Lucky for us, the owner of the auto repair shop jumped in right away to try and fix the truck. Unfortunately, he could not. It is going to have to be towed back to our town which is 4 hours away. As for the trailer....the owner of the cabins said would could park it and stay the night or until help arrives! This place is so lovely and the owners are so helpful at the both places! Since we have a lot of time to kill, we looked around the property and the cabins. It's a beautiful location. I highly recommend the Auto Repair shop and the Cabins!! The people are amazing! Thank you Rowe family! We want to come back someday and stay in the cabins!!

We were in a larger cabin and it had two bedrooms. There were also televisions with fire sticks, so you could stream programs if you had your own login. The owners were the nicest people. They were two brothers and one was in charge of updating the cabins, and the other one was in charge of the decor, which was very suitable for the cabin feel. The cabins are about 10 minutes from the town of Schroon Lake where there are a number of nice restaurants and places to shop. I am looking forward to staying there again.

Bedrooms are simple, but nicely decorated and clean. The beds are very comfortable too! The kids love the huge lawn that they can run around on and play games, while my favorite part is the screened in porch where I can watch the kids and the great view of the lake at the same time! Of course the view is better from the private beach and the whole family enjoys having a bonfire down there at least a few times during the week. Looking forward to next year already!

Unsanitary, unsafe & horrible management Please don't believe the positive reviews!…read more August 2024 I never leave reviews, but I really don't want anyone else to have the terrible experience my family and I had on vacation at this terrible resort. We had a total of 45 family members staying here. The rooms are old, dirty, and poorly maintained. Some of the rooms had no hot water and the owner Lenny, said that he tries to regulate the hot water. The lock on the entry door to our room was broken and difficult to lock. Lenny checked it out and said you have play with it, and it isn't going to be like your lock at home, you have to play with it. If you rent the big house on the premise, it smelled and had cobwebs on the chandeliers and in the kitchen. Also, keep in mind that the owner lives on the top floor. Its very odd! The two bedrooms both had holes in the walls from the door knobs. The bathroom is tiny with a very old tub and sink. The next day we rented boats. Lenny and another worker set the boats up. I expressed I didn't know how to swim and needed life jackets. They got the life jackets, but once we were already out on the boats, we realized there were none on it. I called the owner Lenny and he wasn't apologetic and kept saying he couldn't believe they weren't on the boat. I checked again with him on the phone and there were none on it. He then brought us the life jackets on the lake. Other family members were on another boat that broke down on the water. Lenny came and made light of it, said he knew there was an issue with the boat, and told them to wait on the boat while he went to talk to a mechanic at dock. Again he never apologized or offered any compensation for their lost boat time. Upon returning my boat, he didn't apologize and then proceeded to tell us that we damaged the propellor on the engine. There was no way we did and and he was so nasty about it. My husband and I started arguing with him. Immediately he started saying I'm going to call the cops. I expressed how with any complaint we made, he made light of it, and never tried to rectify the situation. We got nowhere with him and decided to leave. Please read the other negative comments because they are true! He must be writing his own positive reviews!

There are places you can find on a map, and others you can only reach with luck or Ruby Slippers…read more "The N" is ruby slippers all the way -- over-the-rainbow magical. The elements are easy enough to list: fabulous swimmable lake, fresh vegetables within walking distance, lots of hiking, farmer's market in town once a week, easy places to grill, many points of interest (a drive to an abandoned iron mine for the history minded, or visit the ladies that make goat cheese and pet a goat). And a sky filled with billions and billions of stars... but other places can make similar claims. As you see from the other reviews, many guests have fallen under the special spell of the place's enchantment long ago, and are drawn back. Me too, now.
