An amazing family oriented church. Great atmosphere of worship, with Jesus centered teaching from the Bible.

OMG! Yelp! It is a must. This ministry is everything! This is a MEGA church with a shack by the…read moretrack feel good kinda spirit. Everybody is at home. You don't know anybody, but yet it's like you know everybody. Heart to Heart connection is amazing here. We are a group of 7 visiting from Alabama. Pastor Sarah preached. Oh My, did she preach, "TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT"! Yelp, go find it and watch it, you will get a revelation. We enjoyed everything and everybody. Thanks for all the restaurant advice Brother from Washington, that we chatted up with in the lobby. We did take you up on Lo Lo's. Delicious. And, Thanks to Bishop and First Lady Serita Jakes for our first time guest blankets with the Potter's House logo. WOW. And we all got one. Yall already know, we planning our next t trip to Dallas and TPH is already on the list. We shall return!

One thing that has changed for me during COVID-19 pandemic was the way I receive God's word on a…read moreregular basis. Though I am not an active member of The Potter's House of Dallas, I do attend and follow services via YouTube throughout the week. Oh, and what a luxury it is being able to hear the sermons by the founder, Bishop T.D. Jakes wherever I may be or during any time of the day. I hope to someday attend this non-denominational mega church in person in Dallas Texas because the sermons speak to me. T.D. Jakes word not only enlightens me but gives me that inspiration that my mental health yearns for throughout the week when battling with stressors. The word, the praise, and the music of the Gospel leads me home certainly! And that is why I adore The Potter's House of Dallas. ~Blessings~ Thomas G

It was really lovely to see people worshipping The Lord with no boundaries and no care for what others think - just true authentic worship. With that said, there are a few things that set off alarm bells for me. 1 of them being the save seats culture here, we arrived 30 min early and people had ENTIRE rows saved. If I had been a first-time church goer, this would absolutely make me stay away from church. It was SO discouraging to see people saving seats in mass quantities, it came off very cliquey and NOT of The Lord. Church should be like a welcoming place for everyone. Secondly, the way in which tongues are spoken and encouraged felt like a huge red flag. The way tongues were being spoken - did not align with the bible in ANYWAY. I fully believe in the gifts of the spirit, but it felt like the singers were just shouting them out all willy nilly and it didn't feel genuine. It felt like it was being used as a way to draw attention to themselves. When it was time for an alter call, one of the singers encourage everyone to make sounds and speak in tongues to the Lord. This is promoting a very unhealthy practice. Not everyone has this gift and as it states in the bible - if done in public, there should be a translator. Lastly, I realize that the normal pastor was not preaching this day but the man who did preach probably gave the absolute worst sermon Ive ever hear. It was basically him ranting for an hour about how you need to keep your eyes on jesus. And while i greatly appreciated the basis of the message. there was no scripture and he was ALL OVER THE PLACE...telling stories that didnt tie back into the general message. If someone had come to church, hungry for the word of God.. they wouldnt have recieved it and that is a huge problem. Not to mention him saying that Jesus dying on the cross for our sins was not the whole gospel.... I'm sorry what? I truly believe God is moving in this place but I also believe this entire congregation is promoting a feelings-based relationship with God and that is so dangerous.
