A super great place to find the finer things in life for a steal. You bid you buy, no bid you cry.

VIP Estate Sales - Past Estate Sale

    VIP Estate Sales

I was driving by today and saw the VIP sign for an estate sale. Decided to stop. Have never been…read moreto a sale by VIP. I have been to many estate sales by other companies and consider myself experienced in the ways of estate sales. I was more than disappointed with these people. The woman at the register was rude as can be. Someone was standing in front of her asking for her or someone from the company to speak to his father on the phone. Without hesitation she snapped "NO". She continues working with no other explanation to the young man. Then she said to him the dad already called and talked to someone. Just a rude woman. Some of the prices were outrageous. Asking $3.00 for a 4x4 Rubbermaid food container? $10 for an old pot? They are allowed to price as they see fit. I found 3 things I was interested in and one was priced way too high. I walked up to pay for my items and asked if she would take $1 less. $1. She looked at me, clicked her tongue and gave a huge sigh and said today is full price day. I am not a child and clicking your tongue at me is so ridiculous. I left the item and left. Every other estate sale company that I have been to lets you haggle the price. Patti was her name just so you know. She was rude to me and the younger man and so disrespectful. She is in the wrong line of business. Never going to a VIP sale again. You also need to rename because you treated no one like a VIP.

The pricing was unrealistic; two items were $100.00 which was the same as the local hardware store…read morebrand new in the box.

    Inland Northwest Estate Sales

Inland Northwest Estate Sales We hired Inland Northwest…read moreEstate Sales to conduct a "Living" Estate Sale for us prior to a recent move. Because of several incidents that happened prior to, during, and after the sale, we cannot recommend this company. The worst incident is described below: My husband and I came to the house, which had been sold and was under contract, the morning before the sale was to begin. We noticed that a couple of items had been removed from the home, a pressure washer and a patio set from our back deck. While removing the patio set from our back deck, the employees had obviously drug the set through our kitchen and made two long scratches on the hardwood floors. We contacted the owner, Aimee Howe, immediately do discuss the damage. She assured us that the scratches would be buffed out and repaired. When we came back to the home after the sale (the evening before the new owners were to have their walk through and sign closing documents), we noticed that the scratches were still there. While Ms. Howe stated that they had done their best to remove the scratches, it did not look to us that anything at all had been done. The scratches were still very obvious to us, as well as the new home owners! We were forced to negotiate with the new owners in order for the house to close, and had to pay them $750.00. Inland Northwest Estate sales comment was to offer a $250 courtesy credit and perhaps we should have our homeowners insurance should take care of it. Why are items, such as a pressure washer and patio set, being removed from the home before the sale? Northwest Estate Sales, in their sales pitch, talks a lot about all items being sold to be time/date stamped in their reporting. Those two items were time/date stamped as being sold after the sale had begun. Makes you wonder just how accurate their reporting really is. Northwest Estate Sales has a contract which states that monies will be sent within 7 days of the conclusion of the sale. We did not receive those funds until over two weeks and many phone calls after the sale concluded. Bill Sauther

The concerns I have with this company are a matter of security, lack of integrity on their part, and their unprofessionalism. My experience with this company led to several issues but at a high level, the following is an overview of the biggest concerns: Being that I lived out of town, I needed to make sure that I found an experienced company that could manage the entire estate sale and could work on guaranteed dates so that I could arrange vacation from work and travel. I spoke with the owner, Aimee Howe, a few times over the phone regarding my parent's estate and she did a great job informing of all the tasks her company manages; from setup, pricing, the sale, etc. My family and I took time off work and went to Spokane and met Aimee in person for a walk-through. Everything was fine and a contract was signed with agreed dates to start. Aimee returned again the next day to pick up the house keys and was supposed to also bring a copy of the signed contract. When she arrived she stated she forgot the contract but would bring it back in a few hours when her and her team would return to begin setup. While she was there I informed her that I would be onsite during the setup but had no intentions on being seen or possibly even at the site during the sale; since again being from out of town we opted to sleep at the house versus having the extra expense of a hotel. We made sure to clear out an entire room so we would not be in the way at all. Aimee seemed to become uncomfortable noting that they would be making a lot of noise. I assured it was fine but just wanted to let her know since she had disclosed earlier that her and her crew carry weapons, I did not want them being startled since I would be in that one room while they setup. Aimee thanked me for letting her know and asked for the keys. She stated that they were excited to start the sale and would see us soon. That was the last we saw of Aimee. Nearly four hours later we received a text from Aimee (paraphrasing) stating she felt there was a lack of trust since we would be at the location and that she decided she was not going to do the sale. We immediately called her and she refused to answer the phone. We left voicemails. We sent texts asking for our keys to be returned. Hours later she finally responded via text that our keys would be returned sometime the next day by someone we didn't even know. It took several calls and text messages to get her to finally agree to return the keys. I actually was on the phone with the police when she finally responded that someone named John would return the keys that night. Imagine my concern when some guy finally arrives almost 10 that night with our keys. He was not John. We never met him before but he did have the keys and also the contract we requested several times. Concern here is that Aimee or her team could have made copy of the keys. If she felt uncomfortable doing the sale she should not have taken our keys nor should she have given or keys to someone we never met after she promised that was the only one that would handle the keys. Aimee was very unprofessional in the way to decided to inform she would not handle the sale. She was dishonest in saying that they would do the sale and that she would return our keys. She also did not honor the contract that all parties signed which clearly states that we may be on the property at anytime, including during setup and the sale. Unfortunately, we did not come across other complaints (like the one located in link below) until after having signed a contract with Inland Northwest Estate Sales http://www.yellowpages.com/spokane-wa/mip/inland-northwest-estate-sales-505156100 and after talking to other estate companies, found out that Aimee's actions we completely out of order and that no other company would have been concerned with us being at he location. Aimee's actions cost us a lot time and it cost us money from extended travel. If you are looking for an honest company that honors their contract, you definitely do not want to hire Inland Northwest Estates.
