The heart wants what the heart wants, I guess? I presume it was the owner who was helping us the day we went in with our hopped-up-on-candy children. I say this because he had his beautiful husky in the store, lounging at his feet. Random part time employees don't usually get to bring their pets to work. The other clerk I assume was his wife, just got that vibe from the way they interacted. She had a baby hanging out on her knee. I love supporting a family-run business, so this all appealed to me. Listen, this summer sucks, right? Everything is shut down, we're all wearing masks everywhere and can't do so much of what we thought we'd be doing. But buying a couple of cheesy shirts for my kids while we were having our up-north getaway felt a little bit normal. The owner patiently helped my sugar-deranged feral monsters select their decals, made recommendations on placement, and even gave them both a trinket for free. I'm sure owning a place like this at a time like this is grim. I was happy for the human connection friendliness we encountered. Oh, and all the "they're not local" comments in other reviews are xenophobic nonsense. Just because someone speaks a different language or isn't white doesn't mean they don't belong in a community. To say anything else is racist and hateful.

Little remark though. Was here for at least twenty minutes browsing through the books and yarns and I saw no staff...... Meanwhile, two ladies we're busy downstairs discussies things. So a wide variety of yarns and patterns for crochette and knitting, but no so big in service. Downstairs you'll find all kind of things. Clothes, shoes, little gifts.

He took the time to educate me on new shoe technology and found me a pair of Vasque's 7000 Juxt that fit and feel great. Such a difference to have a properly sized shoe! Even saved me some money and added the speed laces for me. I will be back!

As it turns out they specialize in women's ski boot fitting. Jeannie was attentive to the challenges I faced and the injury I incurred using improperly fit boots earlier in the week. She has spent much of her career explaining "how the anatomical differences between men and women affect ski performance and how gender-specific equipment makes a difference." I can attest to her exceptional level of customer service and commitment to finding the equipment that works. She has fitted me in several different boots and let me demo the equipment on the mountain to assess the performance and comfort. With each new pair of boots, Tom adjusted my bindings and sent me on my way. She also carries women's clothing, hats, goggles, helmets, and gloves and provide ski tuning. Her recent trip to the ski show in Denver netted some super cute hats and mittens. Theirs is a comfortable and friendly shop and you are likely to find yourself chatting with other customers and those who drop by to say hi to the owners. They are clearly well-known in the industry. I intend to return tomorrow on my quest to find the right boots for me.
