The layout of the store did seem a little strange, which could be down to the building its-self, you have to pass through the Cafe, and then a set of doors after going out of the lift on the Basement, to get into the Menswear section, despite having five floors, each individual floor was not overly large, with the top floor being just "customer services", but the store was a reasonable size overall. I did notice some of the clothing sections to be a little laid out like a jumble sale, they did have some good items at reasonable prices though, so not a wasted trip by any means. The Ground Floor was nicely laid out, and perhaps the most welcoming and premium area of the store, showcasing a range of fragrances and beauty products. The opening hours are pretty draconian, so plan ahead, they are open between 10 am and 5 pm Monday to Saturday and do not open on Sundays. I probably wouldn't return, but a nice addition to the shopping scene in Harrogate's town centre. 3*

Victoria Shopping Centre is a small shopping centre, serving the town centre of Harrogate…read more It is a fairly small shopping centre but does still have a fair number of stores including Next, Sports Direct, WHSmith, HMV, New Look and Poundland, as well as hosting the town's only branch of Starbucks. The layout of the mall is easy to follow, many of the stores are in the exterior part of the mall, with TK Maxx taking up the whole of the top floor. They do close at 6 pm Monday to Saturday, and at 4:30 pm on Sundays, so do plan ahead if planning to visit in the afternoon. The building the mall is housed in is actually reasonably grand and impressive from the exterior, but in terms of the interior, it's nothing too impressive or easy on the eye in the main retail area. 3* - They have some good brands here, but the selection is small in general, it's a shame the stores that are located in the outside area of the mall don't have better protection from the elements and do close at the same time as the indoor part with no good reason.

Other shops in the centre include, La Senza, Julian Graves, New Look, WH Smith, H&M, Athena and the wonderful Cornish Pasty Shop. The centre is well laid out, with both escalators and lifts to move between the 4 floors (the top floor is purely TK Maxx, and the bottom floor New Look (and an external entrance to JJB). All in all, worth a visit if you're in the Harrogate area, the centre is centrally situated, and is near both the railway and bus stations.

I must stress, there is nothing exactly wrong with the rest of the shop, however I personally find the layout poor, meaning there is a great feeling of a Primark-like clutter all around the shop. Combine this with the great number of shoppers you find in there and the highly pressurised air, it just doesn't make for the nicest shopping experience. On the plus side, I have found the staff to be friendly, and they do stock some good brands all under one roof. It may be worth a look, but in my opinion as all of their products (I believe) can be found elsewhere, it really isn't a very necessary shopping experience, and one that I'd avoid if I could.

The store is fairly large and modern and stands out within the town centre, it is over multiple floors, stocking a decent range of Menswear and Womenswear, although the Home section is much worse than other Next stores. There is an Italian-style cafe, Caffe Massarella inside the store too, which is a useful place to grab a quick coffee while shopping. The interior of the store was clean and modern, and easy to get around the store. The staff seemed friendly enough. PRO TIP: If shopping in Harrogate, you may want to go to this store last, they are open slightly later than most of the other stores in town, closing at 18:00 (still early but better than other shops nearby. 4*

You'll find affordable furniture, household goods, lamps, curtains and collectables and they give you a good discount if paying cash. Someone said they re-upholster chairs/sofas too with groovy 50s fabric. If you're after something unusual for your home or you're a proper mod collector, you wont be disappointed. Just ask for their unit (which is at the back of the main shop). I recently bought a starburst clock and a Tretchikoff print and am very happy about it!
