We worked with Gisele to re-do our very old and worn upholstery in and on our 23' boat. She was AMAZING to work with. We came into the shop with a crazy dream of doing hot pink and teal throughout the upholstery and Gisele seemed just as excited as we did with the idea. She helped to create a design that gave us what we wanted, but didn't look "ridiculous". With those colors, it could've easily gone either way. Communication was easy with her keeping us up to date on the project the entire way and being flexible with us when we needed to postpone for a week. They redid all of our seats and also our cabin cushions. Turnaround was quick for such a large job and they even came to our boat at the marina and installed. I have no regrets using Overboard! If you have a boat you really care about, and you want to make it look new again or add some flair, there is nowhere else to take it than Overboard Designs in Buford, Georgia. The first thing you notice when you walk in the door to the left are numerous awards for quality and design. Even though my Donzi is older, it has been stored inside and looked new except the original seats suffered some aging and the boat was worth a refresh. DO NOT USE Overboard (Overpriced) Designs or Cibele to do any work if you value your boat. I got ripped off and ripped off bad. They may have once done swell work back in the day but that day is no longer. I would give no stars if I could. Cibele talks a real good game and comes out selling you a fine product but in the end, she leaves the work to her minions and boy do they suck. She also lies and steals your hard earned money from you. She quoted new foam, I paid for new foam and I got my old foam sold back to me. This is what we call FRAUD boys and girls. She would NOT FIX nor offer any refund. Took most of the upholstery to another shop and then sent her pics and all she did was lie and make silly drawings to put down the other shop which actually did incredible work and not the first time they had to re-do her work. I was so depressed over this. She got lucky in that I am a very busy guy, with travel all over the world, running a small business and did not have time to drive an hour to file a suit in small claims court. It would have been an open and shut case as I have all the documentation via email and the photos of the old foam. All in all, a six week job became a 2 year project thanks to this lady that only cares about appearances and her fancy new Escalade. Please, do not use this woman's shop unless you want to feel like shit. It was all smoke and mirrors for me. When I showed up a second time, she wouldn't come down from her second story office to talk to me. She pawns you off on her errand girls and they aren't any better. She has become a thief and a crook. I don't say that lightly but that is what it amounts to when you steal money and don't do what you say you are gonna do. I am not the only one I know that has had issues lately as her reputation is quickly changing in the Buford Area. I have a list of vendors (been in the boating industry for many, many years) that I have called and asked them not to use her for recommendations. Most said they would not as she has increased her prices exponentially and the end product is very hastily done. You have been warned!! So to recap, $800 is what she charged me for basically 6 six square feet of foam with only doing a few seat cushions meanwhile reusing my old foam (quoted all new in writing) in the larger pieces such as the seat backs. I then paid $1700 to have the work re-done. She wouldn't even consider paying my wife and I back even though you can clearly see by pics that her shop screwed me over royally. Anyway, this is what you get when you choose the wrong shop. We ordered a sunpad which we are happy with. However, when they shipped it, they just placed it in a box with no protective padding. The little padding around the back rest was taped together with a packing tape that adhered to the back rests. I have left continual messages asking the company to return my calls. I have not heard from them in a two week time period. I did email them letting them know there was a shipping issue and to please call. Their response, in an email, was what is the problem. I spent over $12K on a new interior and cover for my wakeboard boat. I must say the upholstery looks great but after 4 trips back, the cover still will not fit. Cibele seems to think remaking the cover is going above and beyond. To me it is simply what was expected and paid for in the first place. Never again. Horrible experience dealing with Cibele. The rest of the staff was very nice. Now I am stuck spending another $1000 to obtain a cover that will actually stay on the boat and not collapse when it rains. Very unhappy. read more

This is our 2nd time using the Overboard Designs team to improve the look of one of our boats. Cibele and team are very professional with setting up appointments and sending a quote, knowledgeable about their products and offering suggestions and prompt when getting the finished product completed on time. A few years ago, we needed a custom boat cover for our ski boat. We called several companies for quotes and decided to try Overboard Designs. Cibele asked questions about our needs and made a suggestion about paying a little extra for better quality material. We are so glad we did and we are very happy with the result! The quality, workmanship and look of our new cover is amazing! We recently were in need of new flooring and bimini top for our pontoon. Of course, we called Cibele. We set up an appointment to view the materials and color choices, they had a quote ready for us immediately, they started the work sooner than expected and we had the boat back quickly and when they had promised. We love the look of our brand new floor and bimini top! Next we are planning to redo the upholstery :-) The work completed by Overboard Designs is always the highest of quality and looks better than expected. You can shop around for prices, but you can't shop for quality. We will only use Overboard Designs for our boats and we will continue to refer them to family and friends. read more

