Went to Ox Club (bottom level of Headrow House) for brunch yesterday and was not disappointed. I had booked a couple days in advance thankfully, because it got quite busy around 1 o'clock and there was a bit of a wait.
Quite Scandi/basic interior, and surprisingly a small amount of tables. Menu catered to a lot of different needs, they had a traditional breakfast, french toast, pancakes (all with a little bit of a twist) and more unusual options such as cauliflower shawarma, bubble and squeak, steak and eggs.
We ended up going for the French Toast, which I think is maybe the best french toast I've ever had. Ever. Coconut shavings on top, maple syrup and a maple siracha butter melting on top which was unreal. I wanna go back specifically for that butter. Also tried the Bubble and Squeak which I was less impressed with, served in a skillet and was just small boiled new potatoes, average tasting sausage with a fried egg on top and a side of gravy. I think I definitely made the wrong choice, wouldn't order again of I went back.
Overall though, a cool venue and a nice experience. Would definitely return and be interested to see what they had on offer for dinner. read more
