Un comportamiento muy desagradable por parte de la camarera italiana Silvia y la chica alta y negra. Siempre son groseras, pero anoche fue muy malo. Entré y vi a las camareras tomando chupitos. Más tarde vi a ambas chicas preparándose licor. Fueron extremadamente groseras y no quisieron atenderme cuando les pedí una bebida. La chica italiana me dijo de forma muy desagradable: "Puedes esperar", mientras elegía canciones. Luego se fue a la cocina para evitar atenderme. Les dije que yo era un cliente que pagaba, no como ellas, que bebían siempre gratis. No había mucha gente, eran sobre las 20:30. Después de esperar y de que la italiana se burlara de mí, le dije a la otra camarera que me atendiera. Tuve que discutir con ella también. La actitud irrespetuosa de estas chicas es inaceptable. Later I saw both girls make liquor drinks for themselves. They were extremely rude and then did not want to serve me when i asked for a drink. the italian girl said very ugly to me, "you can wait" as she was picking songs to play. Then went into the kitchen to avoid serving me. I told them I am a paying customer not like them drinking always for free. It was not busy at all this was about 8:30. after waiting and the italian mocking me i told the other waitress to serve me. I had to argure with her too. the disrespectful attitude these girls have is unacceptable. I live 1 minute away and should be able to drink and eat and not have a drunk young girl disrespect me or mock me. I do not know them or did anything to them to treat me this way in an establishment they work for. You need better staff in the evening. read more

Lack of customer service, bartender and possibly owner was very rude when I returned the tinto de verano and asked for a different drink because my daughter was ok with hers, only because she didn't want to offend the bartender. When I asked him to cancel our food order and give me the bill for the three drinks we cursed at me in front of my husband and daughters by saying "me estas jodiendo?" and in English it means " You're f*#ng with me?" I was surprised and shocked how he had the audacity to speak to a paying customer like that, no respect for a woman either. The bartender had a mustache and bun, not sure if he was the manager but definitely steer away from rude and disrespectful bartender and hopefully they make a better tinto de verano going forward. read more

A great local spot with LOTS of food and drink options. Waitstaff is very attentive and friendly. Tourist friendly and free Wi-Fi! The food is excellent and made to order so be prepared to wait. I had toast with salmon and Brie . It was delicious. My husband had a cured ham with sun dried tomatoes and it was flavorful. read more

Ambience is great and is open late in the night all days! They also have Red Bull for my Jager.. so I give them one extra star for that.. Character is the key. It mostly comes from the quirky staff, but the setting helps too. The outside seating area seems to be the only worthy option, however I've not visited it at night. Friends recommended it as a great place for breakfast. I managed to find a vegan gluten free option on the menu with a plate of over-grilled veggies. Location: Honestly, it was my first day, I hadn't slept on my overnight flight and I immediately took off to explore after getting to my flat SO... I'm going to say the Gothic quarter. Maybe El Born. The place: I sat outside so can't comment on the interior. The goods: Basic menu with sandwiches and a few other things. I had a sandwich with home-made sausage and roasted peppers. It was very good! The only thing is that there was a shortage of sausage between the slices of that fresh, tasty bread. I also ordered potatoes that were served the 'traditional' way, that is, cut into small pieces and baked in the oven. I'm told many places deep fry, though. Anyway, they were delicious! To end my meal, I had a Cortado, which, surprisingly, was awesome. Service: OK. Price point: 9.60€ so you can't beat that. read more

Oh, how many days have I spent sitting outside at Oviso in Plaza Trippy (ahem, Plaza George Orwell), chatting with friends and people watching.... This is a great spot for outdoor seating, though it fills up fast and there's often a wait. Be mindful that Bar Lisa next door puts out their chairs right next to Oviso's and often are not as full, basically cause their food is horrible compared to Oviso's. Oviso serves some pretty great sandwiches and salads with a fun staff. It's very laid-back and captures the mood of the Trippy area - perroflautas, art, cheap eats.... read more

Seriously great comfortable find for brunch. This was our backup plan after seeing the wait for "Milk" and we're so glad we found it. The winner was definitely the exotic crepe with avocado and a nice sauce. The basic 2 egg dish isn't anything to joke about either, it's only EUR 4 and really solid. Juices/smoothies were fresh blended and tasty. The chocolate-banana crepe was perfectly done with not-too-sweet chocolate. Prices are super fair. read more

