He estimated our valuables high and then ended up selling them at garage sale prices or less. We were very misled into thinking we would end up with a fair return and this was for his profit only. Many things bother me about how this business was conducted and to this day, 3 years later I am losing much sleep over it and our family valuables are gone. I doubt Brian or his staff lose any sleep. We did want to sell the family items but not for nothing. Very upset still about this. Surprised these sales are continuing but Brian was a salesman.

I contacted them after my mother died to inquire about consigning some sets of vintage china and an antique bed frame to their January auction. You can imagine the stress of trying to handle her estate while grieving her death. Several months, many further e-mail inquiries and phone calls later, and January came and went without an answer. One time I did get a call from Matt Riches after complaining that he wasn't returning my calls. He was snotty on the phone, calling me "ma'am" in a very condescending tone. He asked me to take photos of the items and e-mail them, which I did, the next day. No response. Finally I sent an e-mail saying, look, if you don't want to work with me, just say so and I will move on. Then a call saying, oh yes, we may be able to do something. That was the last I heard. I spoke with several people at the estate sale saying that they were awful to deal with from a buyer's point of view as well. I won't find that out for myself because I will never try to deal with them again. I don't recommend that anyone else try, either.
