Wasn't expecting a lot but I wanted to try this place. Pleasant, simple, small town atmosphere diner. It's clean. Tastefully decorated. Plenty of tables. The food. Oh my! 8 ounce ribeye with two eggs over easy, a cup or so of home fries and two slices of rye toast generously buttered. $15. Killer deal. Perfectly cooked all the way around. Served hot. I can be picky about my food but this was excellent and a great value. They did not let me leave feeling hungry. Those last couple bites were just enough to be full. I really can't say enough good about this experience. Thanks to the waitresses, the cook or should I say chef, and everyone else who makes this place what it is. The other was busy doing a lot of work including dishes. Food was not good had the hot ( not so hot) roast beef sandwich. The meat inside was cold, gravy hot. Mashed potatoes were hot also but ordered them without gravy, but they came out smothered in gravy, sent them back. My friend ordered breakfast, 1 pancake, 2 eggs, toast bacon and potatoes. Bacon was cold, not crispy and looked unappealing. Potatoes looked greasy, uncooked and bland. Pancake had a funny taste. Toast was done to perfection, but how hard is it to make toast. Conclusion - don't recommend. Oh and btw they only accept cash.

HOTEL GUEST FREE BREAKFAST REVIEW…read more Our stay at Penn Wells Hotel in downtown Wellsboro, PA, included complementary breakfast each morning. It was provided in the farthest partition of the large dining room, immediately outside the kitchen door. It was available daily between 7-10 a.m. The dining room was mahogany wall covered with B&W photos of past events and celebrities of the 19th and early 20th Century, and paintings by local artists. It wasn't bad as a gallery of historic personalities and moments in the long life of this hotel, and its status as the coolest place to be seen in town. Breakfast itself was decent, but far from outstanding. As the saying goes; "You're paying for the atmosphere," if , in fact, you're paying at all. The menu consisted of instant scrambled eggs, brown & serve morning sausage, bread/bagels/muffins, cups of yogurt, fresh fruit, instant oatmeal and Starbucks coffee. Buffet style, you can return for as much as you wanted. I didn't load up due to my physical plans for each day, but ate enough to know it was all satisfying and filling; especially the java. It was a good place to start the day. There was plenty of room. We were allowed to sit anywhere in the large dining room, and the chafing trays were kept warm and refilled. Aside from the "instant" nature of most of the food, the break was well worth the fast.

It's real pulled chicken, not deli meat. The rolls come from a local Elkland Bakery and are amazing! They have a variety of hot and cold subs, as well as other bar-type food fried food such as fries, onion rings....etc. Sub prices have gone up over the past couple years or so, but well worth $7.75 for a whole sub.
