We hired Lauren to paint a California beach scene in our son's bedroom. We knew we wanted a few key elements incorporated into the mural (VW bus, Manhattan Beach pier, ocean, surfers) and then we collaborated with Lauren on the rest. She offered us options for different levels that varied by size (and the number of walls) and price. She visited our home and took measurements of the room and ultimately I trusted her instincts on what would and wouldn't work. We settled on a one-wall design that was created with the idea that we could always continue the mural on to the adjacent wall. We just came home from vacation to find the mural completed and we are THRILLED - it exceeded our expectations and now our son's room is the most fabulous room in the house! The mural looks amazing - so professional! It's everything we wanted and more! I'm trying to convince my husband that our other younger son needs some of Lauren's magic in his room as well! I am having my first baby and was thinking of doing a mural in the nursery myself. With time running tight my mom offered to pay to have someone come in and do it instead. I have very high standards and was afraid that it wouldn't come out as nice as I was hoping or envisioned in my head. As soon as I met Lauren on the first day to go over what I wanted all my fears went away. She was exactly what I had been looking for. I gave her a few pictures of what I liked and was thinking. She helped me pick out the basic colors for the mural and then a week or so later sent us a sketch. I had one revision to the sketch and she promptly sent it back to us in about another week. She had originally quotes us 4 days of painting time and she was right on. She was on time everyday or gave me enough notice if traffic was delaying her which was no more than 15 m or so. My sister and brother in law gifted us with a mural from Lauren for our baby's nursery. They were out of town and she was very good about communicating with them before contacting us. Wow!! If I could give 10 stars, I would. From start to finish, Lauren was responsive, professional, and prompt. Receiving her initial designs was a jaw-dropping experience. It was like she reached inside my head and created what I was envisioning, only even better than what I was picturing! I had a few changes I needed for one of the designs, and she revised it immediately and perfectly. She was accommodating with scheduling, and straight forward with her rates. I am opening up a new business and have been working with contractors and other people who have gone back on pricing and scheduling. Working with Lauren during this stressful time was definitely a breath of fresh air! She came when she said she would and did exactly what she said she'd do. I contacted Lauren on short notice to do a mural at our fire station. We have annual inspections coming up and the guys at LAFD Station 6 wanted to do something special for the station that would last and be memorable. Lauren called me right away and told me her going rate, which was hard for the member at the station to come up with. Instead of being firm and uncompromising, Lauren offered to discount her labor cost and we managed to come up with the money to go ahead with the project. Lauren was totally professional, prompt, and "easy to work with." =) She came in prepped the area and got right to work, knocking it out in about 6 hours. She did an outstanding job which looked exactly like the logo we have for the station. I just wanted to thank Lauren for working with us, and helping us get Station 6 ready for our inspection. L Star Murals hand painted our logo sign on our storefront. It was not an easy job -- the logo is over 10 feet wide, and it's positioned above our storefront windows, so the whole thing is at least 13 feet off the ground. Lauren did an amazing job with it. I called Lauren after seeing a simple but beautiful nursery mural she had done for a friend's daughter's nursery. When my other good friend and his wife were preparing for the arrival of their baby girl I thought a mural for her nursery would be a great gift. Lauren was such a sweet person on the phone. After conversing with her shortly she gained my confidence that she would really do a great job. I put her in touch with my friend's wife and Lauren was able to glean all the info she needed to do this job. She called me after that and gave me a great quote. Within a few days she came to the house early in the morning and worked for two days for ~ 10 hours/day to finish the mural. You may notice it in the photos above.