We used Overboard Designs to rebuild our entire wooden seat base and reupholster exterior seats on our cabin cruiser. After completion, they reinstalled rebuilt seat base and seats using our old broken and rusted hardware. The two hatch doors on rebuilt wooden seat base do not latch or stay closed due to them reusing original broken hardware. They also installed hatch door trim incorrectly and upside down. We immediately contacted them with our concerns by phone, email, text and in person. They did a complete rebuild of entire large wrap around exterior bench seat and reupholstered both base and seat. The job should have included new hatch door hardware and latches. Their first response was it was not written or included on their quote, nor did they ask or inquire with us about these items. Their second response was they were unable to source new hardware to match the new holes they made in seat base by reusing our old broken and rusted hardware. They refuse to resolve the two hatch door issues that still do not latch or stay closed. Our first sign we should have gone elsewhere is when Cibelle told us our wooden seat base was not rotten and we knew it was. When they removed our seats, the rotten wooden seat base completely fell apart. When we addressed Jennifer with our concerns and requested a resolution she became very rude and disrespectful. Cibelle tried to play it off as if these issues were our mistake. Maybe in the past, they did take pride in their work and customers, but that is no longer true. Once they get payment, you can forget about resolutions and customer service. For the above stated reasons I DO NOT recommend this company. read more

After reading most of these reviews, I am not at all surprised that these people have seen the terrible customer service and personality the owner, Cebile, has. Thankfully, I did not do any business with her but I was faced with the unfortunate event of my car breaking down as I drove down S Waterworks Rd. Out of despair, I turned into the nearest parking lot to get out of the road and it just so happened to be this place where I ended up. I parked my car while I called my husband and found a tow truck company to call, and as I waited I saw the employees running back and forth as this lady yelled at them. Clearly, they were having a busy morning and I thought she might have been a customer because of how nasty she was being to these poor employees. My car was blocking the way for one truck and a boat to exit, so one of the employees came (older gentleman with white hair) and helped me move my car further down into the parking lot, at least so I could be out of everyone's way. I waited some more for my husband to arrive and I watched this woman push and shove the man that was helping me simply because my car made it slightly more difficult for another boat to exit. After my husband and his friend arrived, they are both trying to take a look at the car to see what could be wrong. That is when this random lady, who later I find out is the owner and has not once introduced herself to me, or has asked if I need any help at all tries to open my passenger side door. My door is locked, so she comes over to my side and snatches the door open as if I know her. She starts speaking Spanish to me in the most demeaning tone possible and asks me to move my car because I am in her way. I answer her in English and I try to explain that my car won't start but her attitude clearly shows that she does not care. I was already flustered about the whole situation and by no means did I want some complete stranger swinging my car door open to tell me to move when I obviously can't. My husband and his friend stepped in when they could tell she was getting more defensive, I am 4 months pregnant and simply did not have any need to deal with her. They tried to get her away from me because of the way she was coming off and I could hear how disrespectful she was being. I stayed in my car and she comes back and asks to see my driver's license, as if she has any authority to ask for that. I refused and she went off yelling that she would be calling the cops. She sent her employees outside to lock their gate and their doors as if we were going to steal something. She treated us like we were criminals when all we were trying to do was get our car out of her parking lot. Luckily, the cops helped us out and stayed with us until we were able to get out of there. The way she was acting definitely made us feel threatened and uncomfortable, nobody plans for an emergency to happen and if I had any idea of where I would end up I definitely would not have picked her parking lot. As much as I hate to say it was racially motivated, I am 100% certain it was. She did not make it an issue until she saw my husband and his friend, who are black and Hispanic, arrive and she felt the need to step in then . I was extremely disgusted with how she acted not only with us, but also with her employees. This is definitely not how a business owner should act or treat people and their employees. We could have been potential customers but her attitude drives business away. I feel for her employees who have to deal with such a nasty person. I am all about businesses who treat their employees with dignity and respect and this is not one of them! This lady is demeaning, disrespectful, and absolutely insane. Overboard has done work for several of our friends and did a great job. Even our flooring, upon completion, was Awesome! Unfortunately though, the overall experience with this company was less than great. Communication was horrible; we would ask for updates and not get them. We would ask to be made aware of when they'd be at the boat so we could be there and we weren't notified. Several pieces were ordered and/or cut wrong and had to be redone multiple times (at least 5). The side of our boat was scuffed by the flooring pieces that they dragged into the boat. The adhesive from pieces that were laid incorrectly and then pulled up was not cleaned up. It was like our floor was a puzzle that someone started and then didn't work on for a few weeks...And this lasted about 9 months! When I finally was able to get in touch with Cibele to express my frustration with the lack of communication, I was told that I was not her only customer, which is all well and good, but when you KNOW that a customer is having so many problems, one would think that you would like to keep their job on your radar. The final project is now complete, and less than 6 months later there are pieces that are already shrinking and pulling away from the adhesive. Parts of this may not be 100% the responsibility of Overboard, but if you are doing a job I would think that you would take responsibility to make sure it's done right. Unfortunately that was not our experience with this company, and we will not recommend them to anyone. read more
