We had a large variety of companies to choose from to do this job, but we selected fives contracting after a thorough weeding out process. I suspected that I had hail damage from a major storm last year based on a significant number of the homes in my area displaying roofing contractor signs in their front yards all of a sudden. I contacted several of these roofing contractors but none were willing to give me a quote without knowing what amount my insurance would cover. Frankly, I did not feel comfortable with any of them. I then contacted a local company, Fives Contracting, and the owner, Austin Lemma, came out the following day. Austin performed a thorough inspection of my roof and gave me a detailed quote that I found to be very reasonable. At that point, I contacted my insurance company who sent an adjuster out within a few days. Austin was waiting for him on the roof when he arrived and was able to get my entire roof replacement covered by insurance. Austin provided me with the addresses of several homes in the area that he had recently worked on so that I could feel confident about my shingle color choice selection by seeing it in person. My roof was removed, repaired, and replaced all in one day and Austin personally oversaw his crew the entire time. I will definitely be using Fives Contracting again for future projects.

I can't speak the quality of their work, but I can objectively say there is a fair chance the company will waste you time and then not show you the respect of calling you back. I understand if they were too busy for the job or didn't want it for some reason, but not why Tim disrespected us, wasted our time, and acted unprofessionally by agreeing to do the jobs in the first place. I'd recommend starting with another contractor with more reviews and an established reputation of professionalism. You didn't challenge any of the material details of my review. A semantic argument about the definition of "ghosting?" I don't consider you telling me you'd get me on the schedule after accepting your bid and then not scheduling the work "a mutual dodge." I consider it an objectively unprofessional waste of my time. You were secretly offended by me getting multiple bids on a large job? Really? At the time, you said it was fine. I guess that wasn't honest. The bottom line is, attention to small details makes or breaks a job when it comes to home renovation. When a contractor shows you they can't get large details right (Like remembering to schedule your job after meeting and multiple calls discussing the job), that speaks to how likely they are to get the small details of the work right. I purchased an older home in 2017 and the siding did not look bad but 6 years later I noticed lots of problems. My biggest problem was it was always so cold in my home. I had a few windows replaced and the attic insulated but that did not really help. When the windows were replaced I noticed significant deterioration underneath the siding and asked the contractor about it. He told me it happens and replaced the windows but did not reframe them. I thought about selling my house to avoid dealing with the problems. I had three different companies give me an estimate for the siding. The first was way too expensive. The second company Cherry Roofing and Siding in Cherry Hill, gave me a competitive quote but were unable to do the job. . I later found out that the company is having internal problems and they are not doing a great job for many of their clients. I was very fortunate that they never touched my house. I almost gave up, but then I decided to use the Better Business Bureau. I found American Construction. They have an A+ rating. They are also located in Cherry Hill. When I called I was able to talk to one of the owners Gregg. I told him about my negative experiences with the other companies and he promised me nothing but integrity. Gregg kept his promise, his team was incredible. As I said earlier my house is old and had lots of deterioration underneath the siding and because the siding was poorly installed there was also some water damage. I expected the final price to be more than the original quote, but it was well worth it. American Construction replaced all of the damaged plywood, gave me new insulation , framed the windows and put on James Hardie siding. Not only did they restore my house, they were quick and professional. They started on Monday and by Thursday the project was finished. Friday they came back and cleaned up, placing all of my personal items back in their original spots. Doing something this major on your house can be very stressful and inconvenient. . American Construction took all my stress away and I did not suffer any inconvenience at all.. I feel like I have a brand new house. I feel so much better about living here now that I know what is going on underneath the siding. I have peace and joy about my home because of American Construction.
