I have never been to a photo studio before so I can't really compare them with others but overall experience was great, they were very professional and nice. The photographer did a great job capturing the moment and the assistant lady was very good with handling the baby. Before the shoot, we were concerned about how my baby will behave because he's very active. But all the concerns behind, the assistant lady did a great job, catching my baby's attention and make him smile on every shot. I read a lot of good reviews of this studio and I was definitely satisfied with my son's photo session. This studio is run by a married couple who genuinely love children. The wife was so skilled at keeping my son entertained throughout the photo shoot. They have a huge selection on clothes, shoes, accessories, etc but they recommend certain outfits for different backgrounds so you don't feel overwhelmed with the large selection. The location and parking can be a little tricky to find but they provide you with detailed information and they are also available via text and phone. They respond right away which is always a huge plus. I would definitely recommend this studio and I look forward to coming here for more photo shoots. read more

I recently got my baby's Dol (1st Birthday) pictures at this studio. It's not easy to take pictures with a baby, but the photographer and his wife were very experienced and made it so much fun! They are very understanding and accommodate whatever your baby needs. They have multiple background themes, lots of cute outfits and props to choose from, and I am very happy with the pictures!!! It was my mom's 60th birthday and she wanted to take family pictures. I was looking for a photo studio in Fullerton with Korean speaking photographers so my parents would be more comfortable so while I know Oven Studio primarily does baby pictures, I emailed to ask if they could do family pictures. They emailed back saying that they could and we set a date a few months in advance. On the MORNING of, they called and said they had to cancel because their studio in Fullerton only uses natural light and it was raining. What sort of photo studio doesn't have flash photography is beyond me. We had already booked hair and makeup appointments and coordinating 5 adults' schedules, not to mention a one year old's nap schedule is pretty damn near impossible. So rather than reschedule the whole thing, we decided to move the photo session to their LA studio where they did have flash photography. After driving more than an hour in LA traffic in the rain I was already a little irritated. Then once we arrived, instead of apologizing for the last minute changes, the photographer started giving us an attitude, criticizing our outfit choice as being "too formal", told us they are a baby studio, they do only "casual" pictures, don't do family pictures and again going on about how they only use natural light in the Fullerton studio. That's fine but then maybe communicate that stuff before hand and don't agree to take family pictures if you only do babies. We ended up taking the pictures but between everything that happened and some of their tactless comments about how my unmarried brother didn't need to be in the family picture since he wasn't a "main" member - it just left a bad taste in my mouth. At the end of the day though, it's about the pictures right? The pictures we got back were underwhelming. If you for some reason absolutely love the look of their pictures, I would highly recommend getting a Korean speaker to hammer out all the details with them in advance before booking, preferably on the phone. They are not at all forthcoming about what their packages include, it took 3 emails to get a price quote. Very unprofessional. They really need to work on their communication skills and customer service. There are so many other photographers who for the same price will send you EDITED photos and even come to you. Here is my Story. A month and half ago, i give a call to inquire about pricing and availability with the photographer. The next day I call back about pricing again and this time the wife picks up. The 3rd day, the photographer calls me and we book for my baby's dohl party(1st birthday celebration) which happens to be about 6 weeks after we book. The photographer was nice enough to give me few tips to prepare for the big day. I asked him twice about down-payment but he said that they dont accept down-payment and i could just pay him all at once at the end. How convenient, Right? The night before the big day, i call them to let them know the time we'll be at our venue. The photographer was the one who picked up but he seemed lost talking to me. He then puts his wife on the phone and she acts as if she had never talked to me. They were like "Who?" "Reallly?" "When?" -____- ;; She said they were sorry but they forgot to book us and already scheduled another dohl party to shoot tomorrow... UM, EXCUSE ME? WHAT??? (I'm thinking WTF????!!!!!) There must be a mistake here or something... they can't just simply forget, right? i mean i talked with them not once but 3 