To be fair, I only placed a to-go order, but it was a wonderful experience. I had a coupon for a free kids' meal, and the server rang it up with no problem. Dining room was clean; beverage area was well-stocked. Menu is clearly displayed, and workers were friendly (it's a place where you place your order at the counter, and then they bring your food to you). Food was good. It's chicken tenders and crinkle fries, so it seems hard to mess up, but it was good and tasty. Wasn't terribly cheap, but nothing is these days, and if you're getting good in the Avenues in Marietta, you're probably not going for cheap anyway. They do a good bit for the community, which is a bonus. Good experience. Recommended. read more

So I popped into Otter's Chicken with my usual good vibes--friendly to the staff, polite, and ready for a chill meal with friends. I ordered a combo meal, a beer, and asked for a water cup since I was trying to stick to a $13 budget (inflation is real, y'all). The combo apparently doesn't come with a drink, so I figured water would do. Been trying to cut down on soda anyway... but--and I own this--I had a total brain lapse and filled it with Dr Pepper out of habit. Not trying to scam anybody, not malicious, just a goofy moment. As I'm heading to my table, I overhear the staff talking poorly about me and being petty. "Broke" was the word tossed around--like girl, we're all broke right now, be so for real. It stung a little, but I brushed it off with some humor, because I can laugh at myself. What got weird though? They kept it going. Constant trash can trips (I counted 6-8 in like 10 minutes), side eyes, and more lowkey petty talk. Our table was by the trash can, so it was impossible to miss the not-so-subtle "spying." At this point, my friends and I were joking back just to lighten the mood--because why are we acting like I committed a felony over fountain soda? Then a server came over, chuckling, and asked if we needed anything. She eventually handed me an empty water cup and asked for the Dr Pepper cup back. I gave it up without a fuss--I'm not here to make food workers' lives harder. But even after that, the passive-aggressive commentary kept coming. Not the vibe. Oh, and the tenders? Smaller than my pinky toe. I wish I was exaggerating. By the end of my beer, I put Dr Pepper in the empty glass just to reclaim a little petty power for myself. Because if I'm gonna be judged, might as well earn it, right? Look, the food is decent (when you can find it under a microscope), but the customer experience? Very middle school lunchroom. Be kind. We're all just out here trying to eat, laugh, and maybe sneak a sip of soda from a water cup now and then. read more

Location is clean and feels open enough that you are not bumping into people or standing over peoples tables Crushed ice in the soda machines. All the food was good. Fries, crinkle bit thinner than you'd get other places. Chicken, fresh and hot. My comment on the help: cashier was helpful and polite. Answered all our questions. She was just obviously bored. Leaning on the wall while helping us. Asked for ranch and otter sauce for both our plates and only got one on each. Again. No big deal. The server fixed without even blinking. I'll be back again. It will run about $10 for the base meal, though you get a drink included at lunchtime. 3 fingers may sound small, but it's really enough with the fries & toast (if they don't burn the toast (see pic). If with others & trying to cut calories or what will be a substantial bill, split 1 of the larger meal deals & save a bit. Otters used to be good. Now they just rely on their name, having been at this location so long. Paid $12.00 for a three chicken strip meal that did not include a drink. The chicken strips were unbelievably small. Each chicken strip was half the size of what you get down the road at Zaxby's. Half the size. The "chicken" wings...can you call them that? More like Cornish hen wings. Or pigeon wings. Absolutely not worth the money. There are other options where you get more for your money. read more
