Ordered to go, and everything was delicious! My husband has been several times and always talks about how much he loves it. I just dont eat meat so I orderd the chilaquiles with no birria. The portions are great and still had some for later Hubby loved his per usual, they just fogot the consome but he still loved it. Service was nice and quick. Plenty of seating area when we went. I had to come back with the family, and we were not disappointed! I had the Quesabirria tacos which were so delicious , kids had the quesadilla with perfectly seasoned fries and really good beans. I really appreciate that they use nacho cheese sauce for the cheese fries those were great as well. I also had the Tamal that gave the business its name, Outside The Masa! What a concept! Tender delicious Birria neatly piled on top the Tamal with pickled red onions and freshly chopped cilantro the BEST, you have to try it. I believe they only have tamales on the weekend. Best breakfast burrito I've ever had. I wasn't sure if they had what I was in the mood for. After speaking to the extremely helpful server they made a custom chiliquiles breakfast burrito. I had the best chilaquiles I've ever had in my life. The chips were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of sauce--never soggy--and the flavor was bold, tangy, and seasoned to perfection. My second visit and A friend of mines tagged along to experience this amazing food with me. We both got the Chilaquiles with Birria with over easy egg they got the scrambled eggs. My beverage of choice was the Pepino and Mann I tell y'all that drink was so so good, Get it on your next visit, thank me later . We looked the place up prior to our travels and the menu looked good so we stopped in. From entering the restaurant we were greeted promptly. We told them we were traveling and got great recommendations from the waiter. Everything was so delicious. We had the birria nachos and the order de tres which is basically their quesabirrias. I finally made it out to this Hidden Gem!! It did NOT disappoint! We ordered the Special of the day; a Chilaquil Burrito, also some Tamales de Birria and Los 3 de Siempre. To drink we had their Horchata de Datil and a Jamaica... so refreshing and tasty! The quality of the food is just a whole other level of delicious. Cleanest servings of Birria without all the excess grease on the plate. Everything was seasoned and salted perfectly. Our order was to go so all the sides/toppings were individually wrapped and packaged neatly! The service was great too, as soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a smile and a welcome. The atmosphere was really wonderful! When you walk in, you are greeted by the employees and asked whether you want to dine in or take out. If you choose to dine in like I did, you were able to sit down wherever you'd like and were helped by a waiter. This is like a fast dining area but regardless, the waiter was super sweet and spoke English and Spanish! The staff was friendly and I loved the food so much! I am so disappointed. I went back for Chilaquiles this morning. They were so good 4 days ago I decided to order again. It took 20 minutes for a to go order. There were only a few tables with customers. When I got home the chips were soggy & the egg was undercooked, including the whites. There was 1/2 the amount of beans. FACILITY: very traditional inside and out, clean, and lots of space between tables. MENU: rather massive, we usually order the same things so all the other options makes my head hurt so we just go with what we know. FOOD PREP: excellent, always looks the same which is a good things. FOOD QUALITY: some of the best in the valley. LIBATIONS: lots of choices and not too expensive, wish they had a locals city of LQ discount like some of the other options in OTLQ.. WAITSTAFF: very nice, everyone. OVERALL VALUE: if you order the right things, it is a great value but you can go nuts and spend a lot, tourist dollars spend well, upselling happens for those who want it and deserve it! TIP: Sitting outside is great most all year, we don't go out when it is crazy hot, but have dined outside in 100+ temps, we prefer the front outdoor space.

Ran into them at the C.O.D. street fair and I was hooked. A deconstructed tamale, 3 birria tacos, and a beef birria quesadilla put me over. The food is fresh and authentic and the crew is really friendly. I plan on seeing them at the Tamale Festival this year and only eating at their booth. Thanks guys for the great meal! read more

We ordered a variety of dishes: molcajete, menudo, torta, flautas, chimichanga, California fries, and camarones a la diabla (my plate). Camarones a la diabla: 5/10 - more smoky and slightly sweet than spicy, which was unexpected. Also heavier on onions than usual, but I didn't mind since I like them. Chimichanga: 6/10 - smaller than expected for the price and overall just okay (my partner's take). Menudo: 5/10 - based on feedback, it could use some improvement.
