One thing that has changed for me during COVID-19 pandemic was the way I receive God's word on a regular basis. Though I am not an active member of The Potter's House of Dallas, I do attend and follow services via YouTube throughout the week. Oh, and what a luxury it is being able to hear the sermons by the founder, Bishop T.D. Jakes wherever I may be or during any time of the day. I hope to someday attend this non-denominational mega church in person in Dallas Texas because the sermons speak to me. T.D. Jakes word not only enlightens me but gives me that inspiration that my mental health yearns for throughout the week when battling with stressors. The word, the praise, and the music of the Gospel leads me home certainly! And that is why I adore The Potter's House of Dallas. ~Blessings~ Thomas G

Enjoyed my visit. Parking was easy, friendly staff, choir (praise team) was excellent. This house is anointed.

Typically I wouldn't review a church but there maybe someone out there that is needing a good biblical church home. I had a chance to visit The Potter's House while visiting Dallas. They have one service at 9am and you must wear a mask. I have always wanted to visit this church and hear bishop preach in person. Bishop T. D. Jakes brought a mighty message entitled, "Desperate Faith!" The message was just what I needed and was very powerful. The praise and worship was phenomenal. The spirit was really there. If you are looking for a good biblical church in the DFW area this is the place for you!

Service was AWESOME and OUTSTANDING today. The sermon was entitled; "Welcome to the Family." Bishop Jakes taught from Ephesians 2:1-10 and how we (born again Believers) were saved and adopted into the family of Christ. This was my first time here but it certainly won't be my last. The atmosphere was very anointed and set for an awesome move of God. I'm in expectation for greatness and some great things! Now faith IS....Hebrews 11:1. Blessings!!!

Will not be back. Archaic and theatrical with little teaching. There was little scripture and a lot of babble.

Ask the Community - The Potter's House

What are the service times?

To attend live, is it required to RSVP?

No because if it live really all you do is walk in!

What time are services on Sunday?

Hello I'm visiting Dallas in a couple of weeks. Does BishopJake's preach every Sunday? If not how can I find out if he will be preaching when I'm visiting?

Yes he preached everyday

Is Bishop TD Jakes always at, solely, this church? I looked up the name of the church & saw a church by the same name in my city.…

He only serves as pastor at the Keist Blvd. location. There is a Potter's House North Dallas, that is the same TPH ministry, but that location is led by Pastor and Bishop Brady.

Very helpful in getting our children checked in and ready for church. Now on to worship, if you want to experience Jesus in a new, exciting way, this is your place! Everyone in the room felt the presence of God. Next, the message. OUTSTANDING! The pastor's wife preached tonight, and she did well communicating with the people in the room. Lastly, the atmosphere. Very comfy, modern, warm and welcoming. Everyone is extremely nice! The groups range from young, teenage, hipster kids to your elder, sweet, and adorable grown ups. Although we live in Fort Worth, I believe we have found our church home. By the way, we attended the 5 p.m. service on a Sunday. This is everything I've ever wanted in a church!

I attended Upper Room for the first time last night for the 5PM Sunday service. I have to say, my…read moregreatest take away was the Worship. It was really lovely to see people worshipping The Lord with no boundaries and no care for what others think - just true authentic worship. With that said, there are a few things that set off alarm bells for me. 1 of them being the save seats culture here, we arrived 30 min early and people had ENTIRE rows saved. If I had been a first-time church goer, this would absolutely make me stay away from church. It was SO discouraging to see people saving seats in mass quantities, it came off very cliquey and NOT of The Lord. Church should be like a welcoming place for everyone. Secondly, the way in which tongues are spoken and encouraged felt like a huge red flag. The way tongues were being spoken - did not align with the bible in ANYWAY. I fully believe in the gifts of the spirit, but it felt like the singers were just shouting them out all willy nilly and it didn't feel genuine. It felt like it was being used as a way to draw attention to themselves. When it was time for an alter call, one of the singers encourage everyone to make sounds and speak in tongues to the Lord. This is promoting a very unhealthy practice. Not everyone has this gift and as it states in the bible - if done in public, there should be a translator. Lastly, I realize that the normal pastor was not preaching this day but the man who did preach probably gave the absolute worst sermon Ive ever hear. It was basically him ranting for an hour about how you need to keep your eyes on jesus. And while i greatly appreciated the basis of the message. there was no scripture and he was ALL OVER THE PLACE...telling stories that didnt tie back into the general message. If someone had come to church, hungry for the word of God.. they wouldnt have recieved it and that is a huge problem. Not to mention him saying that Jesus dying on the cross for our sins was not the whole gospel.... I'm sorry what? I truly believe God is moving in this place but I also believe this entire congregation is promoting a feelings-based relationship with God and that is so dangerous.

