What should have been a simple job turned into a complete nightmare :( During the work, John admitted he accidentally caused damage to an interior pipe and asked if he could create a hole in my interior dining room drywall to fix it. Of course I said no, had him stop work, and had a different plumber look at the damage. The new plumber confirmed the additional work that now needs to be done and gave me an estimate. I spent months trying to resolve this with John at MacGyver Handyman Service. He acknowledged the situation, agreed to pay (in writing) for the damage he caused, but never did. I hired Larry from M&M Quality Construction to renovate my units and make them rent-ready. I was…read morefully transparent from the start that I do not live in Cleveland and asked directly whether I could trust him to handle the work responsibly. He assured me I could. Unfortunately, he did not fulfill what we agreed on. I paid over $12,000, and the work was left incomplete. The units were not rent-ready, debris and trash were left throughout the property, and key items we discussed were never finished. The photos I attached show only part of the condition he left the property in. After receiving payment, Larry stopped responding and ultimately blocked me instead of taking accountability or addressing the issues. As a property owner who relied on clear communication and trust, this was extremely disappointing and costly. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend hiring someone else if you are considering renovating a property. This contractor was unreliable, unresponsive, and did not deliver the agreed-upon work.
