This is so sad because their are wonderful, caring and brilliant teachers in this district only to be undermined by the board. The board DOESN'T support the teachers. They have zero knowledge of the inter workings of the schools, especially the middle schools. If you have a child that works hard, has no behavioral issues, turns in assignments on time, works well with others and EARNS his A+, he will also be sitting next to the kid that is the complete opposite and the district board members with blame the teachers for the problem kids inadequacies and pressure the teachers to pass that problem kid, given into entitled parents and allow that kid to have the same rewards and privileges as the excellent student. Basically setting up the problem kid for failure in high school and life. This district has terrible accountability for supplies and never replaces much needed equipment blaming it in the "budget@ and not their inept accounting. This caused teachers or parents to pay for those much needed supplies. It's a shame, a district with great teachers that has had many students go off to great 4-year universities, those teachers have to work under poor management where they and the students end up suffering in the long run!!!! Shame on the district board members!!!!!!!!

I probably enjoyed middle school cause of this school far more than during elementary. My favorite people in the early 2000s though was the librarian and an English teacher, Mrs. Ludes. The library was one of my favorite places to hang out. The teacher got hell from her students when she was the sweetest and smartest teacher I had met up to that point. She nurtured my love of literature. I wish other students had appreciated her.

Upon arrival, I was told by my supervisor Anna Anne? to leave the playground equipment area; that is was her area to oversee. My area was the open blacktop. Anna did not address the child to get him to get off the slide. He remained at the bottom of the slide, head downward, legs up. I left the playground, made a report to Edie ? in the cafeteria, the vice principal, and the sub desk.

Is any school perfect? No. Are the other 2 Yelp reviews a fair and accurate picture of this school?…read moreIn my opinion...no. Not at all. We have been attending Citrus Glen since my middle child was in TK. What I have found is a school that has very dedicated, loving teachers. A school that has a principal who communicates and does in fact solve problems. Pretty sure my son's experience with bullying last year, and the fact that both the teacher and the principal responded to my concern the same day and followed up numerous times would be ample evidence that the principal does follow through. In fact, she followed up with me at the start of THIS school year to make sure nothing was amiss. As to the claims of racism in the front office. It should be noted that the front office is staffed with a diverse group of ladies. A group of ladies who work with a very, very diverse student population. I can only imagine that when they offered a wide variety of income and address verification options that they did so because they were suggestions that have helped solve a problem in the past and not because they were making "racist" assumptions. As to the comments regarding PTA. I totally understand PTA is not for everyone. But my question would be...does this person personally know the PTA parents? Have they had a conversation? Have they come to meetings? Asked questions? Do they realize that every single parent involved with PTA is a volunteer. A volunteer attempting to make the school a better place? Do they not like the 3....yes 3... field trips their student takes each year? Do they not like art? Music? School equipment? Because all of those things are facilitated through PTA support. Please, show me how any PTA parent is using the PTA for their own personal benefit. Because, as someone involved with PTA....I only see parents trying to better the school. If you don't agree with it, have a suggestion, or would like to see something change, please....have a conversation. Sound harsh? Perhaps, but putting down hard working volunteers (PTA or otherwise) really sets me off. This all said, my children attended a school that severely lacked a sense of community, school pride and cooperative principal leadership. In our 4 years at Citrus Glen I, as well as my husband, have been shown time and time again what a fantastic learning environment the school really is. This environment is the product of teachers and staff who love their job and love kids.
