There, the pumpkins grew in the ground and you chose them off the vine. Here, they adorn church parking lots and you chose them from their perch in a haystack. In the end, the result is just the same and this pumpkin patch is extra special. Here, you can find fun for the whole family. Everything from rides to food and drinks. You pay a few bucks to get in and then have a blast with your kids until they're so worn out they fall asleep in the car on the ride home. It's the perfect kind of family night!

The kids were able to pet and feed the farm animals, play on the playground (they loved the swing carousel), launch potatoes in the potato launchers, go on a tractor pulled hay ride and the highlight was the pony rides. FYI: you need to supply your own potatoes, carrots and apples to feed the animals. All though the weather was hot; Julie provided us with a generator to run an industrial fan at our assigned pavilion. We were able to host a party for 50+ adults and children at an affordable price. If you are looking for a unique experience and venue for a party, I would recommend Owl Creek Farms (ask for Julie, she is very responsive). Pumpkin Patch, flower field, apple cannon, kettle corn popcorn, slides, the corn maize of course, and tons of other activities for the whole family. We also love the live music. Sadly this year we had our first major bad experience with the staff. So Hope and David.. this is for you who offered no apologies, no sense of understanding, and who encouraged us to take to the internet to express our dissatisfaction. We found ourselves lost in the corn maize, and our older boys (age 12 and 15) forged ahead to help us and a group of other families find our way out. They got ahead of us so we did not see fully what happened but we walked up on a female employee, Hope, cutting off our boys bands and sticking white hand on them letting the world no they are no longer welcome inside the corn maize for the rest of our day. We come to find out the boys saw the next marker to help us out and they stepped over some yellow caution tape in an open space to get to it and back track to help us out. But Hope was essentially hiding in the corn, and gave no warning, no offer for assistance, and no human decency towards our boys and instead immediately punished them. When we confronted Hope, she admitted that this was the most difficult part of the maize but continued to give me no apologies or any sense of respect or customer service when explaining the boys were now banned from the maize. Then she audibly huffed in annoyance when we did not allow her to take the boys from us and had to escort our whole group out of the maize. From there David, a manager was brought down from a cherry picker over seeing the maize and proceeded to treat us in the same cold and unapologetic manner. To top it all off he could not truly weigh in on the situation because he was on his phone while "watching" the maize. Overall we were extremely disappointed to be treated so poorly and without any decency from these two employees, Hope and David. We never received an apology, a crumb of understanding, or any politeness. We understand our boys disobeyed a rule, but they did not destroy any property, were not rude or disrespectful to anyone, and were just trying to be helpful and take the lead in helping our family out of the maize.

You can't just show up without calling first to make sure trees are still available, and if you're hoping for one of those big, fluffy, picture-perfect trees, you really need to go the day they open, or at least within that first week. My family and I have been getting our trees from Pipe Creek for five years now, and every year it's the same: the best trees go fast. We don't live in a state where these trees grow abundantly, so the full, fluffy ones are always the first to go. I actually plan ahead and don't work on opening day, and I always get there at least 15 minutes early. Last year was wild for us, and we ended up going a week late. I already knew the tree I had envisioned would be gone, so we compromised and picked something a little smaller than usual. And honestly? We still loved it. We love this place and enjoy the experience every single time. Today is opening day, and I'm so excited to head out and pick our beautiful tree!

They also had your typical turkey legs, funnel cakes, kettle corn, etc. We got there shortly after they opened on Sunday and stayed almost until they closed. Our almost two year old loved it. The parking was super easy to get in and out. You do have to purchase tickets online, then show the QR code at the front. They also carry a number of jarred items (honey, molasses, pickles, jams, sauces) as well as locally raised meats and I enjoyed going aisle by aisle looking my through their inventory I was also happy to see that they carry a number of gluten free items, including flour and pastas that I'm able to find at my local grocery store. I also loved that they have fresh baked breads and desserts, as well as sandwiches to order to go (didn't try any on this visit, but they looked excellent online!). I did pick up a bit of their jalapeño beef jerky which wasn't super tough like jerky sometimes is and also was super salty, which was appreciated. The staff seemed friendly and ready to help. Across from the store is a bbq spot with seating and I'll be sure to visit there on my next visit. The ONLY reason why I couldn't give a 5-star review this time is I had a very hard time finding the prices on a number of items (especially in their freezer/refrigerated sections). It made it a bit inconvenient and I didn't want to keep going up to the counter to check the costs each time. Other than that, I'd highly recommend a visit!