times.... So, i tell them the dohl party for tomorrow you are scheduled to shoot is probably for us, right??? (Nope, it wasnt!) They said that it was for another baby who had done the studio session with them meaning.... they had paid more.... This simply tells me that Ovenstudio has picked to photoshoot the party for this other baby who is paying them more.... Can you imagine the stress i had to go through dealing with this NONsense right before the big day? I cannot fathom just how incompetent this studio is.... Even though they were trying their best to come up with a solution for us, in the end they did not show up to our baby's dohl party.... Sad but true.... I wish i liked Ovenstudio but they never gave us the chance. I would NEVER rely on them again for any special event photos. read more

Ok seriously... I wish I could give this place a million stars! I literally had to walk in my place, set my sleeping baby down and write this review. Here it goes... First off, I was recommended this place through my secret First Time Mommies Group on facebook (you have to be invited to join). The moms on the group RAVE about Ovenstudio and quite a few of them use Ovenstudio's pics as their profile pics. I'm actually pretty surprised more of them haven't written a review... but it's hard to find time with a baby to sit in front of a computer so I get it. When it came time to book my son's 100th day photoshoot, Ovenstudio was the first place I looked up. I spent a LONG time on their website browsing their pictures. I think I looked so far back that I was seeing pics from doljanchis that were at restaurants that didn't even exist anymore. I honestly gotta say.... their studio pictures were soooo adorable. The only thing that kind of was a teeny bit negative was the fact that so many mommies used them... therefore, a lot of people had pictures that looked like each other. But that's really not Ovenstudio's fault. They're just so good that everyone uses them LOL. Price is awesome as well. I'm a stay at home mommy... and we're not rolling in dough. We have to budget and plan ahead with finances. Their packages are very wallet-friendly. Their customer service was AWESOME. Like really, I cannot reiterate enough how much they go above and beyond. Because my husband is an oaf sometimes, he took my car keys and after getting a cranky, teething baby ready to go to take pictures, I realized we were stranded home. I called a taxi last minute to get to the studio which took longer than expected. So of course, my baby's cranky as hell from beginning to end. He really wouldn't smile and he stopped to nurse twice and take a 30 min nap. Even with all of that, I never felt rushed. The photographer and his wife were more than accomodating and let my baby lead the show. If my son wanted to stop, they stopped. If my son wanted Pororo, they busted out their ipad and turned it on. If my son got sleepy, naptime it was! They didn't seem fazed at all. After we finished our 3 backgrounds, it was time to pack up and leave but my baby was all of a sudden in a great mood. So the photographer added an extra background session in hopes of catching some better shots... free of charge. :) They also decided to GIVE ME A RIDE HOME. Seriously... who are these people and how amazeballs are they?? Oh.. might I add, they gave my baby the cutest beanie so that he can "practice wearing them for future pictures." I also got a 5% discount for shooting an a weekday. Ovenstudio: I know you're reading this. I love you guys and you've gained a life-long loyal customer. I have tons of single friends and I will make sure all of them go to you once they start getting married and have children. It's hard to find people that do business like this. Patience and extremely friendly summarizes our experience. We would recommend OvenStudio to anyone looking to do 100th or 1st Year birthday photo sessions. We decided to use OvenStudio for our daughter's 100th day. My wife found this studio through one of her network site. It was actually one of few studios who does the 100th day and 1st birthday. For the Korean culture, 100th day picture is a big thing. The biggest reason we chose OvenStudio was based on the pictures in the gallery. While many studios used "glamour" shot style, with soft focus or/and halo filtering, OvenStudio gallery pictures were very clean. We felt that the picture quality was better than others. Location: it's located between LA Downtown and Korea Town. There is no big signs or anything. I think most of their business if by word of mouth...meaning reputation. You drive up to the building, call the owner, the photographer (husband) will come and open the garage door. Owners: husband is the photographer and the wife assists with making the baby smile. I was actually impressed by both of them on how they grabbed our daughter's attention and made her smile. Studio: I really like their studio. Nice set up. They have so many customs that you can probably spend hours trying different combinations. You can pick and choose, but owners will also let you know which color and cloths would look good for