We call each other our "vacation family" and our kids, and now my grandkids, have grown up together, learned to swim and made so many memories at this resort, that it is almost painful to create this post. We have outlasted 3 previous owners whom we also considered part of that "vacation family". They were welcoming people who did everything in their power to make a stay at Rainbow Haven Resort and Marina as memorable as it could possibly be. However, that all came to an abrupt end yesterday. Sometime in the early afternoon, we were told that they closed the books out every Saturday and we needed to pay our bill before the end of the day, just one of a string of BS lines that I completely don't believe, a day before we were to leave. So before I went to the office to pay I checked the website to verify the price of the room so that I knew approximately what I was going to be charged. BUT when I got in there I was charged around $50 more than I expected. Mind you we had already been told that the reason there were no BBQ grills on the decks any longer is because the insurance wouldn't pay if the place burned down and they had provided the grills, but if the guests brought their own it was ok. WHAT?!?!?!?! The next one was that we should have seen the pool 2 hours before we got there because "it was pea green". Speaking of the pool, you can see in the pictures below, what we had to deal with all week. It was not cleaned 1 single time after we got there on July 1 and still hadn't been cleaned when we left on July 9th. So an argument began regarding payment and I refused to pay anymore than what was stated on the website for the room. She continually told me that the website had been updated to which I replied, "I will bring it up and show you right now on my phone". Her reply about the dirty pool was, "You were in the pool everyday. Why didn't you tell us". "BECAUSE IT IS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY TO TELL YOU TO CLEAN YOUR OWN POOL!!!!! I DON'T OWN THIS RESORT YOU DO!!" The argument with her ended with her stomping off into her house and telling me we were no longer welcome at Rainbow Haven Resort and Marina. I CANNOT abide liars and underhandedness and those 2 people are the epitomy of both words. The pictures below show just how bad the pool area was and the boat dock was such a joke that it took 2 people to get our boat out because you had to be a gymnast to maneuver around the kayak that was laying on the walkway obstructing it. The last straw was that they sat on their deck the entire time watching us AND called in some kind of "security wanna be's" to hang out while we were leaving. I really take offense to someone with guns on their belt hanging around while we had our grandsons with us and were only packing our stuff and leaving. I would caution EVERYONE to stay as far away from this place as possible and if you have made a deposit for a stay in the future, be prepared to not have it returned because the place is going on the market in October and at the price they are going to ask will not likely ever sell and they will wind up giving it back to the bank. They may be able to convince others that their lies are true, but I have learned quite a few things in my 50+ years and dealt with better liars and cheats than they have ever thought about being. PLUS, I have ran that resort for a couple of weeks at a time for more times that I can count and know how much work it takes to run it. But I did fine and did my full time job to boot!! It was the people that you came into contact everyday that made me go back again and again, whenever asked. I totally enjoyed it. So our Rainbow Haven days have come to an end but next year will bring a grand adventure that will create new memories!!!!

My husband and I go on little mini vacations every six months or so without the kids and this year we decided to go to Branson. After planning a trip to this exact hotel about two years ago and having to cancel because of circumstances outside of our control we decided to rebook here since we were so excited about it the first time. I will tell you if you book through Expedia make sure you call to follow up with them to make sure you have all of the information you need to get into the building if you are going to get there late at night. When you get there you are greeted by the most charming street and when you walk in it feels like you are a part of a hallmark movie. The environment itself brought me so much joy. We arrived around 10:30 at night and it was quiet. We went up to our room and it was small but this is a historic building with a lot of character so unless you are planning on spending most of your trip in your room this is/was a non issue for us. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean and they had everything we could have wanted and needed. I did read some reviews about the water temperature/ temperature of the rooms. I will say there was no control for the central air/heat in our room that we noted BUT THAT BEING SAID it was comfortable the entire time we were there. There was also a ceiling fan that we could control via remote control that kept it the perfect temperature for us the entire time. We had a room that looked out onto the Main Street below us and the old railroad tracks next door and it was so pleasant after a long day to be able to watch the people below. Now that we've gone over the room, let's talk about the customer service. It has been so so long since I have stayed in a place that has had such exceptional customer service. John made sure we had everything we needed and more, making sure every time we walked by the front desk that we didn't need anything. Not only did he make sure our check in and stay was seamless, it really seemed like he cared about our trips overall experience. Again, it is a smaller place so by the end of our trip it felt like he knew us and we knew him. He made sure we were happy, fed and that our time there was special. Whether that be making sure we had chairs to sit on at the lake we were planning on spending a day at, to a place to sit for the Fourth of July fireworks with the perfect view, to giving his name at other establishments near by so we were taken care of. I will say to his praise as well even places we went to and mentioned where we were staying had nothing but the absolute kindest things to say about him and what a great place it was. Now, one of my favorite things, the food. There is a restaurant located inside of the inn, this is where most of the hustle and bustle comes from during the day and really truly brings the place alive. The staff were excellent, so personable and just fun. The food was fantastic and as a self certified food snob I was never disappointed. At one point I looked at my husband and said this is the first time in a while I have felt like the food is worth the hype. We went into the bar in the afternoons and had appetizers and drinks and were greeted with the same friendly face behind the bar each time(I wish I had gotten his name but he was wonderful - if you go tell him I said hi!). We tried several appetizers from the nachos to the pretzel and the fish and chips entree and everything left us happy and satisfied. The drinks were always good and again the service here is exceptional.The location is pretty central in hollister. We had everything we needed within walkable distance from the inn. At one point I told my husband I preferred hollister over Branson. We had initially gone for all of the touristy stuff Branson had to offer. We spent a good day there doing the titanic museum and the mountain coaster, but I think both of us preferred the slowness and more personable feeling hollister had to offer. The other business along the strip were also so welcoming and beautiful and just treated you with the same openness as family. I really wish I could describe to you just how much I loved it here but the previous statements will have to hold to be true. I have not been so sad to leave a place in a long time and we will be back many times over.

Mahi Mahi sandwich was very good I took off most of the condiments cause I wanted to taste the fish. The burger was very good cream corn was excellent, service was decent and very personal. I think it would be really cool to stay here as well. Overall was worth the trip and I didn't feel they were tourist like prices would definitely return !

It was a 4 hour drive,…read moreand we showed up to a disaster, the toilet was right next to the bed (nothing like pictured). At 1am we were tired and didn't know the area. We called Hilton Promenade and spoke with Heather H., and I cannot say how thankful we are for her! We wanted a washer and dryer and a little kitchen like an Airbnb would have, but I didn't have expectations of this at a hotel. After our call with Heather H. inquiring on availability, she had sent someone to make sure that the type of room we wanted was available, (we were happy just to have a bed at this point), and it even has a spa tub! The hotel has been remodeled with the nicest finishes, and has that extremely clean feeling that you want. The convenience of a kitchen and washer/dryer unit in the room we're staying in makes me never want to use AirBnB again! At 2am we rolled into the hotel and were greeted by Heather H., who went out of her way to help us get settled quickly (she even helped load the rolling cart!) You never see that type of customer service anymore. 15/10. I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. We extended our one night stay to 3. Heather H. and Hilton Promenade made our trip from, you know, into a relaxing getaway seamlessly.
