Skipper is probably one of the happiest dogs in town! In the two days Skipper and MJ got to spend together, he was very well taken cared of and trained (for what she could manage to do during their short time together). Why take my pet to a hotel, when my pets can stay home in familiar surroundings and have her visit them, spend time with them, and walk them, plus as a bonus do minor house security things like set lights, or even stay the night. MJ is a pet sitter first, and available to be a house sitter too. We had MJ watch our little girl for the weekend. MJ kept us in the loop throughout the day with updates via text and photos regarding Nessie's mood and status. We were beyond elated to know that Nessie was in good hands. MJ has been such an unbelievable help with taking care of two Chinchillas. She helped me out the first time when one of the Chinchillas escaped from cage -- days after adoption -- and gave me a run around the apartment for several days by hiding in various places. That was a lifesaver ... Later, I had to travel several times on very short notice and MJ was able to care for the chins -- which is extraordinarily brave given the search and rescue she had to do the first time! Chinchillas are adorable but somewhat specialities -- most pet sitters can't even take them on. Chins are highly sensitive and skittish and have lots of special needs with respect to their diet, housing, behavior and even temperature of the environment they are in. MJ is very attentive to detail and extraordinarily responsible and reliable. She's saved me many times when I had to make a hastily planned trip for work and the Chins need sitting -- I've always been able to do so with peace of mind. read more

I never never NEVER thought I would consider a pet service taking care of my 3 kitties in my own home while away. The idea seemed like lunacy, from both a security perspective and a safety one (would my once street kits eat each other up staying home alone??). However, when I planned a big trip over Christmas and New Years Eve and waited too long to reserve their usual cat condo digs (put on a loooong wait list), I had to consider alternatives and quick. How fortunate my cats and I were to find MJ on Yelp! Honestly, as soon as I met her my worries started melting away. I instantly liked her vibe, professional with a BIG heart. And when I met Margaret (who spent the majority of time with our cats) I felt the exact same way. My husband and I loved the entertaining daily emails and reassuring photos from Margaret. She was keen at capturing the essence of each kitty. She brushed them and played with them (probably more than I do), kept things neat and a reliably routine, and just gave them real quality positive attention and it showed - we arrived home to three healthy happy cats who appeared way better adjusted than when we left!! She did a great job helped giving them medication as well as IV fluid for my cat with kidney disease. I use Pet by MJ for cat sitting services. She is very affordable (military discount) and does a wonderful job. Every time she visits I get an email update with any behaviors my cat had regarding his food, litter box, etc. She also sends pictures of him in every email and I love knowing exactly when she came to visit so I don't have to worry when I am on vacation. We've been using MJ and her company's services for over a year now. She and her associates are great. Last week I needed help taking one of my large dogs to the vet and her associate helped me. My dog was much calmer than our usual trips to the vet because she knew the associate. I haven't used her for an overnight stay yet but I would without hesitation. Both of my dogs love her and she takes great care of both of them and they really look forward to her visits. We just had MJ care for our two dogs for two separate trips in the last two months. She was excellent! When she first came over to meet our dogs, they instantly liked her and wanted to sit with her on the sofa. One of our dogs is old and the other is young and they sometimes don't get along, but their quirks didn't phase her at all. She loved on them both. She sent daily text for an update which is quite reassuring and sometimes added photos. This added to the enjoyment of our trips knowing that our dogs were well cared for. If you've ever kenneled your dog, you know that the atmosphere is not only confining, but there is constant barking and never a moment's peace. With this arrangement, we could leave our dogs in our own home with their own little comforts and a happy caretaker to see that they are well taken care of.
