The layout of the mall is easy to follow, many of the stores are in the exterior part of the mall, with TK Maxx taking up the whole of the top floor. They do close at 6 pm Monday to Saturday, and at 4:30 pm on Sundays, so do plan ahead if planning to visit in the afternoon. The building the mall is housed in is actually reasonably grand and impressive from the exterior, but in terms of the interior, it's nothing too impressive or easy on the eye in the main retail area. 3* - They have some good brands here, but the selection is small in general, it's a shame the stores that are located in the outside area of the mall don't have better protection from the elements and do close at the same time as the indoor part with no good reason.

As the previous reviewer mentioned, the Victoria Shopping Centre is a lovely old building, that…read morecontains a fairly smallish, but nice selection of high street shops, with a huge TK Maxx on the top floor that should not be missed! Other shops in the centre include, La Senza, Julian Graves, New Look, WH Smith, H&M, Athena and the wonderful Cornish Pasty Shop. The centre is well laid out, with both escalators and lifts to move between the 4 floors (the top floor is purely TK Maxx, and the bottom floor New Look (and an external entrance to JJB). All in all, worth a visit if you're in the Harrogate area, the centre is centrally situated, and is near both the railway and bus stations.

The staff seem friendly enough and the store was both clean and presentable. I like how the Food Hall can be accessed through street level, which means you don't have to bother with finding the escalator/elevator, as you would from the main entrance - much quicker to get in and out when looking for groceries! I do find the store closes far too early, closing a supermarket at 6 pm seems unacceptable to me, compared to nearby ASDA which closes at midnight, and Waitrose which closes at 8 pm, I've found most Marks and Spencer stores elsewhere to stay open a little later, generally until 8 pm, which I much prefer. 3* - A great brand to have in the town centre, improving opening hours and stock levels are big improvements for the near future.

The food section is very large, and includes a lunch to go section, which includes some nice, fairly reasonably priced sandwiches. The store also contains a cafe, which in my opinion is slightly overpriced for what it is, but may be worth a look. Great Marks and Spencers, with huge stock variety. Worth a trip.

I like Habitat, don't get me wrong, but really, why bother when you can get good quality furniture for much less. Especially if you are a student! Which is perfect for this area. Flocks of students come and go through Leeds, moving every year and needing to get rid of or attain furniture every time they do. Junk Again are aware of this and have cleverly positioned themselves not far from the postcodes that are predominantly student populated. If you are looking for a cabinet, a table, or arm chair, or are looking to get rid of, a fridge, a freezer, or chimney pot, Junk Again is a great place to go. They are slightly chaotic but that just adds to that old fashioned feel of shops of this type. Plus no-one will look down their polished nose at you as they so often do in Habitat.

That, sadly, was not the case in the end but that's more to do with the Estate Agent and building than anything else. However, pretty much the only thing that we required for our move was a sofa and some arm chairs. Enter: Junk Again! My old housemate had spotted Junk Again on her way through Woodhouse and suggested that we tried here for a cheap second hand suite. I was game for any bargain and so when she called me, all a fluster, to tell me about this awesome sofa, two arm chairs and a pouffe for a mere £40, I came immediately to the scene. Yes. That's right. All that for forty flippin' pounds. The friendly chap explained that he had planned to have them cleaned but hadn't yet, so was willing to let them go for that much - all we needed to do was clean them. No probs, Handy Hire in Headingley solved that one for us dirt cheap too! We couldn't have been more chuffed. Inside you'll find an array of lovely old furniture and the odd antique, for seriously cheap prices. My advice is: if you're moving look here first. I've a few more things I need myself so I'm planning a re-visit very soon...
