Very nice pool and staff, but it's only open to the public two months out of the year.

How is this placed closed when I had been taking my little one to swimming class almost every week, which she loves.

There are a few fun tube waterslides as well for older children and adults. I just wish the changing rooms/locker rooms were a bit cleaner with more benches to put stuff on while changing, a lot of the changing areas were converted from the old shower stalls. Tickets can be a bit pricey, but look into late entry for cheaper ticket prices.

A fun place for a birthday party!!…read more It sucks when my daughter's birthday is around the same time I have to prepare for the new school year. It's such a stressful time of the year! That's why I'm just writing this review two months later.... My daughter had a field trip here at summer camp. Since she enjoyed it so much, it gave me an idea for a birthday party with her friends. I'm glad they had a website that made it easy and convenient to book a party. It was cheaper than Cowabunga Water Park (or whatever that took over Raging Waters). This park is smaller, so it was easier for two adults to watch six kids roam around. It has two or three big water slides, a lazy river, and a pool. Enough to keep them busy for four to five hours. The birthday package I chose included entrance tickets, a pizza slice, a drink, and a voucher for Dippin' Dots for each kid. There's a restaurant on-site, therefore, it was convenient to get more food for the kids, like french fries and nachos. The premium cabana was the perfect size for the kids to hang out and eat. A host was available to help when needed during the celebration. Overall, it was a great venue! Organizing a party can be stressful. However, this venue lessened my anxiety. The kids and their parents were grateful. It was also a fantastic way to celebrate the end of their summer vacation.

Aqua Blue Pools re-plastered (NPT StoneScapes "Tropics Blue" - Collection: Small Puerto Rico Blend)…read moreand re-tiled our pool recently, and did a fabulous job. They worked efficiently and minimized the mess associated with such extensive concrete/plaster removal, cleaning up the deck area and existing hardscape daily. Pool rust issues, which proved to be more extensive than appeared when the job was bid, were mitigated thoroughly with no additional charges. It initially appeared that there were two rust areas but four were uncovered as plaster removal proceeded. Ernesto Vega, project manager, was really great to work with and quickly responded to our concerns as they arose (phone or text to him works fastest!). Aqua Blue Pools were very competitive with the other four bids we received, although a big factor in selecting them was that they had just completed our neighbor's pool and they are really happy with the results (pool looks beautiful). The whole job took only 2 1/2 weeks even though work stopped 4 days for the Thanksgiving holiday. We are only three days into the startup process to establish the correct water chemistry and the pool, which looked great once Aqua Blue finished the job, is looking even better each day as the water color becomes more correct. BTW, be aware that the water out of the tap looks really odd when first added to the pool, like green swamp water in our location, until the chemical startup is complete (about one or two weeks) and the water chemistry is correct.

I got quotes from two other outfits and by far they were the most reasonable. They did the job on budget and on time and the pool looks great. Would highly recommend Aqua Blue. SO HAPPY IT FINALLY REOPENED! My toddler had an absolute blast here! They added a new water play…read morestructure with a giant tipping bucket. As the bucket slowly fills, the anticipation builds... then the bell sounds right before it dumps, sending all the kids running over to get splashed. A staff member yelled out that they won't be allowing anyone in once they hit max capacity. Understood. We get inside. The staff members (more like immature teens) screamed at adults and kids when someone ran. While I understand the importance of safety, the way they were yelling at kids/adults to walk felt harsh and unprofessional. It created a tense and uncomfortable environment, especially when it could have been handled more calmly and respectfully. All the teenage lifeguards screamed in sync, literally all at once screaming at them to walk!!!!!!! It was like we were in bootcamp. Then, as the day went on, we still had an hour and a half left, someone had an accident in the pool (a child pooped), the lifeguards screamed at everyone to get out. While quick evacuation is understandable in that situation, the reaction was over-the-top. We all definitely came out right away. What made it worse was that the lifeguards were celebrating afterward saying "F*CK YES!!" And laughing and excited because they got to leave early since they had to close the pool. It felt beyond unprofessional and insensitive to the families who paid to be there. If these kids hate their job, please do us all a favor and quit your job. To top it off, we were all told to leave the premises entirely, even though many of us, including my family, still had children eating. It was abrupt and handled poorly, with no consideration for those trying to wrap up their visit responsibly, we even still had an hour and a half left. I hope management can provide better training on how to communicate with children in a way that is firm but respectful. It's important to keep everyone safe, but how it's done matters just as much. On top of that, if there's a scheduled large group, they should have a better approach rather than having families with small children wait outside in the heat outside.

In regard to Lap Swimming…read more Hours are pretty flexible. About twenty lanes with the first part of the pool set for those who water walk and about 16 to 17 lanes to lap swim. Depending on the time of the day, some lanes close, for water classes. Be weary, if you go first thing when they open at 6am, and also when they reopen at 4pm or 5pm. There are groups of people that call themselves "The Regulars". A few of them like to put kickboards on open lanes to save for people in line behind you. Sometimes, if there is a long line on a hot summer day. A "Regular" might show up and just cut to the front of the line outside with another "regular" who is there already. Some of these people can be rude and really like their specific lane. And will throw a fit if you happen to take their lane. Some of these "regulars" will even lie and come up with a sob story for you about their past injuries, just to get a specific lane. The staff have not really monitored/enforced certain rules in the past. Hopefully that changes. You have been warned. The "regulars" are nice, as long as you don't get their lane or get in line ahead of them. Some will even show up 1 to 3 hours before the pool opens in the morning and afternoon in order to get their lane. They mean business and can be cutthroat. The place has a lot of potential. Cosmetic wise, it's what you'd expect of a facility that's almost a 100 years old.

For the price you pay for rec swim and toddler swim you can't find a better deal in the East Bay!…read moreWe come to this pool the most frequently out of the 3 indoor public pools in the area, the others being Dublin Wave and Silliman Aquatic center in Newark. Great hours for toddler swim, 11am to 1pm Monday thru Friday and 5 to 7pm Tues, Thursday, Friday. There is also rec swim kn Saturday from 1:30 to 3:30pm. The toddler pool is great for toddlers to get used to the water and there is a depth gradient that will allow them to explore and eventually try to swim. There are also toys provided by the staff for the little ones to play with in the pool. The staff here have always been very nice to us and you can tell that the lifeguards on shift take their jobs seriously. Yes, the facility is almost 100 years old and does show its age, but for $5 total for a baby and an adult as well as the super flexible hours? You just can't beat that deal.
