I'm going to start this review because I think it's unfair that people only post when they are unhappy about something. Our daughter has been going to Our Little Red for the past 3 years and she absolutely loves it! She went full time (4 yrs old) and then during the summer for the summer camps(5/6 yrs old) . She is always happy and comes home with new positive experiences daily. They do lots of fun activities for the kids to learn from (science experiments, trips, foam/ splash parties, arts & crafts). The staff is wonderful and caring with very little turnover. All of the staff has been there since she started going there. I must say that this daycare sets itself apart by keeping good traditions and academics imbedded within the day. There is very little tolerance for poor behaviors that parents won't address. They guide parents who need it in help them with their kid who misbehaves. I absolutely love this because it makes my daughter feel safe and happy to be there with other respectful well behaved kids. The owner is not your ordinary daycare owner because she is actually knowledgeable and invested in making sure our children have a good start in life. She truly focuses on the whole child. She is always there working with the staff and kids. I love that she has presence in her establishment and is always willing to help or offer advice when needed. If you want a reasonable top notch daycare without the "chaos" that comes with most daycares. I strongly recommend Our Little Red! We love them!!!! read more

First I would like to say that my son has been attending Our Little Red Schoolhouse for over two years. In that time there had been a few instances that were a little concerning such as a teacher showing up to our house to ask about my son when he didn't attend the daycare for a few days (because I was working from home and kept him with me, which the daycare was aware of). How she got our address and thought that was okay is beyond me. But I talked with Mrs. Juanita and I felt like the situation was handled. This happened about a year ago. Since then I have only spoken with Mrs. Jaunita a few times and once my son started Medication for ADHD, I have not had any issues until this past Monday. Mrs. Alejandro informed me when I picked my son up that him and another student were having issues but did not inform me on any details. Once my son got in the car he told me that Mrs. Jada had grabbed his arm and told him to get out of her classroom. Mind you my son is 7 years old. I pulled back in and informed Mrs. Alejandro. She said she would talk to the teacher and inform Mrs. Juanita to look at the cameras. Next morning Mrs. Alejandra says she spoke to Mrs. Jada and she said sawyer and the other student were fighting and she didn't grab my son but put her hands out because my son was trying to hit her.. my son has never hit an adult. I thought that was a red flag and said I would still like to see the camera footage. That afternoon I was brought into Mrs. Juanita's office. I was told in the beginning that my 1. My son was hitting unprovoked 2. The teacher did not grab my son aggressively 3. This teacher is actually over the infant classroom but was brought in a week ago to fill in because my sons original teacher is on leave. So not only was I not informed that my sons teacher was changed but also that this teacher, Mrs. Jada, was not informed that my son has a neurological disorder, and that the other student in question was not suppose to be around my son and vice versa. When I expressed my concerns on that matter I was told, yes you should have been told. That's it. So now watching the footage, you see this other student who is a year older talking to my son, there's no audio but you can see my son tense up, he does hit the kid with something on the desk, (which he did get in trouble for at home) then the second instance same thing but after my son goes to the teacher. In the video and Mrs. Juanita confirmed, Mrs. Jada for 10 or more minutes was not watching the classroom or the students. So as my son is having conflict, not being able to relax, having to fend off another child, she is not watching. Now remind you Mrs. Juanita in the beginning said Mrs. Jada did NOT grab my child aggressively. As I watch the footage I was and am still BAFFLED that Mrs. Jada was not immediately reported. I watch it again and tell Mrs. Juanita she grabbed my child's arm, SWUNG him around her body and brought him out of the room. THEN Mrs. Juanita says, oh I was upset also and talked to the teacher and told her she could not grab kids like that because she is NOT TRAINED to. So which is it my child wasn't grabbed aggressively or not? I was so shocked. Then I am told that my son has been hitting.... I tell her I have not received one report or told anything about that in the year or so after he started medication... her response, oh they should of told you...So how long my son was not being watched, allowed to be hit or hitting another child. I honestly will never know because there was NO communication when Mrs. Lulu was his teacher. And after she left. I told Mrs. Juanita I was reporting Mrs. Jada because no one should ever grab a child like that and there were no protocols followed. She said okay and made a comment that if she reported it she would also include the footage of my son hitting... like that would scare me into not reporting. Yes my son should have not hit but he was being verbally attacked by another child NOT being watched and physically assaulted by his teacher. After leaving I reported Mrs. Jada and there is an investigation going on. Which I REALLY hope they know the truth. I am so disappointed that as a Daycare director you did not look after the child first and tried to cover up the fact one of your teachers who is obviously not qualified to run a 7-8 year old classroom from assaulting a child. Very disrespectful director, they do not care for your concerns in the welfare for the children. If you happen to even say anything they shrug off and ignore you. Then reply in an unprofessional tone and manner. Giving comments unnecessary, If you want a caring facility that truly cares for you and child's needs, this is not the place for you and your family. I've been to other facilities such as the kinder care, and la petite where they have been outstanding. They listen to parents concerns and care for you. And as far as Our Little Red Schoolhouse, this place does not but point fingers at you for speaking up. BAD EXPERIENCE for me and my children. read more

