Ok 4 stars, yes a big name store, but to be honest I don't find it any better than others…read more There is a very large area for electrical and household goods, which I find is quite expensive. Food area . I often go there to shop for food, walk around and come out with very little. I just don't find it as good as the hype that surrounds it. To be fair my advice on shopping is know where you want to shop for certain items and shop around. The labels on food is very confusing, I spend ages working it out. Very often the big font price is the per Kilo and the price of the item is alot smaller. and higher in price. Be careful that joint of meat that looks like £8 isnt £16 plus when at the till. My biggest gripe with this Store and I have to check if it happens at others is: As soon as you enter the door your mobile internet stops, Thats annoying. You can't use the Tesco mobile app you bought from them. To use Yelp Checkin I had to sit in the cafe and put my mobile on the window pane to connect to Internet, took it off and it went again. Trying to find out if they block mobile that isnt Tescos own Watch this space

Truthfully I only shop here as I live on Gillibrand North and don't drive so a taxi to Tesco is my cheapest option. I always find that for such a large shop, packed with all sorts, when I go in there is still nothing I fancy!

This location is a short walk away from Chorley Station, opposite Market Walk Shopping Centre, with parking close-by. The product range in most cases is pretty good, they seem to focus on great service and high-quality items, they have many counters selling fresh produce so I was able to get some excellent quality meat and cheese, at a good price. They did have another fresh counter selling hot food, however something I found strange was how the jacket potatoes were pre-made with toppings on, they only had one left which had chilli on, obviously as I don't like chilli and this contained gluten, it meant I couldn't have it and it would have gone to waste. Surely if you have to go to a manned hot food counter anyway, having them ready and adding toppings on demand would be much better for both Booths (They can sell more potatoes) and the customer (You can actually get the fillings you want) The Free From selection seemed limited, especially for the size of the store, they didn't have the Findlaters Gluten-Free bread, which is my favourite gluten-free bread, which they stock at their Media City branch in Manchester, they did, however, have the bread rolls/baps, however, after getting home I realised they were past their expiration date so I didn't want to chance eating them, being charged £3.65 for expired food just isn't good enough. No reduced stickers, so the staff weren't even aware they were expiring soon. The meal deals were also misleading, I thought I'd pick up a gluten-free sandwich (Don't bother with them - the bread is hard and inedible!) as well as two snacks and a drink for £4, however it wasn't until I arrived home that I realised my drink wasn't classed as in the meal deal. After speaking to the store, I was told only certain drinks are classed in the meal deal, even though they are all-together anyway - I find this to be rather ridiculous and misleading and ended up costing me £2.20 more than I should have paid. 4* - Despite its' flaws, the staff are great here and the store has a good vibe and a great selection of high-quality foods which can't compare with any other supermarket so it is worth a trip out for, they do need to work on some pretty major problems. They have promised me a refund on my future visit, if this is adhered to I will continue to visit this store which has been in Chorley for over 100 years, although at this location for a shorter period of time.

I will say this . although a little pricey the food does seem to be good quality. And if you want quality then prices will refect that. My biggest hate of the store is their fresh bread. On the side shelfs they sell alot of fresh uncut loafs unwrapped. You pick a paper bag and put the loaf or sticks in the bag yourself. You never know how many people have squeezed the loaf and moved on, or how many people have sneezed on it. No unwrapped bread or rolls for me thanks. My usual Supermarket wrapped fresh loaves.

Got this great tip from a friend. Go try Go-Mex…read more I really like Mexican food so was a great tip for me. Today was doing some shopping and the tip came to mind so off I went to give it a go. Very friendly service and willing to answer any questions you may have about the food. There is a large selection of dishes at really good prices. I bought the Gumbo and the Chilli Bowl dishes . You can eat there and then out of the trays but I took mine home so I could sit and enjoy them. So I have already eaten the Gumbo and yes it was really nice and tastey. and filling. You will have to wait for the update about the Chilli Bowl, but I just know it will be great too. So folks if you are on a visit to Chorley it's a must stop and eat. I will put the menu up in the photos as soon as I get to scan it. Everything £2.50 apart from Enchiladas £3.00 I will also keep updating as I try out the different items on the menu. http://twitter.com/#!/gomexchorley http://www.facebook.com/pages/Go-Mex/169498986489678

I thought I'd treat myself today with it being Friday to something good and with the lack of other options I tried this place. I'm not usually one for little stalls as I think they're unhygienic; however this stall has a 5* hygiene rating so my worries were lifted! I got the big burrito which includes chorizo, chicken, mince meat and of course rice. All for £3.50 in a lightly heated wrap. The burrito had plenty of flavour and filled me up. Probably the best dinner I've had in the office all year! It smelt that good a colleague went and bought one too. Can't wait till next Friday now!!
