I have not been to an Outback in over 10 years, primarily because the last time I had been ( in another state) it was very mediocre and it's always expensive to eat beef. We decided to try this Outback after receiving a $100 gift card and we were going to a scheduled concert nearby (The Ritz), The tickets included a free appetizer of your choosing at this particular Outback, so what's not to like when it comes to trying the place out? We are very glad we did! The food and service (looking at you Fred!) were fantastic. I ordered the 13oz Rockhampton Ribeye* & Choice of Shrimp (13 oz. hand-cut ribeye with Grilled Shrimp on the Barbie or Coconut Shrimp. Served with two freshly made sides [house salad and baked potato]). The better half ordered the Sirloin* & Alice Springs Chicken (center-cut sirloin with 5 oz. grilled chicken breast topped with sauteed mushrooms, crisp bacon, melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar, and honey mustard sauce. Served with two freshly made sides). We used our free appetizer on the Bloomin' Onion. A bread loaf and the onion came out first, with the house salad shortly thereafter. I knew I was in for a world of hurt before the main course arrived; and it came to fruition. The above three items that came out beforehand were all delicious and that bloomin onion was bloomin HUGE. We ordered our steaks medium rare and they did not disappoint. Both were warm, juicy and tender. The baked potato was okay, albeit nothing special even with the works piled on. We both ended up taking half our steaks home, as well as half that onion. The steaks heated up nicely the next day and were still great in the taste department. The place was not loud, clean and well maintained. When we want to drop a Benjamin+ we'll return and hope the experience is just as satisfying. As of now this Outback gets the 5 star rating (Fred the waiter bumped it up from 4+). read more

Great location to stop at for dinner after a day at Legoland. The wait was not long for a party of 4. Started with their delicious warm bread and butter. We shared their famous wings for the appetizer. Sorry, we were so hungry, I forgot to take picture after bread was served. I was a little disappointed with my drink. I was looking forward to it. It's not on the menu. I asked for a blackberry mojito. It was missing something. Not very tasteful. Maybe I'll stick to their menu cocktails next time. The food was served promptly. We both ordered 6 oz steaks one medium well and the other medium. Both of us ordered baked potatoes with our meals. Both steaks were hard to cut and the med.well was so chewy it wasn't eaten. The medium steak was so salty I could barely eat it. The baked potatoes on the other hand were so salty that I could have taken extra blood pressure pills to counter act the salt. Food was good. Our server was really nice. We ordered the Chocolate Thunder From Down Under to go. NEVER DO THAT!! We live a few minutes away and we asked if the ice cream would be packed to travel and last a few minutes. We were told it would be fine. It lasted about half way. Ice cream melting is not Outback's fault... but they didn't pack it. They just put it in a styrofoam bowl without a lid. Anyway... We're not sure who the corporate drone is that changed things for the worse over there, but what a disappointment this dessert was. Actually all the portions we had were very small. Went on a Saturday night and it was not as busy as I had expected. Fred our waiter has been the best waiter we have had in a long time of not the best waiter ever! Very attentive, very friendly and helpful. Checked on us regularly. I had the out back burger that was ok, wife had the pasta which she was not a fan of however he tried to help fix it and even took it off the bill when that didn't work out. He tried to offer her another option but she was full enough with the appetizer we had ordered. They are lucky I don't own my own business because I would hire him in a heartbeat. Excellent and friendly service. We had drinks and a warm loaf of pumpernickel with butter within a few minutes of getting our table. Our food was really pretty good. My husband had the Crispy chicken Cobb salad--and he was very happy with it--said it was very good. I had the 6oz Sirloin with grilled shrimp and asparagus and loaded baked potato as my sides. Good was good we got the bbq chicken, 8 ounce filet, and the New York strip. Sides were macaroni, fries, and broccoli. Typical Outback consistent food so we were content with that. The service was not great. The manager made the experience better but nobody wanted to help us. