My husband and daughter were at a different event and my pups and cat were at home :) I haven't had one of these done since my daughter was 6. I had some family photos in my phone and he was able to draw my family just based off photos I had :) It came out SO incredible!! Sean is very talented and AWESOME!! I want to say that the quality of his art skills is comparable to someone working at Disney but maybe even better but on a smaller piece of paper. It's almost like anime/ cartoon like! Recently had Osom Toons at our God Daughters Quincenera. It was beyond a hit. We had 90 people and 1 artist. I chose the color option. Most everyone was able to get a portrait, but if and when I hire again I am definitely going to spend the extra $$ for a second artist! Its so worth it. Its such a level up experience of caricature artistry. Our artist was so kind and thoughtful with all of our guests. I cannot recommend this company enough. Toon Upz was fantastic and had the longest line at the party. I have been to several parties that had the traditional caricatures however we wanted to provide our guests with a different experience. With the traditional caricatures, guests would have to hold onto the caricature throughout the entire event. With digital, they get a 4 x 6 printout (they printed multiples depending on the number of people in the caricature so everyone got one) then you can download a digital version. Toon Upz had a modern twist on caricatures....DIGITAL CARICATURES!!! The artists came drew on an ipad and had a 40" monitor so the guests are able to see how the caricatures come to life. We booked 3 artists since we had quite a few guests and knew that everyone would wanted one drawn. Many guests went back and had a several more drawn (individual, couple and family). When I reached out to them online, Angelo responded so quickly and was patient with ALL my questions leading up to the day of the event. I ordered a pre-drawn color caricature and it blew my off my feet when I saw it. Everyone commented saying it was one of the best ones they have seen One of the artists, Sean was the BESTTTTTTT! He took the time to fill out the frame and added shadowing that really brought the caricatures to life and made it so much more impressive. When you book, specify that you would like Sean to be your artist. I highly recommend providing the artists with a table so the caricature area looks nice and clean. read more

After a few miscommunications, Grace and Angelo fixed my concerns and I'm glad I went with them. Eveyone at my daughter's 1st birthday LOVED them! Angelo was hired for my son's 1st birthday party not by myself but as a present for the party. My guests were able to get caricatures drawn but did my family get any? No we did not. I let him know that I was the host and if we could get drawn next and his response was, "I'm leaving after this." He was not apologetic or sincere. He was not friendly at all about it. As a vendor, you would think you would prioritize the celebrant but Angelo did no such thing. My guests even complained that the wait was too long to get drawn. They were told it would take 5-10 mins but it was actually 10-15 mins per person and for a children's party with families of 4 or more it took over 30 mins. Would definitely not recommend. read more

Was very disappointed in the lack of communication with getting this artist to respond to my emails, texts and phone calls. I found Angelo's website and saw that it listed $150 dollars as his hourly rate and I thought that was fair since I only needed him for an hour for a small luncheon I was having at my office, I booked his services only to learn the night before my venue that he had a 2 hour minimum fee ($300 for 2 hours) the 2 hour minimum pricing was no where to be found on his website and I felt that it was quite misleading. I then tried profusely to reach Angelo to discuss the matter and I sent texts and emails with no replies. I learned from Angelo that he was out of town but would be back in town the night before my event and I tried several times to reach him even after his return from being out of town still with without any responses or replies from him via text, email or phone so I made the decision to cancel his services. Note: Angelo sent me one email stating that he had someone closer to my location who would do the venue for one hour however, I had no way of knowing what the quality of that artists work was or experience level and felt that it would be best to cancel with Angelo entirely based on the lack of communication I was already having with Angelo. A simple reply to any one of my text messages would have been better than to ghost me and all this could have been avoided had it been expressly stated on his website that there is a 2 hour minimum fee at $150 per hour. read more

I'm so so glad I stumbled across their yelp page! I am an event planner and we were asked to find a caricature artist just days before our tenant holiday party. Of course, I turned to yelp. I emailed a few places, Toon Upz being one of them, and they got back to me right away! Beth was the person I emailed to secure the artist (Angelo). Everything happened quickly and on time. They sent over the necessary forms we need for vendors (NDA, W-9 and invoice). They were able to make our event fit in their schedules during the busy holiday season last minute and were flexible with our payment timeline and needs. Angelo showed up on time and prepared. The great thing is you can tell he loves what he does! Even when he wasn't drawing anyone, he was practicing and "doodling" (even though it was beautiful doodling). He was friendly and made people feel comfortable. They are a great addition to any holiday party or work event. We thought employees might not want to sit and get drawn but everyone was so excited. I'm not sure exactly how many he did (we hired him for black & white, non-digital) but everyone that wanted one got one. Honestly, the price is great for the quality of work Angelo did! This was a big hit at our wedding! We originally hired two digital artists pre-pandemic so we could see the digital copies of everyone, but ended up with one non-digital artist and one digital artist because an artist recently stopped doing live caricatures and began focusing on managing. Not a big deal because we still had two artists and they both did wonderful work. We had the caricatures done in black/white so more guests could be done per hour, and upgraded the paper to 8.5x11 for the digital artist instead of the standard 4x6. It was pretty cool to see the digital artist's work on the iPad mirrored on a larger monitor for the other guests to watch while they wait. During the drawing session, they allowed people to act natural and interact with other guests while sitting instead of simply holding a pose the whole time - it was a very relaxing and quick process. The caricatures served as a great takeaway/favor and everyone loved sharing their drawings with each other. We haven't seen the digital copies yet but expect they will be amazing from everything we saw in person. read more
