My family and I visited the new location located at Keizer Station earlier this evening. We expected it to exceed our previous experiences at Outback, considering it has only been open 2 weeks. We were absolutely disappointed with the service and the food, my family was shocked after eating here tonight how little the restaurant took care of its patrons. I cannot begin to express the utter lack of enthusiasm the staff, specifically our waitress Victoria, had in serving us. She walked past us several times, saying a she'd be right there each way she went, then finally greeted us after being seated for 15 minutes. Her whole tone clearly said she did not want to be there, and her customer service skills were deplorable. First, we were not offered bread, like I know we have gotten every time we have visited the franchise in the past. My sister ordered the blue cheese wedge salad, and clearly stated without the balsamic vinaigrette dressing when placing the order. She had to send it back 3 times before it finally came back correct, and the wait staff was rude each time she stated that was not what she had order. It took over 30 minutes to finally get our entrees, in which time our small children were starting to melt down. After being served, the waitress disappeared for 10 minutes before coming back to serve several other tables, and we had to catch her attention to ask for several things we were missing, and had asked for when we were initially given our entrees. These things included an extra plate for our child, which we had to remind her of twice again before we finally got it, this taking at least an extra 10 minutes. Also, I had ordered the snow crab legs, which you normally get a crab-cracker and small fork to use to eat these. I was advised that restaurant did not have these, and that there were small notches on the crab for me to break the legs open with my hands. Which is next to impossible when breaking the large claws open, and you're unable to get a large part of the meat out without the crab fork, so I paid for these without being able to eat half of what was in them. The table next to us was not only served bread, but several more around us were, and got their food right around the same time we had, even though we had be seen sitting there more than 30 minutes longer than anyone else. When we asked for the check, the waitress told us we could use the touch screen system on the table, or she could take our money to the back. We needed our check split between our party, and were paying two different ways, so we asked for her to do it. She stated "Be right back," then did not show back up for 15 more minutes. When she did come back by our table, she was taking the check to the table next to us, even though they had not asked for it. She then turned around and asked if we had decided how we were going to pay. We had established this previously, the whole table was dumbfounded in this "server's" lack of knowledge on how to treat a guest, or her issue with short term memory. We were obviously unhappy with our service, to which she blatantly ignored, and avoided us ( as I have stated) throughout our time at the restaurant. When we were done and leaving, I stood at the front of the restaurant waiting for someone to approach so that I could ask to speak with the manager. Not one person came up front to greet me, nor did anyone ever come up to the hostess area at all. I am appalled that a wait staff could become that lacking in customer service in the little time that restaurant has been running. My family was very excited to see an Outback being built in Keizer Station, as it is the only sit-down type restaurant in the shopping area. We do not plan to ever return, nor will we recommended anyone to eat at this restaurant. I live in the housing community directly next to this area, meaning that we would have been regular patrons of this restaurant. I hope this message reaches someone at the company who can change the way business is being done at this location, because I cannot imagine it will have a successful run if it continues this way. read more
