Never a bad choice at Owens Pub. On the off season in Wildwood not Much is open for good food, you can always trust Owens will be there for you. We went last light and once again the food was fantastic! Hubby had the French onion soup that was great. I had the crab bisque which was great has a little kick but not enough to make me not enjoy. That hit the spot on such a cold night. Then we had the steak and shrimp scampi and the seafood scampi. Both were absolutely fantastic! I went home in a food coma! Oh and did I mention over all these years Owens Pubs has found a Way to keep great food super affordable which is always a Great help while spending so much money on the boardwalk. Owens is our go-to pub in North Wildwood. The food is always good and priced better than anywhere else on the island especially if you get one of the daily specials. Happy hour is also decent but just like everywhere else the prices of drinks have crept up but are still reasonable. In the last 3 years I've seen the draft beer price at happy hour go from $1.50 (crazy cheap) to $4 (still a bargain) and a Vodka martini go from $6-$10. We've been coming here for many years and the food has been consistent. We noticed a change on this visit. The French onion soup was noticeably different and better than ever. The wings were just as good but they were lightly breaded (never were in the past) and had less sauce. The chicken parm was still good but much thicker and less crispy. Oh my, what has happened? Did the old chefs quit? Are you under new management? What ever it is you need to fix it. It's about the food, sub par. I have frequented your establishment since 2017. And have witnessed a steady decline. This year is the worst. Maybe you need a "Gordon Ramsey intervention". Increased prices, less food, less quality. We got here at 6:45 and we didn't leave till 9:30. If you want to wait a hour to a hour and a half for a table this is the place for you. They have 5 benches out front but most likely you'll be sitting on a curb or standing till your legs give out. Also the music is so loud you won't be able to place a order with out repeating it to your waiter at least one .After waiting close to a hour and a half to get seated it took a extra 15 minute to get a water let alone a drink. We placed a order for the fried pickles and waited for 45 minutes just to get told they forgot to make them. Then was told they only have one waitress lol The food was half decent tho so I will no give it a 1 star but I will never be coming and will not recommend it to anyone. Overall Impression - Very DISAPPOINTING and the place was not crowded at all We arrived (3 of us) and looked at the specials board which listed Maryland Crab Soup (my fav) but the waitress stated they don't have it I requested they ask the kitchen - They had it and I ordered it - The flavor was good but it was devoid of any recognizable crab meat. As an appetizer we ordered loaded fries which was an extremely small order I ordered a Grilled cheese, bacon, tomato and onions. The food runner brought out a sandwich that no where near resembled what I ordered and it was returned and I had to wait for the correct sandwich to come out When it finally arrived the cheese (what little was on the sandwich) was not melted at all. Our friend ordered a Caesar Salad with Chicken that cane out as a scrawny plate of romaine lettuce with chicken (no parm cheese, no croutons and NO dressing) My wife ordered a Buffalo Chicken Cheese Steak which actually was correct when delivered. Also decided to have a dinner as well. Overall take away is don't expect the best meal, but you can't beat the prices. Wings, good as anyone else's, especially at $5. Dinner, again, Very reasonable price $19 for ny strip and two sides, roll and butter, and salad. The salad was a few leafs of romaine. The dressing had more to it and gave it substance. Otherwise was like air. Roll, serviceable. A little chewy, but hey $19! Steak, small and dry. Asked for medium and was cooked all the way through, so really extra dry now, but hey $19! My grandmother had heard from some locals about the promo deals they run so we stopped in to see if the $1.95 Cheesesteak was worth the hype. First off, I know some people have written reviews complaining about not allowing underage (Under 21) people in without a parent; both doors have wording that you must be 21 to enter unless accompanied by parent or guardian. We got there on the earlier side and it was definitely an older crowd, in my opinion. Could have been due to the timing though. Now $1.95 Cheesesteaks do come with some catches; the waitress did tell us that you need to purchase a beverage or the cheesesteak is full price. Second, not all cheesesteaks are included; there was a card on the table detailing which ones were included and ones you could upgrade to for $1. I prefer chicken cheesesteaks which were not, but if you like regular ones, it's a good deal. Cheesesteaks ($1.95 or regular price) were served with a handful of potato chips and 3 large pickle chips. Our waitress was okay. Polite enough and our food came out quick and hot. I liked that the chicken was shredded and not huge cubes like many of the places in south jersey seem to make it. My only complaint is we were never offered drink refills. (I think she did get slammed with tables though and then a group of regulars came in that she was chatting with). I believe there may have been bar specials too since the bar area was full. The service was atrocious, the waitress never checked on us after the runner brought our food. The place claims to have great cheesesteaks, but they were terrible, fatty meat, and the best part, no cheese on them. Place only takes cash, which is beyond fishy when every other place that is angry about credit card fees simply adds 3% (which is fine and a lot more convenient than carrying $100). Went there on Thursday with a group of 5. We had to wait outside an hour in the rain but we had umbrellas & sucked it up and waited because my aunt really wanted to eat there. The older woman who was the hostess was absolutely rude and nasty (to everyone not just our group)...I don't know how she keeps her job unless she is an owner or relative of the owner(s). Love Owens ! Great neighborhood institution with great food, delicious reasonably priced drinks and super friendly staff. The weeknight specials they offer are amazing and always delicious! John the bartender at Owen's pub refused to take my wife and I's order. He greeted us and asked what we wanted to drink and we replied that we needed a drink menu to see what was on draft. He replied and asked what we wanted to drink instead of getting us a menu and then walked away when we asked again. We waited another 20 minutes while John walked up next to where we sat and took everyone else's order while purposefully ignoring us. The two people sitting next to us were regulars and said that it was absurd and they didn't know why he was acting like that. Ordered a grilled Reuben. Bread was grilled perfectly . Great meat, sauerkraut, and 1000 island ratio. Always get an extra side of 1000 island incase it is too dry. But this was not dry at all. My wife and I went to eat at Owens Pub monday evening.We were shocked that the manager spent most of the time engaging customers without wearing a mask.He was very arrogant when we both addressed this with him.We both got the impression that he was feeling it financially based on the few and far between customers that actually showed up. We noticed his staff were pressing customers near us hasseling them if they needed more refills and and both got the impression it was all orchestrated by the management.We found the food semi tolerable but based on not practicing covid regulations and the harrasment of fellow customers suffice it to say we will never visit this pub again.And will pass the word around for our friends and clients to do the same. read more

I found a place to get RC COLA last summer bringing back youthful memories. Very famous w locals and now with tourists so it could be quite crowded at times but worth the wait. I go on Mondays for the cheesesteaks for $1.95 special and dollar beers at the bar. This week I had 2 mushroom cheesesteaks on an about 8 inch roll and 2 Yeunglings and the total was under $6. This place is top notch, beautiful inside...far from your average sports bar. The staff are friendly and the weekly specials make it cheaper to eat out than cook! The hamburgers were delicious as was the Owen's Crab Bisque. The onion rings are also very good. This was our first visit and we will be back soon! This is one of my fav places to eat at the beach. Daily specials and a great, lively, fun atmosphere (w quizzo)! My favs are the garlic parm wings, crab cake app, and chicken parm dinner. I had the bacon wrapped scallops, which were good, but nothing special to them. I remember having the chicken cheesesteak a very long time ago and really enjoying it.
