Just left Outback for a riding lesson and trail ride. My grandaughter had a lesson, and we both went on a 60 minute ride. The owner was incredibly gracious and knowledgeable. The trail ride guide was great too. Will be back! read more

Last summer we went on a family ride here and had a great time. The ranch is clean, relaxed, fun, and laid-back. The wranglers are informative and great to talk to and the horses are beautiful! This summer we returned for the junior wrangler program and my daughter is just in love with horses! She was really included as part of the team and feels confident on a horse by herself! My family went to this place to ride some horses and were completely ignored for a half hour without being helped. They walked around the farm. looked at the horses, looked at the chickens saw people who apparently lived at the house on the farm drove by them twice without so much as a "can we help you". Being a city dwelling family with an 8 year old boy, we chose Outback Trail Rides in hopes of a memorable horseback experience. We were not disappointed. Owner Sherry led us through raspberry lines grassy trails that meandered in and out of the Pillsbury State Forest. The horses were well mannered and obedient. We even got a taste of trotting down the last straightaways. It will be an adventure we will remember for years to come! read more

Well kept, well run trail riding concession in a state forest. All the horses looked healthy, equipment was in good shape, and we had no trouble with horses "paying attention," even to novice riders. Although hiking trails (which double in winter for skimobiling routes) are havens for mosquitoes, we had zero issues with them on these trails or on our mounts. Sherry had everything ready for us in arrival. Jessica looked back often at our column of riders and everyone fell in love with Alice the trail dog. My only suggestion is that the wrangler should attempt to learn names (just use them once!) and chat a bit vs calling someone "the blue t shirt," etc. I didn't care but others might. It was a great experience for a first timer.. I went there with 6 of my friends.. We had fun enjoying the ride but the horses were kinda trained to follow a chosen path and run at some places while stoping completely at other spots! That was kinda annoying not to have control over your horse but it wasn't a big deal for first timers... ;) read more

I own horses and compete with them. So, I know a thing or two about horses. The "boss" lady, was rude, and condescending. She said "all my horses neck rein", but my horse (which was an 8 y/o), was dead-sided and had little to no neck rein. She refused my request to tighten my UNSAFE cinch (which I could get my whole hand through), and told us not to do anything but sit on our horses ("they know what they're doing"). This place is nothing more than a pony-ride for adults. Don't waste your money, here. I'm sure there are alternative barns, in the area, which are a much better value. read more

I would not recommend this place. We owned horses growing up and have been on many trail rides on various vacations and they've all been great. This one was awful. The owner was rude and my young nephew ended up on a horse with a saddle that wasn't cinched and was loose. He OWNS a horse but had problems riding because his saddle kept shifting and sliding to the side but the owner told us she knew what she was doing and wouldn't fix it. We rode in a straight line without stopping...horse nose to horse rear. A glorified pony ride for adults. She gave us no info about the area, history of the place or anything. We all rode in single file without stopping for a solid hour through a sad, little trail. Oh, and the outhouse was disgusting. I've never seen anything that gross. And there was no toilet paper. We told her they were out and she shrugged her shoulders. Do NOT waste your money on this! read more

These ladies are the BEST!! We've been going to this same place now for about 4 years. Each and every time we've had top notch service. These people love to share their knowledge of horses with you. If you have a question or concern, they love to answer it or help you out. We've usually had Danny (short for Danielle? She is a female) help us with the horses or be our guide. She is so pleasant and just lovely to talk to. read more

One of my daughters "highs" of the summer. She was a jr wrangler which means she had the opportunity to help the staff get ready for the trail rides, feed the horses, brush and saddle them and she got to go on all the trail rides! AWESOME day for sure. I went to pick her up and she was on cloud nine! She was dirty (that's a good thing), and working hard, getting to horses ready, but she was in love for sure. Great for both her as she loved the feeling of helping and riding and great for the staff to have a little helped! read more

I board my horse at Outback and they are awesome people. They take very good care of my horse and are very helpful and friendly. The trail horses are well cared for and the trail rides go through beautiful forest trails. read more
