I especially loved working with Patti, one of the leasing agents here. I've known her as a resident for several years, and she was invaluable and savvy in helping me renew my lease this year. Unfortunately, our experience at Capitol View has been extremely disappointing, leading us to not…read morerenew our lease and jump at the opportunity to leave. Our first issue with the building started when we first moved, when we discovered a significant roach infestation in our original apartment, which ultimately required us to relocate to another unit within the property. This experience was traumatic and unacceptable for a "luxury" apartment. However, even with the roaches, the worst problem capital view has is the management. Over Labor Day weekend I saw a man hiding in a stall in the women's locker room, which led me to telling management about the incident. Given the nature of the incident, we expected management to conduct a thorough investigation, address any security vulnerabilities, and clearly communicate what steps were being taken to protect residents. Instead, the first response I received from management, who is still employed there, was that "they would not have been liable if anything were to happen to me." Regardless of the fact that this statement is blatantly incorrect, that type of response is extremely inappropriate in a situation like this. Management chose to take zero steps to mitigate a potentially dangerous situation, such as installing cameras in the hallway outside of the locker room or installing a lock on the door. They also misrepresented the steps they claimed they were taking to address the issue. We discovered this by asking security whether those measures were actually being implemented, and security told us that they had never even been informed of the incident. If that were not enough, management then told residents that I was lying about the situation when those residents brought their own concerns to management regarding the same issues. They also claimed that they did not see a man on the cameras, while, in the same breath, telling me that there were no cameras in that hallway capable of showing who was entering or exiting the women's locker room. These statements are directly contradictory and further demonstrate the lack of transparency and seriousness with which management handled the situation. Between our experience with the pest infestation, having to relocate apartments, and the subsequent handling of a serious security concern, we ultimately lost confidence in the property and its management. If you're considering renting here, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Residents should be able to feel safe and confident that serious concerns will be taken seriously. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience at Capitol View.

Finding a great place to live in Nashville is hard enough, but my apartment search came with a…read moremassive hurdle: I didn't have standard W2 income. Most property management companies would have immediately stamped a "no" on my application and moved on. Fortunately, I met Madi Rose at The Morris. Madi was the leasing agent who gave me my initial tour, and she genuinely worked miracles to help me get approved and moved in. On top of being a miracle worker with the application process, her tour was top-tier and made me fall in love with the building immediately. The Units & Amenities The apartments here are sleek, modern, and renovated. You get high ceilings, stainless steel appliances, and gorgeous dark walnut floors and cabinets. Noise insulation is incredible--despite being in Music City and right near Vanderbilt (a mix that usually guarantees late-night noise), I have literally never been bothered by sound. The thick concrete construction does heavy lifting here. The community amenities are equally impressive: -19th-Floor Sky Deck: The rooftop pool, gym, lounge, and deck sit 19 floors up with incredible views. -Music Practice Room: A clutch addition for a city full of musicians. -Package Security: Concierge handles packages reliably, so you never have to worry about missing deliveries. -Hotel Style Bellhop Carts: It's probably still best for you to buy a wagon, but the building has hotel-style carts you can use. Service & Maintenance -Madi has remained an absolute lifesaver post-move-in. Whenever I've had questions, she's super communicative and makes sure I feel heard. Case in point: when I couldn't find my ONT box for fiber internet, she personally walked me through taking down the Leviton panel to get plugged in. That level of hands-on support is super rare. AT&T's phone rep couldn't even do that. -Maintenance is just as sharp. I had a minor issue with my dishwasher, put in a ticket, and they were at my door same-day to get it fixed quickly. The Minor Nitpicks No place is 100% perfect, so a couple of realistic notes: -The Floors: The wood floors have a wax coating that had a few pre-existing scuffs/breaks when I moved in. -Window Coverings: The electronic window shades are a cool feature, but the fabric is a bit sheer. If you need pitch-black darkness to sleep, you might struggle with the light bleed. -Parking: The garage is (mis)managed by Metropolis, which comes with the usual Metropolis headaches--zero enforcement for people double-parking or squeezing massive F-350s into designated compact spots. The Verdict I've lived in plenty of terrible apartments over the years, and I honestly don't remember ever giving a 5-star review to a residential building before. Trust me when I say The Morris is easily the best complex I've ever lived in. Since this is so close to downtown, it's obviously going to be pricey. And it's gated because it's in a kind of ghetto area. My biggest problem with the gate (and doors too) was getting visitors in. When people use the PIN pad to punch in, it calls your phone, and then you have to punch a number on your phone to let them in. But it's very finicky. Sometimes it would take me five times punching my phone before the gate/door would open for the guest. It was really annoying. Other than that, I enjoyed living here. They'd have fun events every month in the clubhouse, like wine and painting nights, St. Patrick's Day parties, and food trucks in the parking lot. Every building has an elevator too, which is great. They have a fitness center, game room, and they even let you reserve the bar area or game room for a few hours if you want to host a party. The only other bad thing that was annoying was that they wouldn't allow you to nail decorations to the wall, so you had to tape or Velcro everything. Maintenance was great. If there were ever any plumbing or electrical issues, they'd be there right away. If you can afford it, I'd definitely recommend OMC. But it is quite expensive, which is one reason I moved. But I'd say it's worth it if you've got the money to spare. It's super convenient and just a couple miles from the heart of downtown.

