Took my wedding dress here for some alterations and Diane and Perry were nothing short of amazing! I had an 8 week timeline and I was never worried that everything would come out perfect. Prices were very affordable as well!

When it comes to a wedding dress, something you spend so much time and effort (and money) picking out, you want to trust alterations to someone who has seen it all and can do it all. You want P'Dia. Had to go in for several quick fittings as they worked through the stages of altering my intricate dress (shortening straps, tightening bust, taking up the bottom hem, adding a bustle - all while working around lace appliqués and beading!), and they were always so kind, and are just the nicest people to work with. Their shop itself is not necessarily glamorous, but it gets the job done right! Highly recommend! Note: parking can be difficult in that neighborhood so allow for extra time. And, they sometimes have a "window dog" in the shop. As someone who is highly allergic to dogs though, I never once had symptoms or saw a single dog hair about and in fact, barely even noticed it was there. (But if you're a dog lover: bonus!)

Diane and Perry were SUCH a pleasure to work with! They altered my wedding dress for me and it turned out PERFECTLY. The timeline they gave worked well, it was easy to get appointments that worked for me, and everything turned out wonderfully! Diane gave me such an easy bustle which I LOVED! It did end up tearing at the end of the night when it got stepped on, but overall with it only being 3 buttons and ties and so easy to do up, I'll take it!

Our son was recently married, and as the mother of the groom I wasn't going to take any chances on the alteration of my dress. To complicate matters, we live in a small community about 5 hours north of Milwaukee, and the one and only seamstress in the area was taking a hiatus. With less than a month before the wedding I made the decision to find a seamstress in Milwaukee that I could meet with, then leave my dress there and pick up when I returned, just days before the wedding. A little nerve racking if there had been a problem with it. I chose P'Dia based on the proximity to our wedding accommodations and her 5 star reviews and I'm SO happy that I did - the absolute best decision! Diane and her husband are exceptional people in every sense, and man can that woman sew! I was bring the dress in for a hem, but as soon as I put it on, she immediately picked up on the fact that the shoulders needed a fix. I guess I knew that, but didn't think that sort of reconstruction was possible in such a short amount of time. She pinned it up and assured me everything would be ready by my pick-up date. Three weeks later, I was back in town, I called before stopping in and Paul said, yes - the dress is ready for pick-up. I once again tried the dress on and it was perfect, well near perfect. There was still a little gapping at the front of my arm pits. Diane says, no worries, she pulls out her trusty pins, takes a couple of tucks, I slipped the dress off, she ran two additional darts for me, had it pressed and back on me in the time it would have taken me to change the thread in my machine. The dress fit like a glove! I let my son and his new bride know that they now have a go-to seamstress in Milwaukee, no worrying and wondering about the quality of her work, and now I'm telling all of you.

Overall my experience was generally very good. I finally got my wedding dress months after ordering of course, but had to leave for a long work trip soon and they managed to get my first fitting in before I left a few days later which was great. The actual alterations also turned out really well. Diane did a great job taking in the waist and hips and even some of the illusion lace at the back where it was gapping without any noticeable seams or anything. The bustle also ended up looking great but it caused some trouble. Now for the one star deduction- we scheduled my pick up for Thursday evening 6pm since I was leaving for my wedding Friday morning. We'd already had one fitting about bustling but decided it needed to be taken up more. First they called earlier in the day asking if I could come at 6:30 instead which was totally fine. When I arrived though the whole family was there waiting to go out to a birthday dinner which made me feel like I was holding them up even though it was not my request to push the time back! Then at that fitting it became clear the bustle still wasn't right so Diane had to do a really quick fix so I could pick it up the next morning before I left. It ended up looking great and they got it done early in the morning, but it's a stressful time to have multiple fittings and add more errands to do the day before the wedding. That aside though I would definitely still recommend any bride I know to come here because the end result was great.

Wedding gown done at P'Dia

Coming from a family of seamstresses, I was a bit nervous about going to a seamstress I found on Yelp but boy was I pleased! P'dia is simply a God send! Diane & Perry, her husband are an amazing pair. I took my wedding gown to her because even after ordering a short, I needed about 5 inches off and to have the corset taken in. Though I needed it rushed since I was getting married in North Carolina, no corners were cut! They were so accommodating with booking appointments and willing to make sure I felt 100% confident with the work being done. Cost were exactly as I was told and any adjustments were given before leaving my appointment. Currently my husband has 5 suits in to be altered. Even being peak wedding season, they were able to get him an appointment and have the suit ready for an event. All in all, P'Dia's has 2 new lifelong customers! Customer service is wonderful, the work is perfect and the timeliness is impeccable.

Katherine did my best friend's wedding gown and Katherine has MAGICAL skills! She did what many…read moreprofessionals deemed to be impossible for her dress. I was with my friend when she tried on the dress (off the rack) and I was worried as to how the dress could be made to fit her (even though she is teenie tiny) but her wedding dress was two sizes too small! Katherine made my friend's dress fit her PERFECTLY (from adding the two sizes and somehow making the bra/breast area fit perfectly without a gap (I feel like this is difficult to accomplish with a wedding gown and I see lots of brides with the gap around the bra area and it bothers me). I'm super picky and I was SOLD on hiring Katherine when I saw my friend on her wedding day - she seriously looked like a model in a movie! I told my friend "I need your wedding gown professional's contact info STAT for my own upcoming wedding. So so glad I called! Katherine also made (herself!) a beautiful sash for my daughter's flower girl dress (and for all of the other flower girls) ... they were so classy and so cute!! Super high quality too! The veil Katherine made (also herself) for my friend was GORGEOUS and I'm so excited for mine now (I get married next year)! Katherine has been so nice and so personable in my own wedding gown alteration process - and it's so nice and refreshing to have this! She is available via text message which I also appreciate a lot. Even though my wedding isn't until the Spring, I highly recommend Katherine after seeing the end results for my friend's wedding and for my daughter's dress, and this is such a huge weight off of my shoulders to feel confident that my wedding gown will be taken care of by her (someone so talented and also fun to talk to!) for my wedding day. If you're looking for someone for alterations and it's stressing you out like it was for me, I would call Katherine!

I chose this seamstress for my wedding dress alterations because someone recommended her services,…read morebut unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing. The alterations ended up being taken a little too far and it lays weirdly on the sides (puckering etc), and when I received my dress back, it had visible dirt/stains on the back of the dress that were not there when I brought it in. My dress was brand new when I dropped it off, and when I expressed concern, I was told that it came that way/she didn't know what happened, which was frustrating because that simply was not true. I now have to spend additional time and money getting my wedding dress professionally cleaned myself, and no discount or effort was made to make the situation right. Communication throughout the entire process was also unclear. I was never given a firm completion date, which created unnecessary stress during an already stressful time leading up to a wedding. Wedding dress alterations are expensive, and for the amount I paid, I expected much more care, accountability, and communication. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed with the overall experience. While she was kind personally, I would not return and would not recommend her services.
