The bar top has old pinball parts encased inside it. There are also a few pinball games to play. We stopped for a quick flight and some food. We ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich. It was served up with pepper Jack cheese, onion rings, bbq sauce and remoulade sauce. The sandwich was delicious but the side of Mac and cheese that we got with it was like warm at best and dry.. next time we'll go for the French fries. Our server was fantastic, he had a great personality and checked in on us to make sure everything was good.

The atmosphere is welcoming and high-end casual...you can walk in with jeans and still feel like you're getting a delicious meal. Every time we've eaten here, the food has been delicious. A few of our favorites: the french onion soup, ribeye, and cowboy candy. We've also tried almost all of the desserts and enjoy those as well. We definitely recommend the Black Iron Grill when you're in the area.

We ordered a flight of beer to try some different styles and the beers were ok at best. The favorite of the bunch was probably the chili beer. After a long day of driving, me, my girlfriend, and my mother were in the mood for a beer or two, so we jumped when we saw that there was a brewery in town. Glendive, after all, isn't exactly a metropolis with microbreweries at every intersection. Indeed, Glendive (or at least Cross Country Brewing) fit the stereotype of the hostile small town that doesn't much like outsiders. As soon as the three of us walked in we were greeted with that ominous silence and a blank, "What do you expect from me?" look on the face of the thin, bearded, ballcap'd bar tender. No "Hi" "What can I get for you?" "I recommend our famous..." etc. Nope. We picked our beers from the chalkboard menu, ordered them, he poured 'em, and then pushed them over to us with an empty, emotionless stare. I didn't get it. We just looked like normal people, not the Addams family. Why the random unfriendly attitudes? Very family friendly and full of people enjoying dinner, The Gust Hauf has a full beer lineup and lots of pizza options. They have other items on the menu but we were just interested in pizza. We got our usual pepperoni and black olive pizza. The 12 inch was perfect to split. The thin crust was delicious. With several beer options and being new to the area, I had to try a local beer and opted for the stout. Great choice. Our server was excellent. We asked her about the name and she told us they have been around since the 1960's! Whaaaaat? The name has just been passed down through owners. Who would ever want to get rid of that amazing sign outside.
