriendly and often just pretty damn rude - you know, the kind who think it's their job to stop you ever getting to see a doctor. oh, and the waiting area's pretty shabby too.

Good job I'm not sensitive as I was once made ill, admitted to hospital and made homeless due to an NHS doctor (although not Dr Salpadoru). This practice prescribes me 2 months supply of medicine at a time which is cheaper and more convenient for me. They also prescribe additional medicine when I'm going on a long cruise and need more. I find their opening hours awkward. Every now and then I have to go in for a medication review and cannot seem to get an appointment after 6pm. This is a nuisance as I do temporary work and do not get paid if I don't turn up. A nurse at this practice once prescribed me anti-malaria tablets unneccessarily although I'm generally satisfied.

Very well run surgery in a converted church on a quiet street within easy walking distance from…read moreeither Gloucester Road or High Street Kensington Underground Station. For the few occassions I need to see my GP, I can book an appointment reasonably quickly and can usually get the first appointment at 8:30am. When you enter, there is a touch screen computer on the desk where you book yourself as having arrived, and then there is an electronic board that will let you know when you are ready to see the doctor, and which room to go. The only downside is that you never see the same doctor more than twice, they change often!

Surgery hours have recently been extended so that working patients are more likely to be able to get appointments. They have also recently changed their booking system, allowing patients to book appointments up to two weeks in advance, as previously they only had an on-the-day booking system. The staff I have come across have been friendly and helpful, and the surgery is easily accessible. Overall, I would give this place a thumbs up, which for an NHS joint is pretty impressive.

There are 4 doctors available but it is sometimes tricky to get an appointment if you are not flexible with time. I've found early morning (8.30am is when they open) or late afternoon to be the most successful times. A really good extra is they have a full travel clinic that will give you prescriptions and administer most jabs needed for travel in Africa, Asia etc.
