I joined to improve quickly and enter my highschool's (Bellarmine College Preparatory) varsity tennis team. Both of my brothers had already entered the team after practicing daily at Norcal. Bellarmine's tennis team is known for its talented players who consistently win WCAL and the competition to enter the varsity team is extremely difficult. I have two sons and…read moreeach of them have gained something completely different than the other from going to Tri-City. Sports My oldest, boy. Started July of 2020. He was feeling frustrated with everything. This pandemic has taken a lot from our children. Social time, PE, 6 hours a day of movement at school changing classes, opportunities, excitement.. a lot. For a boy (I'm sure it's the same for a girl), but for my boy, he needs to socialize. It's a must. But also, activity is an outlet, they all complain about PE, but never once has he complained about Tri-City. He attends school in Newark, and we live in another city 40+ mins away. We came to Tri-City because Tiffany, the trainer, is someone I knew personally, and she has known my boys since they were little. My oldest has been with her now since 7/2020. He doesn't look at this like a hobby. He literally says it turns his day around. It's his outlet, it's a place where everyone is welcome. No one is competing with each other, only themselves. Do you know how important that is, to only have to worry about your goals, your workout, and controlling just yourself. Giving him the independence to walk in, create his own goals, push himself, and gain confidence is worth the hour drive back, the time in traffic. My other so , younger. Didn't join until later 2021. He wasn't into it, wasnt his thing, couldn't be bothered less. But not, he reminds him self and get there, go, that hardest part is showing up. To be fair, he takes after me. But not anymore. He took his own life and health into his hands. He's sometimes shy, and doesn't want to be in a group. Maybe it isn't shy maybe it's frustration that turns him off to groups because not all children are kind/welcoming. The boy goes in now, confident, comfortable, and excited. He cares, and that's because the coach cares. About each and every athlete no matter of level of skill. At Tri City, all athletes are welcome. Doesn't matter size, color, height, skills. The goal is to show up, get better, repeat. They athletes spend time not only working their bodies, but their minds. They are kind, respectful, and encouraging toward one another. The building is beautiful, it's stocked with gear, clean, pandemic safe and every time we leave, both boys get in the car, and it's always the same response, "omg That work out kicked my butt, and they always kinda giggles when they say "I love Tiffany!" And truly as a mom, to have my son love his coach, and for me to be able to trust someone with my boys, I could not ask for more. If you are thinking about a gym for your athletes, or your child who needs confidence, or maybe they just need a friend, this is the place. Do not wait, I'm glad I didn't.

They really care about the community and have put a lot of time and effort into creating a program for the youth. Tiffany, the owner is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and enthusiastic. He is good and thorough at spotting areas for improvement and has a great way of explaining what needs to change to make it better. He sees it and immediately knows what is wrong. He had minimal exposure, was not technically and emotionally ready for tournaments. He was averse to failure and would resign if he foresees a loss, even in practice games. Coach Ted handheld him in the most fun way we could only imagine, systematically worked on building his mental strength and tactics. My son now plays national and international tournaments with so much regulation and expertise. This was all possible in these 2 years, only because of Coach Ted's exceptional mentorship. This has helped my son in every other facet of his life as well and I'm sure it'll take him a long way. I've witnessed so many kids blossom in NHC. They play with utmost passion for the game, go to national competitions as a team and are growing up as wonderful human beings of all.
