There's about a one mile loop that circles the park along with a playground, swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a soccer field. It's actually quite impressive all they managed to fit into such a small space. Definitely a great spot for sports or a quick walk. When I come to a park, I'm usually hoping for a peaceful stroll but depending on the time of day you're at Riverside Park, it will likely be full of energy and excitable children hanging out after school. Will I be in a rush to come back? No, probably not but I'm glad to see such a useful, public green space in the community.

Very relaxing, usually quite quiet. Well maintained. My only two complaints- 1. As a dog owner myself I am annoyed at how many people don't clean up after their dogs, which is just laziness. 2. The city comes out about once per season to clean up litter, and the neighborhood does one or two clean ups a year. This would be plenty, except the trash collectors who service the park are careless when it comes to getting the trash from the cans into the truck. End result is a constant litter problem around the edge of the park. It just seems like trash begets more trash in this situation. TIP: let's all just pick up a couple pieces of trash on our way into the park! Overall one of my favorite green spaces in the city! Great for the neighborhood! Great park to visit in general. It's funny how many people think this park is Druid Hill park, since it is off of Druid Hill Ave. Much smaller, but pretty, peaceful, and fun.

Climbers and those swinging rings. Even a small climbing wall. But the star is the really huge set of climbers and hanging-pathways in the middle of the complex. Kids play hours at a time. It's great! There's also a large soccer field further east. The entrance to the whole complex is not well-signed. It's south of Meadowbrook Lane, just west of the south base of Long Gate Parkway, Columbia MD. We parked right along the fence. There is a park-and-ride parking lot, which provides a lot of extra spaces. I havent seen it full. It might depend on time and day.

Great trails, enough elevation change for solid workouts, some sections with lovely old trees. There's a long stretch of a beautiful stream (Saw Mill Branch) and some areas that give you that lovely isolated feeling of being in the woods. There's campgrounds (way better than "backyard camping") and driving in from the gate on Hilton Ave puts you in a good spot to immediately start hiking. There's also trails leading in from a number of the surrounding neighborhoods. The paved path by the river is pedestrian and disabled friendly. A historic rail route runs parallel to the river and train spotters can get some unique views as well as see the famous Ilchester Tunnel. PVSP is one of my favorite things about living in central MD, and each section has some unique things.