the different theme. One thing you should be aware, since it caught me off guard. After you park, the photographer will be there to escort you. He will actually take the baby from the car and carry the baby into the studio. He does this so that the baby will get a bit more familiar with him. We got started around 2:30pm. Our daughter only made through few shots on 1st theme and begun crying. We calmed her down, which allowed us to try another theme session. Well, that didn't go well. She begun to cry again. Owners suggested that we feed the baby and let the baby sleep for while. After feeding and sleeping, it was about 4pm. We tried few more shots, but sun was going down and the owner did not feel that the photos were coming out well because of that. They suggested that we come back next day for another session because pictures could be a lot better with more sun light. Next day, it went on like a dream. A lot of great photos. Here is the part that made me really impressed with OvenStudio. When our baby was crying on the first day, they did not rush us or the baby to take the photos. They kept on explaining that this is normal and that we shouldn't feel bad about it. They gave us plenty of time to feed our daughter and for her to take a nap. I think if he wanted to, he could have finished the session on the 1st day, as time is money. But he didn't. His wife, who assist with the baby to focus and smile, was extremely good with the baby. She treated our baby like it's her own, taking time and being careful when changing the outfits. They really care about quality of their work. My biggest suggestion or recommendation before you set up an appointment. Figure out when your baby is happiest or full of energy/ least cranky. For our baby, it's morning. We discussed this with the owners at end of 1st day and decided to do re-shoot first thing in the morning. Yap, re-shoot went quick and a lot of great smiles from the baby. I think we got done in like 30 minutes. Couple of other suggestions. Make sure your baby is use to putting on a hat. There are photos sessions with baby lying on the tommy. Baby need to be able to hold the head up. Great experience. I would recommend them to any parents looking for a baby photo session. read more

With about a month left of my baby's first birthday I called Ovenstudio and they were able to accommodate a session for us so quickly. We went in on a weekday and was in and out in a little over an hour. We also got a 10% discount because it was a weekday. The backgrounds were hard to choose because they are all so nice but we ended up doing one traditional look, one formal and one casual. The outfits and props were all super cute and am so happy with everything. They were so good with the baby, making him smile and laugh and the photos turned out amazing! the little gem you don't want everyone to find out about but are compelled to give credit where credit is due. my wife and i booked "100 day"/dohl photos for our son with Ovenstudio; wife found them on some other site that highly recommended them. we had a Sunday appmt. around noon and tried our darndest to get our son to get as much rest and milk in his belly before the photo shoot. but you can't control a 3 and 1/2 month old, now can you. haha the two member duo work out of their loft space, converted into their studio. it's spacious enough with plenty of props. about a quarter of the way through our son's photo shoot, it became obvious our little guy was getting tired and possibly hungry. but we didn't want to stop the session bc we thought we only had a couple of hours max. but the lady told us that the shoot would be too arduous for the little guy if he didn't get more rest. so, my wife fed him and the lady offered to hold him while he napped! for like 30 mins!! she also said time wasn't an issue; that we could take all day to finish. wow. we were blown away. the poor lady said her arm felt like it was going to fall off from holding him so long. sorry, but thank you, thank you! =) anyway, we got through the shoot, ending with a handful of family photos. within 4 days, they sent us a disc with hundreds of photos to choose from. after picking out what we wanted printed, it took about 5 weeks for us to get the photos and framed photo, just as advertised. photos turned out awesome. they captured some wonderful moments of our little precious, boy. great quality, great service, great professionalism and hospitality we didn't expect. (they also gave us ice coffees and small snacks during the photo session.) so, another big thanks for everything! we'll probably try and book them for our son's first bday. read more

I never, ever write reviews. But oven studio was so amazing I just had to share! I've taken my daughter's photos at JC Penney and with an independent photographer who comes to your home/a predetermined location and oven studio is truly the only one who more than satisfied what I was looking for (all others left me disappointed). They have dresses, hanboks, and casual outfits that you can borrow along with headpieces. They know what they are doing: they fixed my daughter's hair and outfit whereas I had to do that myself with other photographers which I loved because they know more than me what will look best. They give you tons of photos (All the photos!! Like hundreds!!). They have free parking!! And they are totally worth the money!! I'll be coming back every year!! read more