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes for someone to come and the lady who came told us that she could not take our order. It took them about another 5 minutes for someone to take our order and when she came she gave so much attitude and made it seem like she did not want to be there at all. We kept thanking her and she warmed up a little but it was still like pulling teeth when asking for a refill. Guess I shouldn't have gone to a Steakhouse if I wasn't going to eat steak! I expected far more from Outback Steakhouse than ridiculously terrible food! We ordered the chicken wings and a blooming onion as well as a side of Sydney Shrooms, a coffee and a glass of wine. Wife and I simply wanted to share a few appetizers after a 3-hour drive from Cape Coral. Service was GREAT, though we did stand at the front counter in an almost empty restaurant for over five minutes waiting for the hostess who was it appeared in the restroom to finally come out to seat us. She was very pleasant and apologetic which was very nice. Our server MATTHEW H. was on his game, great attitude, great attentive service! My cup of coffee was ice cold for starters and had to be sent back while I waited for a fresh cup of fresh brewed coffee. The second cup of coffee was extremely hot and was so strong i had to put 2 1/2 creamers in it because Matthew must have poured it before the pot was done, but understandable, after the first cup of really cold coffee he was just trying to make up for it. NO EXCUSE for the RAW BLOOMIN ONION! We took 3/4's of it home, couldn't pull it apart, the liquid breading all throughout the bottom of it told us the grease must not have been hot enough or the cook rushed it, onion was hard all around the bottom and there was nothing but runny mush all around the bottom which I assume was the "batter" that had not been cooked. YUCK! NASTY! GROSS! The wings were fair, but nothing exciting and they only come one way, really covered in pepper! If you dip them in enough ranch dressing they are edible. The Sydney Shrooms, overcooked and greasy. Outback Steakhouse WAS one of my favorites, maybe I will return one day when back in Michigan, and when I am wanting a steak, but never ever in Florida, never another nasty bloomin onion and next time I will just ask for water with a lime, it is far easier and less likely to be messed up, and hopefully it is COLD like it is supposed to be! So inconsistent. My older grandson ordered a steak, took a bite and said he was so full, not wanting us to feel bad and asked if he could take it home. I ordered my order for pickup. The app said my order was ready so when I arrived I checked in. I waited 5 minutes and no one came to the car. I went inside to get my order and I could see it on the shelf. I was told I had to go to my car and someone would bring it to me. Can not understand why this place had the business it did. We went on a Sunday evening for supper. Waited a loooong time waiting for waitstaff to provide menu, water, etc. Finally had to flag down a waitress and have her seek out the waiter who was assigned to our table. Waiter was good. Unfortunately the food was pretty ordinary. Ordered the Outback burger with fries and other member of my party ordered the same burger with a salad instead of fries. Again, long, long wait. Finally food was delivered. Fries-good and hot, salad-OK for salad right out of the grocery, bread-usual Outback brown bread, burgers-lukewarm and overcooked. Would not waste my time or money going back. There's bound to be some steak place in Winter Haven that's better than this....really low bar to hurdle. Not a cheap place to eat. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews for this Outback Steakhouse. I have been an off-and-on regular for years and have always had great service and attention. Their renovation has refreshed the place. I usually come early and have a steak which is always seasoned right and cooked to my preference. It could be during peak hours, servers become very busy, and I have noticed through the pandemic many new young faces coming and going, same as most restaurants have faced. I am always treated well and the only food complaint I can think of is one time the on-the-barbie shrimp could have been larger. I wish I had the names of the many servers, bartenders, and even managers who have gone out of ther way to take care of me. The establishment does NOT put silverware in the bag, stating that "Wicky" the manager stated to not put silverware in the bags of customers unless it was for Uber eats or DoorDash. Been going here for years but for the past few months it's gone downhill. Tonight, Valentines night out the mail in the coffin to never come back here. I've included a picture of the larger Outback sirloin. It looks like they cut it in half on a busy night yet still charge the same amount. Kids meal literally had 10 fries. Had to pick it up because they wanted a crazy $7 delivery fee (is not this usually) then they make us wait over 30 minutes pat the time the order said it would be ready.
