I came back here for bike week. The selection of bikes is decent and the sales people don't swarm like a bunch of vultures, so that's a plus. Bike week was fun but the parking wasn't great. I definitely didn't like parking on the side of road to walk down. The vendors were cool but the sizes of the clothing selection wasn't good for petite, smaller girls. I also didn't like how some of the vendors only took cash, which is silly to not get the credit card box. Overall, I like this store and its location since I'm down here pretty frequently. read more

I have shopped at many different motorcycle, boat and automotive dealers over the years and I have to say that this particular dealer was the best experience I've ever had. When I arrived I wasn't even planning on getting a bike however Tony approached me and saw that I was interested in a bike and just offered to show me an out the door price. I was reluctant however, I let him run the numbers and give me an out the door price. The sales tactics were extremely low pressure. Over the course of my vacation weekend, I went back and ended up dealing with Jeff as my salesperson. Jeff and Tony made the experience of picking out the bike and getting the correct accessories for it easy and actually fun and enjoyable. Randall the finance manager made everything simple and easy to understand. All numbers were clearly listed and everything was explained in detail. I highly recommend this dealership for any of your motorcycle or accessory needs. By the way for those of you out of town they will actually deliver your bike and pick up your old bike for free. It's a nice service. It's a great crew at that store. read more

The main Outer Banks H-D store. This place could easily capitalize on their monopoly on services and tourist destination to be over priced and over bearing. Instead, the staff here was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they have a good selection of bikes and swag. Services saw that I was out of state and in a hurry, and let me jump the line to fix a busted taillight do I could get back on the road. The only thing that lowers their rating is in line with what I've seen as a trend in H-D dealerships, in lieu of military discounts giving "loyalty" points (the absolutely most useless thing to motorcycle enthusiasts on road trips and a concept rather insulting to members of the armed forces). I will rant about this even more in later reviews, but this is just disappointing. read more

Terrible... I went in on Monday september 7 and tried to price a Harley from this shop. They didn't know the price on the bike...and never offered to give me one... So I walked out and went online to get a price still no price advertised, so I requested a qoute. While online, I did a credit application.. It's now Weds and I haven't heard anything... I emailed several times and called them...these folks are No help at all . Finally, Thursday after calling harley direct and emailing direct I got intouch with Anthony sale manager. I asked him for the price he outright refused to give it to me.... I'll take my business elsewhere... Customer service is important and you are not above going somewhere else... here is the thing folks if someone dosent give you the service they get paid for by you as the consumer go else where. That's the great thing about capitalism.... If this is how their sales are imagine how the service is... Sale lost.... Good job Anthony I was pre-approved for any harley I wanted. Update..... I purchased a Harley in hampton same day better service in and out with the salesperson eager to help .. thanks Chris I'll be glad to answer and questions and show all proof of said complaint.... This dealership is a joke. Poor customer service. Purchased a bike there first of July on vacation and still don't have our plates from the State! The salesman Anthony is good until you buy then he drops you like he doesn't know who you are. We called to check on them and some other things he said he would call you back and then you never hear from them. Even the finance guy Mike is just as bad. Buyers beware of this dealership our new bike has been sitting in the garage for 16 days now and who knows how much longer. read more

Experience 1: I purchased my first Harley, an 04 sportster at Obx Harley this past Oct. After-the-fact with a little bit of research I had found that I had paid 30% more than what the bike was worth in elevated purchase price and especially the $1000 in fees in which at least half was unnecessarily added on. (Upside down in loan now) That doesn't even include the $800 I asked them to remove from my bill of sale under "parts and accessories" (i added nothing) for a belt replacement made before I even looked at the bike! Also I only was able to "test drive" after the paperwork was finished, technically after I purchased it. I thought that must have been normal as I never bought a motorcycle at a dealership. (tho my third bike) Within a month I discovered I had bought the wrong bike for my needs. As a disabled veteran I found I needed more of a cruising bike to keep arthritic pain down. I decided to upgrade. Experience 2: While shopping for a HD Softail Deluxe or potentially a heritage, I found myself going to various dealerships all over North Carolina, western TN, and eastern Virginia. Many offered test drives without me even asking for one. Since my first bike was purchased at this location and they had a beautiful deluxe I finally asked to test it. In conversation the salesman made a comment that they do not even allow people test drive new Harley's, just used bikes or rentals. I found that odd when the day before at bayside (same owner) I was 'offered' to test a 2014 deluxe with less than a mile on it just because I was sitting on it. That ride is what made me decide for sure to chose the deluxe. I had sat on this particular Deluxe at obx HD many visits over the course of 2 months, never was I encouraged to try it out. So, at Obx HD, I requested a test drive, then again a week later when i had money in pocket to buy. I noticed during that ride an alignment problem and signs that seemed to show proof it had been in an accident. I lost trust in the sales team when they denied knowledge and dismissed my observations with excuses. They said the handle bars were "aftermarket" (yet not upgraded) which is why they were out of alignment, clutch was stiff and located further from grip because it was "not a harley clutch or lever" (the brake side lever was normal distance tho) Then once I looked the bike over I noticed scrapes and deep gauges under the lower tail pipe, right floorboard, (left floorboard had typical scraping signs from sharp curves but way less than right side damage) right front fog light glass deeply scraped, windshield had scrapes on right side as well, etc. Even an inexperienced eye could conclude that all this damage plus all the un-upgraded "aftermarket" parts was not from a tip over. (Fall) It was more than likely wrecked. If after market bars came crooked, wouldn't someone send them back?? Same with clutch? Which I was told only replacement could fix, tho other resources have said it was a simple adjustment to fix. So basically... Draw your own conclusions from my experience. Store Comparison: So as I have shopped 8 dealerships in 3 states, and eventually purchased a deluxe yesterday at HRHD in VA, I can honestly say obx HD fell short on sales customer service. I really never felt my presence or business was appreciated, especially in comparison to yesterday's purchase. If fact all dealerships paled in comparison to Hampton Roads Harley-Davidson in Yorktown VA! Every aspect of the purchasing experience there was amazing! Getting red carpet treatment really made me realize how bad my first purchase experience went at Obx HD. Bottom of the list :( Sorry guys. The good: Erin in retail is awesome tho! Shamra and Valarie are very nice. Parts guys are cool! Sales team.... I would shop elsewhere. read more