**** PARENTS BEWARE **** Poor service, lazy owner. Don't take my word for it though, just read the other reviews on google. There aren't many there, but most of the negative ones are talking about the owner/director. All she does is complain, about everyone and their kids. Don't plan on picking your kids up after 6 because even though they close at 630 the owner will start calling you if you're not there by 6 and complaining that you're always late. I feel bad for some of the other parents and employees that have to be around her. Spring is a small town and I've talked to a lot of people who know her and they all say the same thing. The owner is VERY rude and not just to me, but there are plenty of people who say she is mean and unfair. Even my son's mother said she is rude and we don't even get along. She was mean when she worked down the street by EZ FOOD STORE and she has only gotten more rude. She is the type of person who seems like she isn't happy with the way her life turned out so she is mean and rude to everyone she encounters (or maybe just anyone who questions her). If you say anything she will lie about you and bash you when you leave and make everyone think you did something wrong just for asking questions. Their policies are far behind industry standards and if it were up to me, my son would never go back here. I pick my son up daily and every time I go in I say Hi, bye, thank you, smile, sign out and I am very polite to everyone there. No one has ever had an issue with me when I show up there. The owner started lying about me to her staff and my son's mother because I raised logical questions regarding some of their polices including parent notification and why they always call me and complain that I'm late when I show up at 6 and they close at 630. They saw me every day the week before Christmas, I even spoke directly to the owner and they never once said anything about Christmas break and that we were required to sign him up (even though he is a daily visitor). They told us the day before the holiday week that my son couldn't go the next week because we didn't sign him up BUT WE STILL HAD TO PAY! I called the owner and I asked simple questions why they didn't notify us, especially when she saw me every day, why they didn't send a notice home in my sons backpack like every other daycare and school does, why they didn't call, why they didn't email, and why we should have to pay when they didn't notify us and the owner said quote "IT'S NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY YOU, THERE WAS A NOTE ON THE DOOR" and then she hung up on me. Don't you get paid to watch my kids? Now you want to refuse service and take my money anyway? Sounds like theft to me. But I'm the bad guy. This is literally the first verbal interaction I have had with this woman aside from Hi and Bye. Obviously she has a legal right to notify parents so I filed a complaint with the licensing board. After she found out, she told her staff that I was rude and mean to her and she got caught telling that to another child's mother who knew me from cubscouts and that lady told her and everyone there I was nice and she didn't see why she was saying those things about me. I haven't done anything to her except ask about their policies and I was hung up on. My son's mother chose this place and she refuses to change because it's the cheapest around but keep in mind CHEAPEST ISN'T ALWAYS BEST! Save yourself the hassle because you will eventually have troubles with this lady. Pay a little more, go somewhere else. read more

**** BEWARE**** First off, owner ( lady in front counter ) is very rude and has terrible customer service. My daughter was enrolled the week before Hurricane Harvey hit and as Spring ISD was closed for two weeks following the devastating storm, she was charging tuition for those two weeks even though my daughter was after school only program. My initial reaction was to get upset, not for my family because we were lucky to not suffer any loses / damage to our home but some families lost it all. She not once asked if our family was affected, she was more worried about how I was going to pay tuition. Just half a mile up the road you could see businesses and homes being gutted but her words were "we were open everyday and we are fine and I have to pay my staff".. again, my third grade child was after school program that was picked up from school at 3:15 and cared for until 5-5:15. This money hungry establishment is basically more worried about being paid than the well being of our kids.. To say the least, I paid the tuition for the week when kids returned to school and pulled my daughter out. It says a lot of her character, her lack of empathy is ridiculous. My daughter said staff was really nice but owner is complete opposite. To top it off, two nearby daycares flooded out so they have all the kids from those places and they are laughing all the way to the bank. I got under her skin as I thought it was only fair to get the after school snacks for those two weeks since I was having to pay... she didn't like that one bit. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!