They have all gone out of their way for us on many different occasions. To keep it short, we have lived at a few different places where the opposite was the case, so it was refreshing to meet such kind, helpful people. Truly. The sky lounge is the most amazing, unique feature of the building itself. I had so much fun meeting new friends over wine and a gorgeous view of downtown Nashville up in the sky lounge. There is also a huge TV you can log into your Netflix and watch whatever with friends. So many points for the sky lounge. Crossroads has a ton of social events up there, too. I've heard other buildings in Nashville are not nearly as social as this. Coming from NYC, it was almost unbelievable that the elevator at Crossroads never once broke down! Everywhere else I've lived has had a broken elevator all of the time lol, but never happened at crossroads. Our unit was on the top floor, very high up, so very beautiful view. A huge 2-bedroom corner unit with 3 bathrooms and an island kitchen. Beautiful! I will say my only complaint is that our oven never worked. We ended up using the oven in the Sky Lounge down the hall to cook our thanksgiving turkey and other things like pizza, cupcakes, etc. The top of our stove did work, but apparently a part is missing for certain ovens in the building so ask about that first for sure if it's important to you. Love the gym, love the pool, love the location! Don't love the parking garage, but we bought a reserved space so it was fine. They need more guest parking, though! Maybe they will fix this in the future. One thing to consider... I am used to high rises so I don't care if the windows don't open. But for some, this may be an issue. It's a trade off - you get floor to ceiling windows, but your windows don't open. Clearly I love the floor-to-ceiling natural light situation :) So anyway, really I'm the type of person who is happy in any type of building, but what really sets the crossroads apart is 1. The people in the leasing office / how helpful, kind, and laid back they are and 2. The social life in the building itself. It might be the most social building I've ever lived in. Really loved it here and I would've renewed our lease, but we had to move out of state unexpectedly.

I genuinely liked living here until the new management company took over. I lived at this property…read morefor a year and had virtually no issues under the previous management. The last month, however, has completely changed my opinion of this place. The biggest issue has been the way residents are treated. I received a lease renewal quoting me approximately **$6,000/month**, despite my current rent being around **$3,000/month**. When I questioned the pricing and ultimately declined to renew, I was met with extremely unprofessional communication from management, including an email from the leasing manager that I felt was insulting and condescending toward me. What makes the situation even more absurd is that after I said I would not be renewing, **the exact same apartment was listed for approximately $2,900/month**. So I am genuinely confused how management can claim that $6,000 was the new "base rent" for my apartment, only to immediately advertise that same apartment for less than I was already paying once I declined the renewal. And unfortunately, the rent situation isn't even the only problem. **Parking is absolutely horrendous.** Finding a parking space can be nearly impossible, which is ridiculous for the amount residents are paying to live here. **The dog park is disgusting.** There is frequently dog poop everywhere and the smell can be unbearable. **The pool has repeatedly had issues** and has been out of service multiple times. Most recently, it was covered in what appeared to be mold or moss, which is especially concerning for a shared amenity. **The trash chutes have broken repeatedly**, and when valet trash wasn't operating, residents were instructed to carry their trash downstairs themselves. The one time I did this, I noticed what appeared to be homeless people staying in the trash areas, which made me feel extremely unsafe. What I find most frustrating is the disconnect between what management says about "valuing" and "appreciating" residents and how residents are actually treated. I have never experienced a situation where I was given a renewal price that was roughly **double my current rent**, questioned it, declined to renew, and then watched the advertised price for the exact same apartment drop below my original rent. After a year of living here, I can honestly say that the change in management has completely changed my opinion of this property. **I would not recommend living here to anyone, and honestly, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.**
