Jerome's access, speed, research, attention to detail, and ability to close a deal are what I found to be qualities that separate him from other agents. When I first started my search for an agent, I contacted seasoned agents who had great reviews and specialized in certain areas I wanted to live in. What I found is that it took a day to get in contact with them and some simply we're too busy to look at new homes on the market. In the LA real estate market timing is incredibly important. Jerome understood those requirements and was incredibly accessible and very fast. Whether it was phone, text, or email, Jerome was always available to answer any questions or contact me with new information. He was also extremely fast to inform me of new homes on the market and show them as quickly as possible. Jerome was a very good researcher also. I was certain which city and area of Los Angeles I wanted to buy. However once Jerome understood my needs, he was able to find a new and upcoming area that met my same needs and was much closer to the area I worked. He was also able to manage my expectations. There were times when I was excited after seeing a home and I would want to put in an offer. Jerome would research comparables and also tax records to see if there we're any issues of concern and sometimes advise against making an offer based off that research. If I was with another agent who was just looking to make a sale, they would've just gone forward with the sale. Jerome wanted to make sure I got the best home possible. Jerome's ability to close the deal saved my thousands. The drama begins when you finally found a home and have to make an offer. Minutes after a home went for sale and before it hit Redfin and Trulia, Jerome notified me and scheduled a showing asap. By the end of the day an offer was in and by the next morning Jerome worked the sellers agent to get them to say yes. I can't tell you how important that was as the coming weekend would've initiated more views and probably much higher offers. Jeromes attention to detail further saved me thousands. I wasn't prepared for the roller coaster that was 30-day escrow. Jerome made sure to get the sellers' agent to agree to important addendums. Pretty soon there were costly repairs that came up where the selling agent would try to balk by saying "the house is sold as is." But it was Jerome's important addendums to the purchase agreement that made sure I was protected from those costs. After a horrible experience 8 years ago, we knew this time we had to find a representative that truly represented us. Since we were moving across the country, we were at a huge disadvantage. Not only did we not know the area, but we didn't know anyone to ask for a referral. After hours of scouring the internet we found Laraine. Her website was the only one we found that gave us a sense of who she was as both a realtor and person. After talking to her by phone, we knew we found the right person. At the properties, she walked around with us pointing out interesting or possibly worrisome things. Laraine even packed a snack for all of us. She left us with an extra packet of information for us to read that night. The next morning she greeted us as warmly as she did on day one. Rather than quite, impersonal drives, we had lively discussions. When driving through neighborhoods, she pointed out Sears houses, architecture, and interesting places. Not only did we get to know the properties, we got to know Laraine too. Not having found the right property on our trip out, we all continued the search via email. We finally found the right house. Laraine never pushed us towards the top of our price range. She showed us houses at the top, bottom, and everywhere in between. As satisfying as it was to close on our house it was a little sad too. I will miss going on adventures with Laraine. She made the whole process fun and exciting. After meeting her at closing, our kids also fell in love with her. They asked for days afterwards to see her again. That may have had something to do with the congratulatory goodies she baked us. When I try and convince people from where we used to live to move out here I tell them all, "I have a great realtor for you." If I used a thesaurus, I still couldn't come up with enough good things to say about Laraine.
