If you're not careful, they will pawn you off on another branch, even if you ask for someone specific at this office...... =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ .... .which is exactly what happened to me when I called this office, asking for Jim Berkeley (who has high reviews on Yelp). I have a big birthday coming up, and am in the early stages of planning a trip to Mexico with my girlfriends to celebrate. But knowing little about Mexico, and feeling not at all like putting work into planning this trip myself, I decided to splurge on a travel agent to do the work for me. I stumbled upon Destinations & Adventures randomly on Yelp. Since it was highly rated, I decided to give them a shot. But when I called to ask for Jim Berkeley, I was told he was out of the country leading a trip. Instead of Jim, I got a call back only from a random woman in Nashville, TN (Arlene Santos, with the high-falutin' title "Director of Client Services"). This, despite having specified that I'd be willing to wait for Jim to call back once he'd returned. Arlene and I chatted. I explained what I was looking for, and she offered to assist with a distinct lack of enthusiasm. (I think she may have even said something like, "that's a bit of a difficult one.") Now, I know what you're thinking: Why bother with a travel agent who isn't enthused about helping me? I guess I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, sometimes to my detriment. But then, the first red flag: Arlene later e-mailed me that she'd have me an initial quote and some package ideas by a certain date. But that date came and went, and no quote. When I followed up with her several days later, Arlene promised a quote "by the end of the day" - but then, she only sent the names of two hotels, without any pricing or explanation (with pricing to follow later). When I finally got pricing 1.5 weeks after Arlene and I had first spoken, the pricing didn't include anything but just hotel rates (which I could have looked up myself on Expedia). No explanation of how or why she chose those two options, and she said activities weren't included. Also, I'd specifically asked her for daily pricing, since not everyone in my party would be staying for the full trip duration.... but her pricing was weekly, not daily. Amusingly, Arlene's e-mail had added tersely: "Kindly advise which one you are interested in," as if there were absolutely no room for discussion on the matter. It was these two random hotels or nothing. It was clearly time to cut bait. I responded that I thought there was a disconnect, and added: "As it took you 9 days to provide pricing for two hotels, I'm wondering whether you may be too busy to assist me? If so, I'd rather not waste your time, and instead I'll move on to another travel agent. Please let me know." Arlene's frosty response: "Sorry for not being much help. I believe it will be best for you to work with someone else." This "Director of Client Services" should be locked away in an office and never be permitted to assist clients again. Just saying. Buyer beware!

We've eaten in a Monastary in Russia and a goat cheese farm in France. We've been kayaking in Croatia and snorkeling in Tahiti. I can't say enough about the staff at DAI. Any last minute changes are always handled without any problem. Our last cruise was supposed to end in Athens, Greece the day of a strike so Jim Berkeley got us off the ship a day early and flew us to Istanbul for 4 days. Our hotel and tours and meals all arranged at the last minute and all wonderful. We will be traveling with DAI for years to come and would recommend you do too.

Unfortunately, my partner could not make the trip so I had to go back and forth with Paris several times and surprisingly he was extremely patient, explained to me the variety of excursions and included notable suggestions knowing my personality and taste . He answered promptly whenever I messaged him ans made it a smooth process even though I was very stressed out the major changes to my vacation planning . He confirmed in timely fashion which was very professional as you feel a one on one basis and importance to him as a client. While enjoying the excursions and I was alone , he made it hus business to join me, bought me snacks, had an igloo with champagne , rum punch and more which made my day and made very happy throughout my trip . He showed me the difference areas and history along with the areas and yes he has a great music selection to keep you jamming and in a good mood. When an excursion situation didn't work out --- like under renovation without notice--- he was a quick thinker to make alternative plans to continue your special day and guess what the backup excursion was even more entertaining and fun ...was supposed to go to Appleton guide but eventually went to a Crocodile farm ... rode through Everglades and saw in person different crocodiles and endangered animals. Lawd it was wonderful while snacking on my St Mary's banana chips courtesy of Paris. He rode with me ...took pictures for me and yes he is a great photographer. Carried me to all my local spots I like KFC, jerk huts, Pelican bar in the middle of the sea and rode the boat with me even though he had his new Clark's on with sand and all. That's how far Paris will go. He made sure to see how you felt of the event and did regular checks to see if youre alright. We drove for hours and he never seems to get tired or frustrated --everytime having a warm smile and engaging making sure you have a great time which you normally don't see nowadays. Another major plus, his vehicle (which i assume everytime is a new vehicle) is spotless clean....seats are extremely comfortable and well padded. Everytime I see the vehicle it looks new so overall im impressed with the cleanliness, professionalism and one to one engaging experience. February is when I met Paris during my birthday for Valentines Day and he made me felt like royalty and was well taken cared of . I was so impressed by his professionalism I made him my personal your guide anytime going to Jamaica. I've already told him May 2026 im coming and February 2027. So he is booked and busy with me per se . I am honestly thankful and glad I met Paris because nowadays a lot of these tour guides are not professional and crooks and don't care putting you at some priority and have to common sense to make a plan A and b in the event something happens but guess what you get all of that and more with Paris-- you know why because he genuinely loves his job and takes pride in what he does. Thank you again Paris for making me have great memories and a fantastic time in Jamaica and can't wait for May 2026. Oh yes , last but not least , Paris knew I was traveling solo , he took the time both yesterday and today to message me to see if I reach home safely-- if it was anyone else they wouldn't care ans be onto the next one . Negin was very helpful every steps of the way and gave us very good hour to hour agenda for our two weeks stay in Iran, What I love the most about their tour is mostly cultural than just visiting the tourist attractions. harry can be a great travel agent…read more he knows hotels and resorts and will be frank about how awful some of them can be. he resuscitated a europe ticket for me, even when i had given up on using it. guess i ll be in europe this summer... au revoir! (my family has been booking travel and vacations with harry for 30+ years... europe, china, middle east, mexico, maui ( every 6 months). every flight and hotel reservation has been done with careful attention to our needs.)

Long live LIVE travel agents like Harry and Anna at Travelure…read more I have been going to Travelure since 1992 and, as much as I love the internet for many, many things, there is nothing to compare to a real person that can tailor a trip on you, finding "unfindable" flights, arranging connecting flights, giving you multiple options, and answering your questions with knowledge and experience, like Harry and Anna will do for you at Travelure. Don't think that booking online will save you money, it will only give you a headache if your computer freezes or you inadvertently push the "wrong button" and cannot "undo". Good luck trying to reach a real person and modify your booking. I recently purchased a trip for my mom from and back to Italy and Anna was able to to seat us together, matching my existing Lufthansa mileage flight which was from and to LA. Last week she saved a friend of mine who had been searching for the past month for a decent flight to Europe that would suit her very particular schedule and Anna found it. She and Harry are a pleasure to work with.
