I was extremely depressed after the unexpected passing of my father during COVID and having a hard time taking care of myself (my bad) but what really put me off was when Dr. Scherer told me that wasn't an excuse and I needed to "put my big girl pants on," same visit- some of the ortho assistants were huddled around a computer surrounded by MY picture talking about how disgusting & ugly I looked and making fun of me. The only reason I knew it was me is they surround a picture of yourself with your progress. Like imagine looking over and hearing that? What are you, high schoolers? Also- their treatment plans are super unorganized and they don't communicate with each other. Had Dr. Scherer tell me on a visit to only wear my bands at night, then on my next visit a dental assistant told me that I was lying, and continued to gaslight me when I showed her the notes I had taken from the previous appointment (which I started doing because this wasn't the first time it had happened) and another Dr- Amy then told me I needed to wear them all the time. I didn't have buttons that weren't changed on the invisalign plan removed and replaced and had tooth decay so bad under one I had to get a core & crown done (another $700 with insurance) This was just my experience- but they also messed up my little brother's teeth with his expander by giving him care too early so he now needs braces to fix the gap in his teeth they caused. My sister was called racial slurs by the assistants. I would not trust Dr. Wax to take care of your family's orthodontic work. My entire family had a horrible experience here and now needs even more work done- not just orthodontic, but dental that's costing even more.

The actual services they provide appear to be of good quality and effective so far, as we are only…read morea few months into my daughter's braces. The office itself is bright and clean. The staff attitudes/friendliness vary wildly from overly giddy to aloof to downright confrontational. After a few visits, we were sent an invitation to do an online survey, which I filled out. I graded them poorly in one area because I think it is odd/ridiculous that a service provider would only schedule followup appointments between 9 and noon, which is a time that 95% of their clients (kids) are unavailable (in school). I'm aware of many orthos in other areas that have early morning/evening/weekend appts, for these visits, which is much more customer friendly. A few days after the survey, we started getting calls from the office. Each time, we were not available to take the call. This led to a phone-tag thing that over a few weeks consisted of 10 calls. Since they don't have voicemail at the office, I asked someone to take a message. They refused. So I asked for an email address. They refused. So then I posted a note on their Facebook page, asking them to kindly stop calling. The calls ended. A few weeks later, my wife took the kid in for an adjustment. My wife was asked to come back to the treatment area, which was unusual. Once in the room with our daughter, one of their staffers verbally attacked my wife. "What's the deal with you posting on Facebook?!? " Etc. My wife was shocked and totally unaware of anything, since I had handled the survey and subsequent phone calls. Especially concerning was the fact that our daughter was in the room and completely embarrassed. After composing herself, my wife stopped the staffer's rant, returned to the front desk and asked to see the manager. Once sitting down with the practice manager, my wife explained the situation. The manager apologized profusely and said the staffer was inappropriate and would be reprimanded. The problem here is that with braces, you can't really just change providers mid-stream. So we are forced to maintain a relationship with this office, even though we all cringe at the thought of visiting this facility. My wife now refuses to step foot in the place. This week, we had a return visit for another adjustment. No problems this time.
