When I got married, I wanted traditional Lao attire, but in white. However, I couldn't find any that i liked so I just had a traditional American wedding. During Lao New Year, I found this beautiful mint traditional silk and had it altered. As a kid, all the Laos kids i knew had their own traditional lao clothing and i always had to borrow mine, I was so happy and proud when I was able to buy my own. I did not have a pa bieng (Sash) for my husband and the bun, belt and jewelry. I actually found Oy Lao store when it was on Fresno and Olive, it is now located on Fresno and McKinley. The person helping me was so kind and nice, I got my husband's shirt, sash, bun, jewelry, belt and even got a sash (pa bieng) for my dog for our 5 year anniversary in 2020 for a photoshoot. Fyi, if your husband is a taller, bigger guy, get him a size larger. Asian large and American large just isn't the same, lol. I honestly didn't know how to put my sash over my shoulder so I just wore it to the side. I have added photos to show how beautiful my 5 year anniversary photoshoot and everything was pretty decently priced. Our 10 year wedding anniversary is coming up and I am considering doing another traditional photoshoot for it in both traditional American and traditional Laotian clothing.