Im SO glad I came across Oven Studio when I was searching for a photographer. Not being familiar with studio photo sessions, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that all outfits and props are provided by the studio. All I had to do was bring a well napped baby. Unfortunately my baby boy didn't nap very well, but lucky me! Photographer and the staff at Oven Studio were SO good with him. They were super patient and understanding. They brought out all kinds of stuff to keep him smiling and focused. I was very satisfied with the way his pictures came out. Today was my son's first birthday party. Photographer arrived early so we can take pictures before the guests arrived. He got my son smiling again with silly sounds and gestures. I can tell that he really cared about the work he does and he goes extra miles to make your day special. Even though it was my son's birthday, he pull my husband and I to outdoor space to take few pictures of us two! I felt like we were taking engagement photos all over again and it got me giggling. We went to this studio for my son's 1 year birthday. They are very professional and patient. My son was not crying at all during one hour photograph period. He was attracted by the different backdrop, props, and furniture. The wife helped my son to dress up,making pose and doing funny actions to have my son laugh. Our little girl just might be the fussiest 3 month old ever. Less than 2 minutes into shooting the first theme, she goes off crying and screaming, even though she was an angel in the hour car ride on the way there. Wife and I are ready to give up after baby refuses to calm down for 30 minutes. We give her some milk and let her take a nap. This ends up being a long nap, and we don't want to wake her up because she's even more fussy without nap time. Finally she wakes up with 15 minutes left and they get all three themes in. Amazing. We would have been happy with just two or three pics given how fussy our little girl was that day, but in the end the studio pulled it off and we were happy with the pictures! It was great experience for my niece's 100 days photoshoot. We checked out their instagram and chose some themes before we go. When we got there, lot of themes (clothes, hairband, probs, decorations) were available more than i expected. Also, the staffs nicely recommended how they work in the picture. I loved their photos on Instagram, so I took my son here for his 1st bday photo shoot (we also did family photo). It was the best choice I made for his bday! I highly recommend Ovenstudio because I am sure both you and your child will have a great time here. I love how they prioritize the comfort of the baby first rather than just trying to get their job done. They gave us plenty of time to change the diaper and feed my baby. I think this place is very popular with the korean community. The photographer is very good at taking a million photos at once so 1 or 2 will come out. BUT I dont believe he knows that every child is different. His photos are definitely unique to his style so you will get the same poses and costumes each time. He is disrespectful to the clients and he KNOWS his way is the only way. The people who left negative reviews are actually more true to point. Its expensive for what you get. Got photos from oven for my son's 1st birthday. For the 1 star comment that mentioned how ridiculous it is that they don't use flash...that person obviously doesn't understand photography and the aesthetic of oven. Nonetheless, yes, they use natural light, which produces a much more beautiful image in my opinion. The owners are artists and not some JCpenney's photographers. They try their best to offer new photos and props to each customer to make the photos personalized. My son was cranky the first day we went so they let us come back another day to finish photos. They went above and beyond the quoted agreement by offering more photos, and in the end gave me more prints than agreed upon as well. The photographer IS a little bit of an interesting character, which can be off putting to some. He tends to have a strong opinion about props or clothing. However, as an artist myself, I think it's just a part of being an artist! He really likes a certain aesthetic and look out of his photos. Go on his website and check out what he does. If you don't like it, don't book with him. But if you do, book with him because he's so good! The photos we got back were so clean, crisp, and beautiful. The photos were truly professional and I really loved them. They're definitely worth the investment and will be photos I can cherish for a lifetime. I'd suggest oven to anyone who likes their photos. They took good care of my baby and he was keep smiling while taking a picture, we consequentially got a lovely pictures!