Pastor Matt Chandler is a gifted messenger. Generally, he is videoed in from his campus in Flower Mound, and the other campuses, including Plano, tune in the same way. There is a local pastor who will also speak and also preach, but the majority of the time for now, you will hear Chandler. The truth is powerful, and so is the delivery. A few things to prepare you for your visit: Yes, the church is large. There are multiple services throughout Sunday, we generally attend the 11:15. You do want to arrive 15-30 minutes early to park. People flock to the church, which is a huge blessing and a huge testament to God's work here, but it also means parking gets crowded and you may have to park in the remote shuttle lot if you're not there in time. There is child care - and lots of children and happy families here. The congregation is young - ranging from college kids to young professionals and families. But you won't feel completely out of place is you're above the median age of 25 - we are in our late 20s and mid 30s, my husband and I, and this is a great place for us. The music / worship service is impactful and inspiring. Last week we sung half of our songs in Spanish to reach out to the Spanish speaking community, and particularly to love the visiting in-laws of a staff member who were there from Mexico. They care about connection and about spreading the Gospel very much. I read in another review that it can be hard to meet people. This is completely true. People attend in packs, and they seem to sit and stick together. I've actually only been reached out to by one very kind girl who chatted my husband and I up before service a few weeks ago. And the pastor has introduced himself and welcomed us. We've been visiting for about 4 months now consistently and haven't established any consistent faces to know, mostly because it's so large and many already know each other. We can and will do more to establish relationships, but I do wish that covenant members would be encouraged to extend themselves when they see new faces. We'll be taking the steps to Connect with a life group next, which will help establish some steady local Christian relationships in our lives and we're excited to do so. The Village Church has been a blessing to us, and, again, I would encourage anyone to visit! I'd even be happy to meet you there! :)

I have attended church all of my life, but never treated like this church, it's leaders and even those "friends" have treated me. I heard some good sermons, but when real life situations come along, just know that this pastor and these people will judge you and you can become an outcast they even refuse to acknowledge. They will cut you off. It's been one of the most hurtful, but eye opening experiences in my life. This has to be the takeaway ...that pastors are just people who make mistakes, but it is my belief that they also are in a position of leadership and authority and will be led to correct those, and always act in love, like Christ. This has not been my experience with C3 Trinity or it's members whom were my "friends". I hope they never treat another person like they have me, but I'm smart enough to understand and have a realistic sense that I wasn't the first or, sadly, the last. It is my opinion that, in any church, the members should know the finances of the church they financially support...this is a major issue in churches today. When pastors have financial control and hide their personal finances, members should demand transparency.

Munger Place is an older Church with some newer updates, including a large screen for lyrics and videos, an elaborate sound system, and an elaborate lighting system. We really enjoyed the message, it was a great mix between biblical focus and historical and anecdotal stories. I would say the message seemed very moderate, nothing too conservative, nothing too liberal. I enjoyed the diversity in terms of the people in the Church. There was not a dominant age range and there was a variety of "types" of people too. It is a casual church, some people had shorts and tshirts on, a few guys still wore suits. I would say the middle is "sundress casual". They were very welcoming but also not in your face. We were able to try the church without feeling like we had to sign up for all sorts of things. They did send us a handwritten thank you for joining them note this last week which was a nice touch. (We filled out a card in the pew). The music was contemporary rock. They have a cage for the drums, so unlike at some churches where the rock band becomes unbearably loud, the noise was nicely controlled here. Coffee in the back, people also brought their own from home and enjoyed it during the service. Overall we enjoyed it and will likely make it one of our normal stops on our list.

Sunday services at the South Campus (Carrollton) are at 9 AM and 11:30 AM. The teaching pastor of the day travels to the North Campus (McKinney) in between the two South Campus services to deliver the same message there live, then returns to Carrollton for the 11:30 service. Pastors Amie and Stacey are the Lead Pastoral Team, with Pastor Amie and her team of teaching pastors doing a wonderful job of speaking the Word of God into the hearts, spirits, and minds of their flock in person and online. (The South Campus Sunday services are live on YouTube and at covlive.online.church. One will be posted permanently on Covenant's YouTube channel, on Monday at the latest. Speaking about YouTube, Covenant Worship is powerful; just listen! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFfLNdOSbQn07h6_yXPtVrQ.) Covenant is truly a multigenerational multicultural non-denominational community. (Covenant Church practices child dedication and water baptism by immersion but is not a Baptist church in any sense.) The worship team and the teaching pastors work in tandem so that the music choices not only lead everyone into deep and meaningful worship but prepare them to hear the intentional life-changing message. This leads to multiple salvations at every service. Covenant's Core Values are: * Know God * Find Freedom * Discover Purpose * Make a Difference That plan means that whatever your age or spiritual maturity when you come to this church, Covenant is ready, through small topical groups, weekend events, short-term classes and other formats for lifetime learning to help you make sure that you have a deep and personal relationship with Jesus no matter what is happening around you. The foundational practices to growing in "knowing God" are reading and understanding the Bible as God's Word, and prayer as two-way communication with Him through the power of the Holy Spirit. "Finding freedom" is the next goal and may happen privately at any point in one's spiritual journey but Freedom Groups, a 14-week course, is a primary tool. "Discovering (your) Purpose" can change over a lifetime of circumstantial changes but Growth Track is especially designed to help you find God's purpose for your life. Making a difference, whether it is spreading the Good News of Jesus privately or publicly, providing physical needs and assistance along with being ready to meet spiritual needs, comes naturally to those who have an intimate relationship with their Maker and Savior, who have found freedom and purpose, encouraged by the excellent preaching and teaching from the pastors and the Covenant community surrounding them.