I've been here in the afternoon and at night. It's a lot of fun and a great environment. The outside seating is awesome as the square has a lot of potential, but expect a healthy wait at all times of the day! Their burgers are fantastic, and we love the Patatas Fritas with Rosemary, but sadly they were out the last time we visited. It did, and usually does, take awhile to get service... they seem to be perpetually understaffed. The servers and bartenders are all great and quirky which adds to the ambience. I found THAT neighborhood bar in Barcelona. Darkly lit, wood tables and hipsters. Alas, rosemary potatoes a must, fresh savory and sweet crepes. Cava averages 3 Euro for a bottle two glasses worth. Fresh fruit for home spun slushy daqueries a must aligned w frescas and watermelon. During the day one can sit in the plaza for people watching. Love the painted decor of peacocks on the walls. Just an OK bar for me. Pretty divey, which is great, but nothing really happening beyond that aspect. The drinks were average, the wine was poor, which is expected, but the vibe was missing. It should be noted, I did not try the food and came during the colder months, so no use of their outdoor seating, which looks rad. We came here off of the Two Schmucks 'good bar' list, but would probably have been better off just heading back there. So, for outdoor drinks in the warmer months, come here! My first review as part of this year's world tour (how's that for a humblebrag). This is a great place for people watching, especially at night when the hipsters take over the playground. Grab a table outside, order a beverage or two and relax for a few hours. This is simple cafe food: foccacia, baguettes, burgers etc. But it is all made with fresh ingredients ald it looks like the cooks care about what they are serving. The decor was very hipster ish with a large sign advertising erotic movies (just for decor) and many different types of tables, chairs, and wall art. They have many locally brewed beers in bottles, but they were out of the beer I wanted.... and the second beer I wanted... sigh. The husband and I settled on two different beers and they ended up being like IPAs (which I don't like, but he does) so he drank his and the majority of mine. A nice, chill bar in the middle of the square. Fairly cheap prices. Trendy, hip crowd, as you might expect in this area. They offer locally brewed craft beer, which was not something that we saw frequently on our travels. Coffee was not bad at all. Good price for wine. Staff was friendly, and apologetic when mistakes were made. A good place to stop in for a drink at the bar. read more

Came to Oviso on my first night in Barcelona as suggested by my Airbnb host. It was the best decision! We had incredible passion fruit and strawberry mojitos (only 3.70 for a half size, not much more for the full size) as well as INCREDIBLE tapas. I'm not a converted guacamole toast lover (we also had great nachos). Portions were huge and the total bill was under 25 euros. Wish we had been there long enough to go twice. read more

Really like this place. Staff are friendly and seem really happy, laughing and joking. Laid back, totally non-pretentious vibe. Lots of seating outside, and inside. They do serve food, though I didn't eat there. They sell Punk IPA, which is awesome. For non-locals = it's easy to communicate with the staff in English if you can't speak Spanish/Catalan very well. If you're not much of a beer drinker, try asking for a "clara" - it's half beer, half lemon soda. (Like what we would call a shandy, in the UK). Like most bars in Barcelona, they don't sell cider, so this is the next best option! read more

The food here was good! I came here for brunch, and just went heavy on the carbs. Croissant, avocado and tomato toast, and sandwiches haha. The orange juice is freshly squeezed and delicious. I loved the cool vibe the restaurant gave, and the staff was extremely friendly and offered nice advice to tourists (like warning me about leaving my phone out in the open unattended). From what I noticed, this place is a tourist hotspot with faces from all over and a bartender that spoke Spanish, English, and French in the short time I was there. read more

Great place with fresh ingredients and very very good cortado! We had the best breakfast/brunch there. It is located at the Orwell placa close to La Rambla and a lot of cool shops. We sat in the sun and had the best start of the day, there are children playing at the placa and such a good feeling everywhere. If you go to Barcelona you definitely have to go there! I came to this little place 10 years ago and it's not changed one bit! I'm not sure how to describe the decor exactly but it does make me think of a Greek hideout that could feature in a bond movie. It's simple but tasty fare, savory & sweet crepes and also great for brunch with various egg dishes and freshly squeezed juices. The only small thing I thought was a bit odd was being charged more for wholemeal bread when I requested it, it was just plain packet bread nothing fancy so made no sense to charge more. We came back in the nighttime too and I sampled one of their delicious Mojitos they pack a punch! the staff are friendly and attentive and everything is quite cheap in comparison to Las Ramblas or more touristy spots. read more

What an AWESOME place to spend our last night in Spain/Barcelona! Recommended from our vacay home hosts as a good lunch/dinner spot, we didn't make it till the end of our trip which was a shame. The bar was dark and buzzing with people - tourists and locals alike, had some tables in the plaza outside which would probably be a nice place to chill on a nice day. Had a little too much beer (which my friend and I quickly learned on our trip is cheaper than water or soda), but the small munchies we had helped keep it sane. The staff was super friendly -we ended up chatting up with the the charming manager, Eric who made us feel very welcome! It's too bad we couldn't spend more time there during our stay. Oviso's is perfect for a drink surrounded by locals in a touristy area. Just next to Bar Lisa, the sign for Oviso's is subdued, but the atmosphere inside is hipster-grunge. I don't know what everyone sees in this place. It is located just off the main tourist strip in what appears to be a nice plaza. There is a lot of outdoor seating (which is always a plus).The centerpiece of the plaza is a children's playground surrounded by buildings in which some have bricked up windows. Service was brisk both times I was here. Prices were very tourist like. They have a lot of talapas on the menu and the ones we ordered were okay. Outside of that the main entrées are burgers. My beer, when it came to the table was well below the .5l marker on the glass. Why serve a customer a glass with a marker when you're not even going to come close?
