We went for it anyway, but honestly, I wish we hadn't. Prime rib really shines at medium‑rare for us, and this one just didn't hit the mark. Their new cookie skillet was a bright spot though--warm, gooey, and genuinely good. The complimentary bread, though... I think it's shrinking. I remember it being taller and resembling a loaf. Today's looked more like a bread burrito in stature. During desert, the power went out. It took a while for everything to reboot including the cash registers so we could pay, which added to the overall hiccups of the night. Despite the food misses, the service was solid as usual--Outback's staff is consistently friendly and attentive. One last annoyance: two failed attempts to log into the rewards app on the table tablet, and it locked us out completely. I got reminded so hard why I haven't been here in years... The cocktails were so sugary. But such a cute koala duck that I paid extra for, of course. The appetizers were undercooked. Wished the bloomin' onion was crispier and less flaky. The shrimp was definitely undercooked and I thought we were going to get sick. The steak, was not medium rare, more like medium well, and definitely overcooked. The bread even looked burnt. I guess after trying so many new places with so many better options, this chain restaurant that has been around for ages does not meet my standards and is no longer up to par with my expectations when going to a dining establishment. Pleasantly surprised! Came in about 5:15 PM Saturday. They were not busy and they let us choose our table. Staff quickly helped get high chairs for the Littles and the adults our drink orders. I did not get the name of the young man who was our waiter, but he had a great sense of humor ;was tall trim, and had curly hair. this young man really stayed on task ,and anything we asked for was brought quickly. He made sure drinks were kept refilled without asking ,and to make sure that we had warm bread and everything else we needed, without ever asking ;excellent service on his part.. our food came out in reasonable time and it is definitely one of the best steaks I have had in a very long time, for a very reasonable price ,considering everything that is included .the bread that we got was hot and fresh with both regular and honey butter. Salad soups, and sides were all very good. The best mashed potatoes and ribeye I have had in forever . Generous amount of food for the price ,as well.. we left about 7 PM and the place was getting packed ,and now we know why. Just off I-45 S. In the Woodlands an excellent location just off the freeway. Ample parking easy access. Was not overcrowded or noisy on the Sunday evening I visited. The food was very delicious. I had the 6oz center cut sirloin, mashed potatoes with Mac-cheese. It was a very healthy cut, nice and thick cooked to what I liked. Did not try the blooming onion. The sides were very large and came out hot too. The bread was also a nice addition. Nice bar, clean restaurant. Young staff members were cleaning windows, floors, tables when not busy. This I loved to see. Tables and bar chairs were neatly set and ready to serve which I found very inviting. No outdoor dining for what I could see, but not necessary. Bar tender Justin was very nice and accommodating. A solid performance when I visited. Very good experience. I'm sure to return as it's nearby by work and easy to stop by on my way home. I've never felt so compelled to write a review about a chain restaurant in my life, especially for one as popular as Outback. I don't feel like people typically seek out reviews for restaurants like this because I just assume everyone has eaten at one at some point in their life. However, the service and experience at this location is incredible and deserves to be recognized. First, I've never been to a restaurant where a host is so incredibly friendly and lets you know to come find them at the front should you need anything. That's exactly what Cash did for us and my entire table was impressed. He was so kind and genuine that I truly believe he would've helped us with whatever we needed. He also let us know that they have a free to join rewards program that allows you to accumulate points to eventually get money off your next bill. I appreciated that because I had no idea that they had their own program prior to coming in! I seriously regret not remembering my waitresses first name and not asking again before we left (though I do know it started with a V). She checked on us consistently without being overbearing, was extremely friendly, and always made sure we had what we needed. This is by far the best Outback location I've ever been to, and that's saying a lot considering I previously reviewed one in Las Vegas that I really loved. The waitress let us know that she was also bartending that night so she'd be happy to make us a $7 cocktail if we were interested. Seven. Dollar. Cocktail. It wasn't even happy hour! It's just a part of their menu that you can order anytime and the selection is really great! I did order an Aussie Rum Punch and it was delicious. Our meal was super good as well. I'd like to highly recommend that whatever steak you order, you include the garlic butter. I wholeheartedly believe it's worth the additional charge. Really, everything was great from restaurant cleanliness to the friendliness of the staff and the tastiness of the food. 10 of us went on a Saturday afternoon at 4 pm. We were seated immediately and greeted shortly afterwards. We ordered the bloomin' onion, Aussie cheese fries and the bloomin fried shrimp. The latter was my favorite as it was lightly fried with a unique flavor. I was beyond hungry and ordered the 16 Oz Outback style prime rib added a wedge salad and a lobster tail with 2 sides. I chose the baked potato and the baked potato soup. As you can see in the picture the prime rib was ginormous. The seasoning was so good that I gave someone else in my group a slice and their comment was "I'm ordering that next time." I ordered it MR and while it was a little rare in the middle it was perfect to take home for leftovers. The added lobster tail was cooked perfectly. The staff was so great! It was my 11 yo niece's birthday. The manager took a picture for us and also came back by to ask if she liked her presents. Our server got the entire staff to sing her the Outback birthday song. Beware of just checking the percentage of the tip on your bill. Two different times at this steakhouse they have included items that I did not order in figuring the % tip. This happened at another Outback in Houston. At the another Outback in Houston, I ordered and then changed the order. when I looked at the % tip on the bill it was figured on the amount including the first order that I cancelled. Due to hurricane Beryl the power went out in our home and were unable to cook. My family and I decided to dine out and luckily this location was open. There was a wait but that's to be expected considering the circumstances. However, the host was attentive even throughout the chaos. Our waiter Richard was new, apparently it was his first day and he did such an amazing job. He communicated clearly there would be a wait but brought us out the drinks, apps and bread in a timely manner. Our food was hot and delicious. We also noticed that the entire team had such a great attitude. It was such a busy night and you can tell they've been thru it but they kept a positive attitude throughout it all and never once was there a tone or any attitude. No matter how stressed they were, plates broke or drinks spilled they kept smiling. I honestly think this says a lot abut how great the management team must be as well. It's got a strange twang and isn't great so we ate around it. We didn't have any alcoholic beverages. The service was good and the place is clean (which is why this gets 2 stars and not 1). We had a group of 12 people for a Birthday at around 5:30 on Saturday. Seated almost immediately, served fairly quick with only a few mistakes. The food was good for the most part. The server was super sweet and cheerful. We ate and talked (with drinks) until 8:00 then the issue with the checks....what a nightmare. We had 6 separate checks....not that strange with a group that size. It took an entire hour and 2 of our people helping to get the checks right. Outback Steakhouse has been one of my favorite restaurants. This is a place for steaks, a must go to. I recommend there wings even tho they are an appetizer it's a filling dish. This evening I ordered a ribeye which was perfectly cooked ( med-rare) with Broccoli and a fully loaded baked potato, Cheese bacon fries, and Coconut Shrimp. I was pinched for time, but didn't want fast food. The greeter was pleasant and they accommodated me when I asked for outdoor seating. It was pretty busy for weekday. My server was fast and attentive. I ordered a potato soup to start with. It was delicious and I also ordered the 6oz. Sirloin with a side salad, loaded potato (yes, more potato), and added some coconut shrimp. I couldn't finish it all, bit everything was cooked just right and I had not enjoyed a steak in a while, so it was nice to have one that was cooked just as I like.
