    Beer at Other Lands, Greenville
    Bruce K.

Pro tip: Check the college football schedule before coming to Greenville. After getting stuck in downtown traffic, it was very pleasant to get to Other Lands where it was not at all hectic and a cold beer went down a treat. A lovely open space that despite having a small crowd that was all enjoying this evening. With one draft for me and a tin out of the non-alcoholic fridge* for Mrs. K., we ordered a large basket of fries which came with three sauces plus ketchup. The fries were hot and crisp and most satisfying. In the end, we didn't eat another meal today because there were just so many fries. We roundly enjoyed our evening at Other Lands and would absolutely return to this lovely brewpub. [Review 2204 of 2024 - 1176 in South Carolina - 23222 overall] * The non-alcoholic fridge deserves five stars all of its own. It is AWESOME that Other Lands is catering to those who do not consume alcohol with such a wide variety of beers and wines!

Afternoon coffee while shopping in Greenville. The service is fast and friendly, the ambiance is minimalist modern (nicely down) and the menu covers all the standard coffee drinks plus some specialty items. It was a bit early for drinking, but they also have a good selection of beer on taps as well as some wine to pick from. My coffee was smooth and low acid. Just how I like it. N*joy!

Love the vibe at this place. It's very open, space for studying or working, outlets to charge, fun decor and great lighting. The gf options are sparse but good and the staff is knowledgeable. The iced chai is amazing! They also have good tea, coffee and some beers.

Really cute spot. The details at this brewery was really well done. I love the indoor and outdoor setting. They do have a food menu but it's very small and limited. Not a lot of options for kids as well. The beers are really good! There is also a water station that you can help yourself too. The coffee options are also great.

Always a vibe. Whenever the rest of greenville is bustling and I want somewhere to feel peaceful and actually hear my husband/friends, or just journal/read, I come here.

I like to check out newer breweries every now and then... This one is cute, has a nice outside area and the inside looks and feels more like a coffee shop. They have a decently long beer menu and something for everyone to like. Patty melt was good, fries come sold separately. The sauces are very tasty. Service was friendly. Would love to come back and try their coffee!

There is a large outdoor seating area with plenty of TVs for all the sports needs! The beers with Yee-Haw are always a great selection with something for everyone. If beers are not your taste they also have additional wines and mixed drinks. I tried a Bloody Mary with a moonshine pickle and it hit the spot but was definitely spicy (just how I prefer). The food was good but you don't come here for the food. We started with buffalo chicken dip which is a classic yum. The loaded chicken fries hit my craving and the chicken was juicy and delicious. The 864 was a THICK sandwich and flavorful with the perfect outside crisp/crunch with juicy moist meat internally. No complaints at all. We will be back!

The inside of the brewery was nice as well, although it didn't have as much seating as most of the other comparable breweries that I've been to. They did have one drink that I really liked, which was a Gatorade-flavored seltzer, which tasted great and canceled out the taste of alcohol excellently. On the other hand, I was slightly disappointed at their selection of beers, as they didn't have a particularly strong selection of IPAs, and the IPA that I did get was nothing special. Overall, I'd rate Yee-Haw as being a slightly above-average brewery, which was "good," but lacked anything that really blew me in comparison to the many other breweries that I've patronized.

Complained about his fries when he had about 3 left on the plate. Still given more fries. Appeared to backfire because he clearly wanted something free so he got one of the people with him to also complain. Staff was appropriately apologetic but ol Paul clearly wanted the senior complainer discount so took to yelp while sitting next to me one barstool over. Watched him type it over his shoulder. I started with a Straffe Hendrik Quad, which was chefs kiss. It was a yummy treat to start the meal off with and be transported into being in Belgium. Not pictured was the charcuterie board and Brie appetizers that were all split and devoured. What was documented was the roasted duck breast with potatoes and asparagus. The duck was roasted perfectly with the skin, crispy for the texture and seasoned divinely. Yall the potatoes were crispy on the outside, well fluffy like little clouds inside, and had a punch of flavor. The asparagus was rich with a butter and lemon note. If a plate could sing! Zero notes. 10/10. My only draw back was I needed a pillow after the meal. Stuffed was I.

It's a cool…read morelittle spot with a laid-back atmosphere and a strong craft beer lineup--on tap, in bottles, and canned. The nautical theme and decor throughout the space was a great touch--anchors, ropes, and deep-sea tones gave it a quirky, seafaring charm that made the experience feel more curated and intentional. There were a few groups hanging out when we arrived, and while it wasn't packed, there was only one bartender working, so we waited about five minutes to be helped--not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of. We each ordered a flight, and here's what I tried: Sic'em Sour - sour ale with peach and cherry Italian ice Sour Blueberry Lime - sour ale with blueberry and lime Chonk: Banana Split - sour ale with banana, strawberry, chocolate, and lactose Strawberry Shortshake - milkshake IPA with strawberry and vanilla And then, on a whim, I also grabbed a pour of: Maple Banger - imperial stout infused with maple syrup and toasted maple wood I finished them all, but a few truly left an impression. The Chonk was indulgent and playful--like drinking dessert--with that banana split profile hitting every note just right. The Sic'em Sour was a fruity explosion, sharp and refreshing, like someone blended summer and poured it in a glass. And just when I thought I was done, the Maple Banger hit me like a warm hug from a Canadian lumberjack. Rich, velvety, and layered with real maple goodness--I could've had endless glasses of that one. Hands down a personal favorite. Two flights and a couple of cans came to around $30, which felt totally fair for the experience and the quality. Overall, The Whale is a fun, flavorful stop for beer lovers, especially if you enjoy exploring different styles. Not every brew was a hit, but the vibe was awesome, the décor was unique, and a few of those beers? Truly memorable. I'd definitely stop by again next time I'm in Greenville.

Like, "eat-a-fry-off-the-floor" clean (not that I did, but I could've). Our waitress was super sweet and just the right amount of flirty -- the kind that makes you smile, not sweat. She had jokes, great energy, and made us feel like VIPs without handing us a bill that made us cry. Now the food? Outstanding. I'm talking "how-do-I-make-this-at-home-oh-wait-I-can't" level good. Every bite made me want to high-five the kitchen staff. The vibe of the place is modern, cozy, and super welcoming -- especially for a brewery. And yes, I brought my kids (because of course I did). Even with two kids in tow, we felt totally comfortable. No side-eyes, no awkwardness -- just good food and good vibes. I didn't get to try the beer this time, because, you know... parenting. But don't worry -- I'm coming back tomorrow for Friday date night, and I fully plan to try them all. (Responsibly, of course. My wife will probably drive.) If you're looking for great food, a chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and surprisingly family-friendly brewery vibes -- this is your spot. See y'all tomorrow!
