It seems like with businesses like this, people only take the time to write a review when they've had a negative experience. So, I'd like to take a moment to give them my support by telling you all how smooth my experience was. I hope you have the same experience if you choose to use them. I needed some soil to fill some raised beds I had built. I stopped by on my way home from work to inquire about their products. I was happy to learn that they carried a topsoil/compost mix, which was exactly what I was looking for. Communication was a little tough due to the barriers in place because of Covid, however the lady taking my order was very patient with me. I was allowed to inspect the soil before ordering. I ended up placing an order for a 5 cubic yard delivery and they had afternoon availability for delivery the next day. The following day I received a call a little before lunch asking if I could accept the delivery early. I was home and did not mind receiving the soil in the cooler part of the day, so I told them to come on. They arrived about 20 minutes later. The gentleman that made the delivery allowed me to advise him where I would like the load dropped. He gave me time to spread out a tarp to protect my grass. He dropped those 5 cubic yards dead center on that tarp. I'll admit I was pretty impressed. He then made sure I got my money's worth by carefully cleaning off any soil that remained attached. I think he could have just dropped that soil in my beds had I asked...lol. He was very courteous, professional, and respectful of my property. The soil itself was of good quality in my opinion. It was relatively clean, with very few sticks and maybe a handful of rocks in the 2-3 cubic yards I used. There seems to be a nice mix of sand, compost, topsoil, and organic material. There was some pine bark, but less than you'd likely find in commercial potting soil. The pile itself is still generating some heat, which is a good sign that it has a good organic content. Only time will tell of the true quality by the veggies I hopefully produce. But, for my first interaction with HIllside I was very pleased. It'll soon be time to mulch the azaleas and I'll give them another opportunity to have my business.

Realized that there was a tiny window to talk to the office personnel. The lady I spoke with was not cordial at all. I inquired about the rock we needed, but they did not carry it, which was not a problem, it was the negative vibe I got from the lady I spoke to. I asked if she knew any other place that carried the rock and she said she did not. Again not a problem, it was her demeanor. First impressions are so important when conducting business. Needless to say, we will never go back to this business for any of our landscaping needs and will not recommend to family and/or friends.

My husband and I were blown away by the incredible customer service at Carolina Aquatech Pools. We…read morerecently bought a house with an above ground pool and honestly knew very little about pools. The first weekend that we moved in, we bought those DIY test strips that you can get anywhere. Some of our chemicals were a little off, and we tried to fix the problem ourselves and decided we need expert advice. We Googled the closest pool store- these guys came up. Before we went in, I told my husband I didn't want to seem to seem too "uniformed" about pools, in fear that they would try to sell us hundreds of dollars of chemicals... First off, it turns out, they are the same company who actually put the pool in for the previous owner's- what are the odds! They could tell us exactly when the pool was built and what filter was included in the pool. Secondly, they did not hesitate one bit to explain to us pool maintenance, how the filter works, how to vacuum, pool coverings, etc. You name it. To say I had 100 questions would be generous. And they answered every single one with no hesitation. They offered to test our own water to help with the problem. They didn't even TRY to sell us chemicals! They sincerely wanted to help. We went back, got a water sample, took a picture of all the chemicals the previous owners left for us, and returned back to the store. They tested the water and told us exactly what we needed. We purchased what we needed and....It leveled our chemicals perfectly! They encouraged us not to Google too much because there's so much conflicting information. Their many many years of knowledge is more trusting in my opinion anyways! Not ONCE did they pressure us to buy things we didn't need. Actually, sometimes I asked if I needed something and they told me not to waste my money. We truly were blown away by the kindness, expertise, and willingness to give us their time. We look forward to using them through our pool needs in the future. And finally, the best advice they gave us, especially as new home owners, "Enjoy your pool, don't let it be a stresser". They put things in perspective not to worry about it constantly. It's there to enjoy, and they're there to help us when we need it. Thank you guys so much.

To complicate things even further, my wife's office closes early on Friday so I needed my delivery to take place before noon. Well the florist was very upfront and told me that she couldn't guarantee a noon delivery due to the number of deliveries that were already scheduled but she would do her best to deliver by 2. I agreed and left hoping that it would make it there before the office closed. Well imagine my surprise when my wife text before 10 thanking me for her beautiful roses! I was shocked to say the least! Needless to say my new favorite florist far exceeded my expectations! I will DEFINITELY be back to see her in the future.
