Victoria Shopping Centre is a small shopping centre, serving the town centre of Harrogate…read more It is a fairly small shopping centre but does still have a fair number of stores including Next, Sports Direct, WHSmith, HMV, New Look and Poundland, as well as hosting the town's only branch of Starbucks. The layout of the mall is easy to follow, many of the stores are in the exterior part of the mall, with TK Maxx taking up the whole of the top floor. They do close at 6 pm Monday to Saturday, and at 4:30 pm on Sundays, so do plan ahead if planning to visit in the afternoon. The building the mall is housed in is actually reasonably grand and impressive from the exterior, but in terms of the interior, it's nothing too impressive or easy on the eye in the main retail area. 3* - They have some good brands here, but the selection is small in general, it's a shame the stores that are located in the outside area of the mall don't have better protection from the elements and do close at the same time as the indoor part with no good reason.

As the previous reviewer mentioned, the Victoria Shopping Centre is a lovely old building, that…read morecontains a fairly smallish, but nice selection of high street shops, with a huge TK Maxx on the top floor that should not be missed! Other shops in the centre include, La Senza, Julian Graves, New Look, WH Smith, H&M, Athena and the wonderful Cornish Pasty Shop. The centre is well laid out, with both escalators and lifts to move between the 4 floors (the top floor is purely TK Maxx, and the bottom floor New Look (and an external entrance to JJB). All in all, worth a visit if you're in the Harrogate area, the centre is centrally situated, and is near both the railway and bus stations.

Finding a, um, 'Space', like this in Harrogate was a pretty strange experience really. Like walking…read moreon the moon. I saw it as I walking by and gravity went from underneath me, I got all bouncy in my step and bounded in - eager to forage for some vintage delights. Bargain vintage delights. In Harrogate? This is new. I didn't find bargain vintage delights. Rather expensive vintage delights. Very expensive vintage delights. You want £28 for a set of old cups? Oh right, I see. You're really vintage. Oooh. Oooooh. A new oooooh. You've got copies of The Face. I was never a cool enough early teen to be into The Face. I wish the face still existed. Oooooh. There's a copy here with The Strokes on the front. You want a fiver for it? Not a quid? Ah. Right. This place knows it has novelty value in Harrogate. And while it might spout about being an independent collective of vintage 'retailers', what would be a very enjoyable haberdashery of all nice, cute old things comes off feeling a bit too retail-based. We'll see how this one pans out.

The interesting bits you used to find in charity shops find a home here and the place does well. What's more the really knowledgeable guy who runs it is a great to spend some time with as he comes across a great deal more than can fit onto this Tardis-like shop. It's a wonderful place to browse in, but, as another reviewer said, don't expect charity shop prices as a lot of this stuff is now quite hard to find, and is priced accordingly.

The staff seem friendly enough and the store was both clean and presentable. I like how the Food Hall can be accessed through street level, which means you don't have to bother with finding the escalator/elevator, as you would from the main entrance - much quicker to get in and out when looking for groceries! I do find the store closes far too early, closing a supermarket at 6 pm seems unacceptable to me, compared to nearby ASDA which closes at midnight, and Waitrose which closes at 8 pm, I've found most Marks and Spencer stores elsewhere to stay open a little later, generally until 8 pm, which I much prefer. 3* - A great brand to have in the town centre, improving opening hours and stock levels are big improvements for the near future.

The food section is very large, and includes a lunch to go section, which includes some nice, fairly reasonably priced sandwiches. The store also contains a cafe, which in my opinion is slightly overpriced for what it is, but may be worth a look. Great Marks and Spencers, with huge stock variety. Worth a trip.
