They also have a very large green space for playing, an event room clubhouse looking building, and a small gazebo. Plenty of parking spaces! The real highlight of the park property is the Columbia Park Tower which is safe to climb and has spectacular views along the way up. I happened to visit during a fishing competition weekend and got to see the boats in action and enjoy a brat fry. Was quite a fun experience and a great use of community space.

It can be expensive, since you're paying by the pound ($8.95/lb) and you're not allowed to throw any back ($5 fee for every fish you throw back). But the experience is worth it if you're in town for a weekend or looking for something a little different to do, but not wanting to be disappointed going home empty-handed. This place was made up of 2 ponds where you could fish, and they were both stocked with trout. Because it's nestled in the forest, you do feel like you're in a legitimate place to fish, and not necessarily at a stocked pond. The pond itself is also murky, like you'd expect nature to be, so you don't really see all the fish in there, but if you catch a glimpse of the fish by the shore, you get the feel that you're pretty much surrounded by fish. Not complaining though! When you arrive, you can rent fishing rods for a $1 each. One of ours broke and he replaced it with another complimentary. He also provides you with worms as bait for $0.50. The owner isn't the friendliest but I don't think means anything by it. We were there for a couple hours and caught four trout, our last one being the biggest, twice as large as the others! We caught three trout that were all around 1-1.5lbs each and then the last one was about 3 lbs! So the pond has a wide variety of sizes to catch from. The owner cleans the fish for you, and you get the choice of cleaned/gutted or filleted. Keep in mind that filleted doesn't necessarily mean fillets like you see at the grocery store, where things are boneless, and you just have the meat. Here, the fillets are essentially cleaned, the main spine is removed, head and tail removed, and split in half but still has the skin and is essentially one piece of fish with two sides. He puts it on ice so it helps keep it fresh on your way home. I'd highly recommend bringing a cooler and your own ice to keep it fresh for longer, in case you were going to do other things in the area after. We left it in the truck, in the ice, in the cooler overnight, and by the time we got back home it had been a little over a day before we got to it. The fish themselves tasted so much better than you get from the store though! It was orange flesh, which means they've been feasting on some good grub like crustaceans, grub, etc., rather than fish food. And the meat was tender, mild yet flavorful, incredibly fresh and delicious.

Were disappointed in the WI DNR response regarding flush toilets and showers at Long Lake being out for septic emergency- expecting hundreds of Long Lakers to shower at Mauthe Lake was kind of ridiculous, but we roughed it and the extra porta-potties were good enough. You have to do the 1-mile Dundee Mountain hike within Long Lake 900's and is family friendly. Go the two beaches, do a Nature program at Mauthe Lake or the Ice Age Center, visit nearby Dundee for a burger, an ice cream cone, a beer, live fishing bait and firewood. We're never at a loss for things to do in the Kettle Moraine and enjoyed finding new to us trails like the Haskell Noyes Woods. We caught fish at both Long Lake and Mauthe Lake on our trip, and we love this campground and KM Northern Unit.

Another fine little lake in Manitowoc County. Wilke Lake is about 93 acres. It averages about 9…read morefeet with a maximum depth of 22 feet. Water quality is rated as "good". The bottom is either gravel (60%) or muck (40%) with ample vegetative cover. There is no real park here. There is a parking area for maybe 10 vehicles and a picnic area with table and grill. There is a cement block bathroom. The lake is known for copious amounts of panfish and a good population of large mouth bass. You can also catch northern pike, walleyes, and the occasional muskie. There is a launch ramp and a small fishing pier. The pier is not ADA compliant because the slope is too steep. A day permit is $5 and a seasonal one is $20. Motor boats are allowed. Operating restrictions on motorboats and water skiing are posted. Ordinance regulating littering, motorboat prohibition, noise levels, rafts, piers, ski jumps, slow-no-wake areas, slow-no-wake hours, Bottom line, this is a nice lake with clear water and full of fish. Just another good place to wet a hook in Manitowoc County.

When I was there, some windsurfers were using it as a staging area. It seemed perfectly suited for that purpose. The view of the lake is definitely the highlight, and there are some benches on which to enjoy it. Otherwise it seems like a good spot to enjoy one's lunch or a take out dinner.

Our hike was wonderful and we saw so many things coming to life. Plants, trees, and flowers were starting to bloom. The area is very large and the trail is beautiful. They offer classes during the Spring and Summer, not sure about Winter. All of the classes are about nature. They have a large pavilion for you to have a party or whatever. I was just so happy to find this place! We'll be going back this Summer!
