The reviews I'd seen online also noted Eric's professionalism, attention to detail, good advise, competitive prices and accommodating and those reviews are correct. We like him and we trust him. My wife and I found Rick on Craigslist where he advertised himself as a professional carpenter with…read moreover 40 years of experience. We had a small job we asked him to complete which included mounting a floating desk and two shelves in our nook. Following a few emails which included photos of our nook and how we wanted the project to appear once complete Rick said he could do the job. We spoke about the project on the phone and Rick said that a non-refundable fee of $50.00 was required. We agreed. When Rick realized we were in North Vancouver he increased the non-refundable fee to $75.00. We agreed. Rick came out and at this point he was to measure and complete any tasks needed for mounting the desk and shelves. Following the collection of $125.00 Rick started to mention uncertainty in mounting and that he had consulted a friend further on the project. Sensing that Rick was unsure we arranged for him to be able to speak with the company making desk and shelves. We received an email shortly after from Rick which said another $75.00 was required for him to come out and find the position of our studs, a task the "professional" should have completed during the paid initial visit for just that reason. Upon cancelling our agreement with Rick he decided he would keep the entire amount. We are talking about $50.00 but theft is theft. Rick is not who he advertises and should not be hired. Matt.
